NGL, this is how Modern Horizon's sets should be designed around. Not making new busted decks with all of the new chase rare/mythic's, but bringing back old archetypes with new pieces so people can rebuild their old decks again
That's a really cool possibility, but I'm not convinced anyone over there is ever putting that much thought into it.

I always thought it was interesting that Wizards was okay with "Aids" becoming "Rainbows." I wonder if they know the implication here.
I just assumed they thought daddy was homophobic so they made his name Magic_Rainbows as an ironic punishment. In reality daddy was just referring to study aids.
Its always a shame seeing othetwise competitive decks get their booty spread by the mtgo timer

I was around for the OG magic aids, I have fond memories of building your decks with my mates from the local game store years ago
The flexibility of the combos was really crazy in this deck. Because there's so many ways to go infinite, it's hard for opponents to know what piece to try and take out. I wonder if this is going to be another 5C Humans situation and we see this deck popping up all over

Kek, I appreciate the doubling down on the username. We do have to be grateful to wizards though. He was the reason we get Lillia showing up randomly in the edits and that shot never fails to crack me up
I....put this deck together on Arena. In the Historic format. Out of 20 games, I lost 1. and that was to a turn 1 Soul Warden. After that, I changed the deck up to Abzan. I put in Zulaport Cutthroats and Cruel Celebrants. The Games have been ending much faster and there's an actual payoff if the opponent decides to board wipe me.
I've gone rom Bronze 4 all the way to gold 3 with an abzan variant of this deck in about 30 minutes. Holy F you're a genius!

Magic Ayds, I love it! Wizards can go pound sand. I also love watching the creativity in your builds work it's magic. Proof that you don't just need to jam every newer, more broken card into decks to succeed even in a competitive format.

I've thought about building a commander deck along these lines. It turns out that you can basically chain 40 or 50 cheap green and white creatures into overlapping combo suites, then you just throw in lands and disruption. Triskelion and Ballista were actually some of the combo "endpoints" as they didn't chain to multiple combos like Heliod did.

@@MagicAids I have tried before, my audience (Bulgarians) are not really interested in the game. We have roughly 200 ppl that play the game in my country and most of them are commanders :(

Collected company is such a brilliantly designed card for constructed mtg. Now they just add another ability making the text into the average Yu-Gi-Oh card font size.

Broodscale is honestly a combo on a stick in basically every format it's legal in. Even pauper has a combo deck that can be brewed around it
I used to love the heliod deck! It's nice to see a revival of this archetype

It's cool to see a deck with a density of combos that gives it multiple ways to victory. Relying on just 2 or 3 wouldn't be enough but with 5 or 6 the deck stands a chance.
MH3 is such a deep set, i feel like people are gonna be finding new things to play for a long time!
The velocity of the modern format with this is wild. Have been patiently waiting for all of Daddy’s new brews, and the spice level of this one did not disappoint!

It’s great to see Heliod being considered again. I originally started playing magic in the first theros block so I’ll always have a fondness for cards from that plain. I’m also obsessed with lizards (you can tell by the profile picture) so I enjoy seeing a combo deck with the cards types of cards I love.

I want to say that this is absolutely wild. Like, heliod company never really became "bad", it just stopped seeing play because better answers to it were printed. Once it gets new cards that enable a more consistent win, of course it should be seen as a serious archetype.
Also, I'd really like to see if you could Crack necrodominance and psychic frog in the same deck. I'm a big time dimir player.
I knew that Ivy lane/Scurry oak was infinite but finding more ways to add to heliod is even better. A combo deck that can work so many different angles is rare.
I always thought Rainbows was chosen and hilarious, but congrats on having the old pronunciation back
