Excited to receive your pointers on how to grow them well. Agree about the scent, I find it powerfully floral like incense. 🌸🥷🏼 Sue San!! heeee, Sue!! Cousin IT!! The gatekeeper of my deep south 😅 He has gotten HEAVY 😂 I LOVE garciana! Maybe you remember that I have one? That fragrance, isn't it divine?? did you see this video? ruclips.net/video/orLTWFDbIWg/видео.html since I did this with mine, she is looking superb and no more concertina leaves! 👍🏼 it was a rough removal off the mount, but, it had to be done! Now she is pot bound and looks like a bowl of goodness and I am hoping for a nice blooming come next spring. The blooms also last for ages! We are in a better climate today, smoke and heat wise! The heat of the fire yesterday was something else! But, they pushed it back into the mountains, where they are now trying to get it under control. I have water planes flying over my property in convoys of 5 every 10 minutes. The fact that we have the Med right at our doorstep, really helps ... at least it is easy access for a water source! I am not quite ready to clean up the mess completely though. I feel a little beat up today 😅 Am glad that we have internet again... have some filming to do, but I don't expect to be doing anything like clean up etc. As I am going all Cinderella Ninja over the weekends, today... just going to pretend that the ash isn't everywhere 🤪 🙈🙈 really appreciate you watching this video, 🌸🥷🏼 rafiki!! Hi Nina. My Radiata is happiest this year, with 7 spikes. She’s quite a fragrant one. The Cochleata has finished her bloom for the year. My go to solution for mealy bugs is 1 pod of garlic, made into paste and steeped in 1 litre of water overnight. Strained through a cheese cloth to remove the fine bits. To that, I add 1 tspn of cooking oil, and 1 tspn of dish washing liquid. And spray the plant. Repeat after 1 week twice more. It really does work for me.

I really had quite the 48 hrs, and I tried to reply sporadically to everyone as best as possible, I am so sorry I am this late to thank you for watching and letting you know that I appreciate your time and comment 🙏🏼🥰 I use a lot of garlic for my pest control as well. I seep it in alcohol, and use that every 10 days or when I see a problem, and I use garlic water as well, but not with dish washing liquid or cooking oil. Just plain water with the garlic paste strained out of it. I am glad to hear that someone else is also using garlic. I have made several videos about how impressed I am with the effectiveness of garlic as an additive. It has been a game changer for my orchids and pest control, this year. Again... thank you so much for watching and I am so sorry for getting back to you so late! I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend 👍🏼🌸
Good evening! Rod Steward... lol I almost spit my drink :D Prosthechea has a nice growth habit. Mislabeling is really annoying, but I can understand some mislabelings since the orchids are such a complex type of plants, there are so many that are similar especially if they're not in bloom. But it still hurts when it's mislabeled. One just has to hope that they'll like it even if it's something else. And you're right, it's so vigorous! 5 new growths... that's bonkers. Oh my, falling shelf... what unfortunate event. But it still looks amazing despite the damage! It may need a more water retentive medium though with the vigor and size, it will require even more next time. Hope the fires calmed down. Be safe!
🌸🥷🏼SnowDragonka San! 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰🤩💐 I made it... finally sitting down... finally getting to comments that I have not been able to address in a proper manner without the right emojis, time and frame of mind! The mislabelling... yes! Grrrr! the shelf this one fell from, that was me thinking that my stainless steel shelves, that are actually catering shelves which hold weight of many many piles of plates etc, would hold the tolumnia baskets with the lava rock in them. Well, guess who assumed that the wall the shelf was bolted to, was of rubbish weak substance?? Yep, me! This happened back in 2018, when the orchids were arriving almost 3 boxes / week... I hung all my tolumnias on that shelf with orchids on top, and yep... came home one day and everything was on the floor. The fact that it survived that... this is a strong orchid 😅 What a mess that was though! The floor, ... the media... I thought that it was a sign that I should not be pursuing this hobby 🤯😬 but... now that shelf is bolted in and secured with liquid concrete or something of the sorts, and it has held up since then. Still, no more hanging tolumnias from it, and only 5 phals fit on it now. Just a little suspicious and no need to tempt fate right? When I uppot it next year, is is going to get pumice around the sides instead of leca. I have a feeling that it is going to love the pumice layer around the edge. Really appreciate your patience with regards to my delayed response! I did not want to reply from my old lap top, because that one does not have the 🥷🏼 and ... no way did I want to miss out addressing you in the appropriate manner! I have a cross of it Guarechea Black Comet and it is also a very vigorous one with similar looks only different bloom colour. What am I doing here at this hour you might wonder... just a bit of insomnia, I may not be able to sleep tonight and be all groggy tomorrow 🙃🙂 but nothing I can do, I already have the bedroom full of 🐑🐑🐑. I hope you are having a good rest after the hard day you had and before all the cleaning up tomorrow... or should I say later today? Some hard rain would help but it never comes when we need it 💤😴🥰❤️
FFF 🤩🥰🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️💐 He is indeed!! And he is an even bigger boy now than he was 6 months ago 😅 heavy!! I love the color on your Black Comet it is so very different and in my opinion, much more striking! I saw your comment last night, tbh, meine liebe Freundin, and I was about to engage and tell you off, but then I thought it best to get my derriere into bed and sleep otherwise I would have probably whatsapped you!! 🤪 I was so tired but so high strung by adrenalin. This morning I woke up after the deepest sleep for a long time. Now we have a convoy of 5 water planes doing loops over our neighborhood to get to the edge of the blaze. They worked all night to control anything jumping over to homes. They have done a tremendous job! One firefighter lost his life 😔 and he came from another province to help out... 44 years old! Incredible loss ... he was not supposed to be here, but he is a firefighter in another province and came down with other compañeros... I just can't... his poor family! They work under the most dangerous conditions for such long hours! Even the pilots who are doing these loops... they fly over our property every 10 minutes... I wish I still had a big lawn where I can mow GRACIAS into the grass!! These people are truly heroes in my eyes! They do such a dangerous job, for such long hours... no room for error!! I just feel so grateful for people like this! I feel awful for everyone who was close to the one that passed away. Terrible circumstances! Just terrible. Did you manage to clear space in your room to get some sleep? It can get a little crowded if the sheep keep coming 🤪😅 thank you so much for watching, amiga mia!! Absolutely agree on repot when the orchid is ready not necessarily what the season is. Of course we all want to do things in the Spring due to everyone goes into growth mode, but ummmmm…. Not at plants know that! 😂😂😂

