"Tasha's hideous laughter" has an accurate illustration of how you looks like when you play it.
From your opponent mostly
It's pretty accurate description of how I look all the time minus the tasha's and the laughter
It's also how it feels when you use that spell in d&d. As a DM it's pretty weird when your players kill your boss by making them laugh to their deaths.
Its art is so perfect for what it does, even matches the feeling when casting the spell in and
laughing at your opponent's sadness

I had a Knight of the Reliquary on the field and was able to beat off 2 crypt incursions while facing a mill deck. It was a good time

For real though. Sometimes wotc make an announcement and I get so disappointed I literally put my cards away. I'm so tired of the company that's screwing me I can't help but think about putting it down for good. Then Magic Aids make a new vid and I get all excited and start playing again.
I don't even play Magic anymore but I watch every video he puts out
I only play Commander now but his videos makes me want to play Modern again.

I'd get hard in math class but that was because I would be napping when the pace of the class wasn't interesting enough. So I'd get napping wood lol
the hideous laughter really depics the casters' when they mill almost half of their opponent's library, and it's quite flavorful to play it along "river of tears", a card powerd by your opponent's salt

@Finn Brenner I mean the old 8rack builds used em to strip threats from decks. But yeah, nothing quite as offensive as this!
The art on Hideous Laughter is too perfect for this kind of deck. This has to be the most successful I've seen a mill deck function that isn't just a single turn of infinite mill. If this keeps up, Modern might start running bigger CMC cards or larger decks just to not get blown out.
But my running all or mostly higher cost cards, they ensure they will get blown out! The beauty ✨
@@masondeitrick That's the problem, isn't it? Run higher CMC cards and you get ran over by everyone else but the mill deck. Run low cost cards and you always lose to the random mill deck. This is usually why decks fight mill by just running more cards, but the reduced consistency and the nature of Hideous Laughter kind of fights against it naturally.
Either way, I'm curious if this will impact the Modern meta at all, and if so, in what way.
Plus, decks that would work really well against tashas like vengevine/hollow one hate surgicals

The madman actually made mill an interesting deck to play. Running 6 surgicals adds a ton of decision-making to the deck.
Yeah and with tasha's you can actually hold your mill for a burst against the DRC murktide deckss. Really an interesting take on the archetype.

I had not actually thought about Tasha's Hideous Laughter being more powerful in older formats due to more efficient cards and lower curves. That's actually pretty cool design!

Tasha's is why I put Murktide in my blitz deck to up the average cost. Mill is looking pretty good these days. Great video featuring one of the more standout cards from the upcoming D&D set

Tashas is probably my favorite card to come out of this set. It gives you a laugh when you mill 20+ cards.
