    Used this frame for my first build, I went for diatone 1404 3000KV (GEPRC Tern-LR40 has 1404 4000KV), some calculations and details can be found on rotorbuilds (when I will publish it). I fly 4s mostly 850mAh and it's easy 6-7 minutes cruise, 3s 1150mAh also works but it's not great.
    I only use the front and back TPU, the legs (socks) TPU barely held on legs, a friend is working on TPUs that mount through motor holes. Even so with SpeedyBee F405 mini stack and Foxeer Reaper VTX and 13g RunCam ThumbPro it's ~200g without battery.
    The only LiIOn battery that according to my calculations would not be too strained for high discharge was GNB 4000mAh with 4x21700 and I have to fly 2 bladed props, 3 bladed would take too much power. Battery is decently warm after ~15 minute flight, but with such +400g weight the hover throttle is easily around 50%, so it's a stretch.
    Maybe for the long range the recommended 1804 would really be better, my eCalc addiction failed me there heh.
    The threads on 25x25 mounting holes are bit annoying, so mounting 20x20 stack is a bit awkward but it's possible to mount it securely and nicely with 'golden nut' setup as Chris Rosser recommends.
    Kind of tempted to do another build with WalkSnail and 1804 3500kv 4s and mount GPS above front camera., although the back mount works with Foxeer nano GPS and with VIFLY GPS-mate works well and lock happens within 2-3 minutes.
    Overall it's great frame, and XT30 in TPU is great, I managed to send it to a soft ground at 50km/h by accident without any damage, but hard surface would kill those arms for sure.

      Sounds like a good choice for a lightweight build and efficient flights. What size batteries were you able to fit keeping sub-250g? 4s is the most practical choice for a lightweight build like this.

    • @Pulecocz
      @Pulecocz 2 месяца назад

      @@colibrifpv Sadly none. Wth 200g weight, I would have to use tiny below 50g battery and even my smallest 4s 650mh is 73g. I would have to run AIO, don't use vifly GPS mate, no TPU and then maybe it would be ~250g. Honestly, I just wing it.
      Here is one flight where jello is an issue (only on the runcam, not on the analogue camera) ruclips.net/video/yrKTe58xKDQ/видео.html

    Great Video! I received the frame today and will order the other parts later today. I think I will go for 4s with Flash 1804 3500Kv Motors. I also like the top/front mount for the gps (not included, but aviable in the thingiverse parts kit) to keep the gps away from the vtx antenna.

    • @colibrifpv
      @colibrifpv  2 месяца назад

      That's a great combo you went for, and I think putting the GPS up front is a good idea... I put mine in the rear because I want to have the option to use the GoPro mount with my GP Bones, but having GPS up front will get you better reception and you can leave out that rear mount to save some weight. If you don't mind going over 250g you should try some li-ion packs with your build, it's a great match for super long flights!

      I really like the LR40 also but for this one I wanted to do a custom build with those larger 1804 motors in order to carry a GoPro Bones. I don't think the LR40 would be good for an external cam with those smaller motors and GPS tower, although I'm sure it is more efficient...

    clean build bro! You have used very similar components to me. I like the way you mounted the receiver. I get about 9min flight time with 4s 1100mah HV with 1604 motors.

    • @colibrifpv
      @colibrifpv  2 месяца назад

      That's awesome, is yours sub-250g with that setup?
      Those 1604 motors should be lighter and more efficient for this ultralight build, but I wanted to have the option to fly mine with a GoPro Bones, and on smallish 850mah 6s it flies 👌Although I have to admit that mine is not a "true" sub-250g build, I can run 4s 550mah under sub250g, just to say I can, but I don't think it's really possible to do 6s under 250g...

    • @zeesh0267
      @zeesh0267 2 месяца назад

      @@colibrifpv yeah I don’t think it’s feasible for it to be a sub 250 long range build. Mine isn’t sub 250. I think you’d be able to easily carry a GoPro bones with these 1604s. I ran a 6s 1200mah and the motors were completely cool.

    hey thank u for this video, great review! what do you think about atlas compared to flywoo LR4?

    • @colibrifpv
      @colibrifpv  7 дней назад

      Hey thanks a lot for your feedback! The LR4 is slightly lighter weight and more efficient, and of course it comes built as a BNF or frame kit. The Atlas4 is a bit more robust, designed to run larger motors, to be more powerful. I run a Bones on mine, over 250g of course. If you want a BNF or maximum efficiency consider the LR4, if you plan to build, the Atlas4 is a great frame that's hard to beat, and it's cheap. I say get Atlas 4 if you are a builder...

    My 3.5in is at 290g with battery. I still believe 1000g is a better number but FAa will never do it. Or 1000g for hobbies and 250 for business. I am so close to 250 I am changing my motors but will still be 10g over 250g

    • @colibrifpv
      @colibrifpv  Месяц назад +1

      I totally agree with you, 250g is such an arbitrary number! I can do sub 250g for the sake of doing it, but my 6s setup (over 250) is so much better 😁

      I know, I was flying super tame in these test flights. At the flying field I was doing maiden flights and didn't want to push, then at that second location where the waterfall is, I was flying super careful because if you go down over that forest there is no chance of getting the drone back. I can say that on 6s batteries, those 1804 motors will rip on a lightweight quad like this, the power to weight ration is crazy!