I love how the plant looks but the flowers is less appealing to me compared to for instance a Cattleya. But if it would cross my path I would certainly buy it. Nice to see it do so well in leca though.

I thought I had bought a different one because of the name and corresponding blooms, and when it bloomed like this, I was a bit disappointed, I wanted the star shaped blooms with the spotting, much like what I showed with the other blooms as a comparison. But... here it is, they come into our lives for a reason, and boy .. this is a vigorous orchid 🤪 we will be uppotting in 12 months. Hi Andre 🤩💐 this video was filmed with 48 hrs before the upload due date... everything was fine then! I have to film ahead of time, especially CareCollabs... which I make sure to have ready 2 days before, because... imagine, if I had not! Then, everyone does a video and I am the one that has none? Too risky, so... CareCollabs get priority filming and scheduling. Everything is fine in our neighborhood. The pushed the flames back into the mountains where things are still tricky. We now have 29 planes in the air dealing with the miles of fire. A convoy of 5 as our area on a loop, they come to the Med to fill up with water and then head back into the mountains. They have been doing this for the past 8 hrs that I can see. The smoke is white from where I am stood, so... whatever they are doing, is working! I don't feel the heat of the flames anymore, like I did yesterday. That was HOT!! Thank goodness we have the Med just at our doorstep, a huge source of water. But, these guys must be tired... I think they are refuelling now, because for the past hour I have not heard them fly over. I hope they switch pilots, because .... they do a very demanding job in tough conditions! But, the patio is a mess... don't care... not today. I cannot see any damage to the 'chids, so,... very very grateful for that! 🙏🏼 thank you for your concern, Andre!! and for watching, thank you! Some prosthecheas are smaller, but... they are ramblers and take up a lot of width. I like the fact that this one grows bold upright, short rhizome. Thank you so much for watching!! Mislabeling is really annoying, but I can understand some mislabelings since the orchids are such a complex type of plants, there are so many that are similar especially if they're not in bloom. But it still hurts when it's mislabeled. One just has to hope that they'll like it even if it's something else. And you're right, it's so vigorous! 5 new growths... that's bonkers. Oh my, falling shelf... what unfortunate event. But it still looks amazing despite the damage! It may need a more water retentive medium though with the vigor and size, it will require even more next time. Hope the fires calmed down. Be safe!
🌸🥷🏼SnowDragonka San! 🙌🏼🤸🏼♀️🥰🤩💐 I made it... finally sitting down... finally getting to comments that I have not been able to address in a proper manner without the right emojis, time and frame of mind! The mislabelling... yes! Grrrr! the shelf this one fell from, that was me thinking that my stainless steel shelves, that are actually catering shelves which hold weight of many many piles of plates etc, would hold the tolumnia baskets with the lava rock in them. Well, guess who assumed that the wall the shelf was bolted to, was of rubbish weak substance?? Yep, me! This happened back in 2018, when the orchids were arriving almost 3 boxes / week... I hung all my tolumnias on that shelf with orchids on top, and yep... came home one day and everything was on the floor. The fact that it survived that... this is a strong orchid 😅 What a mess that was though! The floor, ... the media... I thought that it was a sign that I should not be pursuing this hobby 🤯😬 but... now that shelf is bolted in and secured with liquid concrete or something of the sorts, and it has held up since then. Still, no more hanging tolumnias from it, and only 5 phals fit on it now. Just a little suspicious and no need to tempt fate right? When I uppot it next year, is is going to get pumice around the sides instead of leca. I have a feeling that it is going to love the pumice layer around the edge. Really appreciate your patience with regards to my delayed response! I did not want to reply from my old lap top, because that one does not have the 🥷🏼 and ... no way did I want to miss out addressing you in the appropriate manner! Life and safety ALWAYS comes first. And I fully understand that and I'm just glad you made it just fine :) And let me send some more power to that rebellious shelving so it doesn't unhinge itself again :)
Nicely grown! So it is a different variation. That explains why bloom looks a bit different.

