    Your instructions are probably the most clear and concise instructions that I have ever seen in a youtube video for knitting! Wow, you are very thorough! I appreciate this video, as I have only done blankets and scarfs. I signed up to make 30 hats for my daughters school market next month and your video is amazing! I wish I had stumbled across your video when I first learned a few months back!
    Edit to add: her school market is for the kids and nothing costs more than $3 (it is not a farmers market or anything like that. It is a fundraiser for their end of year trip... I hope that is ok lol)

    I just finished knitting this project and it was so easy and enjoyable - thank you!!! I used a 6 weight yarn and size 13 needles so had to adjust as I went but that was really easy.
    I started with 70 stitches and realized halfway into the video that the pattern needed to be divisible by 11 so I got some good practice increasing 😆.
    I’m a beginning knitter and your video really broke down some previously intimidating techniques to make them simple and accessible.
    Thank you for making these videos!!

      Will this pattern stretch out after a few washes? Ive been knitting a basic cable hat and find it always stretches out and is so wide it falls off my head. Im sad after all the work I put into it.

    • @madelynegarrett7787
      @madelynegarrett7787 Месяц назад

      I think you’d need to cast on multiple of 11 +5 - so if you cast on 82 stitches that would be 7x11=77 + 5 = 82

    • @madelynegarrett7787
      @madelynegarrett7787 Месяц назад

      Okay nope it’s got to be a multiple of 11 don’t worry about the +5

    Hi, I've just finished knitting the brim (120 St's, on 4mm needles using an Aran yarn) and it looks huge. I have just finished knitting another one of your patterns ( Easy knit ribbed hat for adult men and women) using Hayfield Bonus chunky tweed and it was perfect. Please tell me where I have gone wrong or is it supposed to look big ?

      It could be the tension or double check the stitch count.

    How does your purling method not result in a twisted stitch? P.S. Followed your baby hat/booties/mittens tutorials and they turned out great! Thank you!
    Edit: I figured it out. You're purling through the back loop. Man, this method is SO much better than what I was doing before. KFB saves the day again.

    Love this hat. I just finished this hat with the straight needles from your video with 112 cast on. The hat fits great. I want to make it now with my round needles but why 121 cast on? I am afraid it will be too big 😢 Any ideas or how to make it smaller?

    • @knittingforbaby
      @knittingforbaby  Год назад +1

      The tension when knit in the round is different so I would go with the 121 st instead which is why I added a few more. Good luck 👍

    Hello Sara. Can you please tell me from where do you buy your knitting needles. Can you send me.the link? I would like to order 16 inch circular needles different sizes like the one you are using in this video. The one that I have is bamboo and very long I find it difficult to knit in rounds. I would rather buy something like yours and different sizes if they sell in packs with 10 or 12 different sizes.
    Thank you very much

    Q) For row 21, after you just added one stitch to have 121 total, you knit the entire row. Why do you alternate knitting in the front of one stitch and in the back of the next stitch?
    Oh! And at 10:23 where you start the first row after your first cable twists, why do you purl in the back of the stitches?

    • @Kai-el7rw
      @Kai-el7rw 11 месяцев назад

      She purls from the back because it’s easier than purling from the front in my opinion. If she knitted in the back, which you can’t do in the round, she would purl the same way but in the front. When you are doing ribbing. If she purled in the front doing ribbing it would look twisted. But once she gets to straight putting..it really doesn’t matter…when not in a rib stick, it looks normal.
      It’s an old German or Russian way of knitting. It’s the way my mom taught me.