🦒🎠🧚😎!!! Well, well, cousin ITT is back, nice!!! And in good company as I can see. Cochleata is a classic and a lovely vigorous orchid. The flowers are indeed very cute, liitle Octopus-like. I have a cross of it Guarechea Black Comet and it is also a very vigorous one with similar looks only different bloom colour.
What am I doing here at this hour you might wonder... just a bit of insomnia, I may not be able to sleep tonight and be all groggy tomorrow 🙃🙂 but nothing I can do, I already have the bedroom full of 🐑🐑🐑. I saw your comment last night, tbh, meine liebe Freundin, and I was about to engage and tell you off, but then I thought it best to get my derriere into bed and sleep otherwise I would have probably whatsapped you!! 🤪 I was so tired but so high strung by adrenalin. This morning I woke up after the deepest sleep for a long time. Now we have a convoy of 5 water planes doing loops over our neighborhood to get to the edge of the blaze. They worked all night to control anything jumping over to homes. They have done a tremendous job! One firefighter lost his life 😔 and he came from another province to help out... 44 years old! Incredible loss ... he was not supposed to be here, but he is a firefighter in another province and came down with other compañeros... I just can't... his poor family! They work under the most dangerous conditions for such long hours! Even the pilots who are doing these loops... they fly over our property every 10 minutes... I wish I still had a big lawn where I can mow GRACIAS into the grass!! These people are truly heroes in my eyes! They do such a dangerous job, for such long hours... no room for error!! I just feel so grateful for people like this! I feel awful for everyone who was close to the one that passed away. Terrible circumstances! Just terrible. Did you manage to clear space in your room to get some sleep? It can get a little crowded if the sheep keep coming 🤪😅 thank you so much for watching, amiga mia!! Absolutely agree on repot when the orchid is ready not necessarily what the season is. Of course we all want to do things in the Spring due to everyone goes into growth mode, but ummmmm…. Not at plants know that! 😂😂😂

I love how the plant looks but the flowers is less appealing to me compared to for instance a Cattleya. But if it would cross my path I would certainly buy it. Nice to see it do so well in leca though.

I thought I had bought a different one because of the name and corresponding blooms, and when it bloomed like this, I was a bit disappointed, I wanted the star shaped blooms with the spotting, much like what I showed with the other blooms as a comparison. But... here it is, they come into our lives for a reason, and boy .. this is a vigorous orchid 🤪 we will be uppotting in 12 months. Hi Andre 🤩💐 this video was filmed with 48 hrs before the upload due date... everything was fine then! I have to film ahead of time, especially CareCollabs... which I make sure to have ready 2 days before, because... imagine, if I had not! Then, everyone does a video and I am the one that has none? Too risky, so... CareCollabs get priority filming and scheduling. Everything is fine in our neighborhood. The pushed the flames back into the mountains where things are still tricky. We now have 29 planes in the air dealing with the miles of fire. A convoy of 5 as our area on a loop, they come to the Med to fill up with water and then head back into the mountains. They have been doing this for the past 8 hrs that I can see. The smoke is white from where I am stood, so... whatever they are doing, is working! I don't feel the heat of the flames anymore, like I did yesterday. That was HOT!! Thank goodness we have the Med just at our doorstep, a huge source of water. But, these guys must be tired... I think they are refuelling now, because for the past hour I have not heard them fly over. I hope they switch pilots, because .... they do a very demanding job in tough conditions! But, the patio is a mess... don't care... not today. I cannot see any damage to the 'chids, so,... very very grateful for that! 🙏🏼 thank you for your concern, Andre!! and for watching, thank you! Some prosthecheas are smaller, but... they are ramblers and take up a lot of width. I like the fact that this one grows bold upright, short rhizome. Thank you so much for watching!!
