Thank you for the review! I'm getting this sofa next month, in the Tillby beige color and will be laying two beige sheepskin pieces on the cushions. Sheepskin is hypoallergenic, breathable, does not retain odors, and is extremely durable - they've prolonged the life of my sofa cover by preventing stains, scratches, and repeated washing. They're not bulky or hot to sit on, and when you brush them (use a regular dog brush with the metal bristles) the fur fluffs up and feels amazing! They also come in many natural colors: black, white, beige, brown...and even dyed colors They would add a nice, classy touch to your cottage look.
We’ve had this couch since 2016 and we freaking love it and it’s held up. My boyfriend sleeps on it more than he does our bed due to crazy work hours. We did add feet to it that we bought at Loewe’s and stained them to match. I wish the slipcovers came in more colors
HUGE thanks! Customer Service was pretty bad, but I'm delighted with the new Sectional....thanks to your review!! Any folks who haven't shopped at IKEA before....make sure you do some research before showing up. Additionally, I was able to transport everything I needed for the 5 Seat corner with Chase Kivik in a 2014 F150 (small bed) with the seats pulled up. Hope that helps someone. It was tight, but ratchet straps and some determination helped. Not a 1 person job.
Thanks so much for the comment and additional info. I’m so happy that my review was able to help in your decision. I agree about IKEA. It can definitely be overwhelming. Glad you were able to get your sectional home and that you’re enjoying it! 😁
Thank you for this great video! We are moving soon and shopping for new sectionals, and the Kivik is one we're looking at. Your video answered so many of my questions!
I have had my Kivik 2 seater with the chase & foot stool for 9 years in the dark grey cover. It is in the basement & the grandchildren when they were younger, have used it for a launching pad, a trampoline & a place to sleep. 2 dogs were in the mix also. It is in great shape. Very sturdy.Cushions still very comfortable. I think I can get another 9 years out of it & just ordered a different color slip cover. The only thing I did different was order legs from Ikea to make it a little higher.
That is great to hear! My two grandkids have done the same.🤣 If they would make a slipcover with a skirt on it, I would be over the moon! IKEA, are you listening? 😂Thanks for stopping by today. 🌸🌸🌸
We are obsessed with our kivik and just ordered another for our lake house. I’ve ordered some custom velvet covers for them which makes it incredible. It’s so comfortable!
Thank you so much for the review! I had the ektorp in the past and the colour and feel I did not like it at all. And I just found the kivik second hand in this beige colour but was hesitant to buy it!
We've had this sectional for over 2 years and although we love how comfortable it is and that we can change the covers, the one thing I don't like is how low it is. I'm trying to find videos that show how to hack this sofa to make it higher. If anyone knows of any, please let me know!
Hi Camille. I've contacted Comfort Works and asked for a list of replacement legs that will fit on the Kivik. As soon as I get it, I'll publish it in the description of this video. 🌺
Thank you for this review! I have a question: Does the sofa need to be taken apart to change the slipcover, especially as pertains to the frame? For some reason I got the impression that the arms would need to be deconstructed in order to remove the slipcover, and this of course might make thing difficult. I'm looking forwrd to your reply!
I haven’t taken the entire slipcover off because so far it’s been really easy to just wipe clean. However, after looking at it, it appears that you would have to detach the arm to completely remove the cover. Someone can correct me if they’ve had a different experience! Thanks for watching! 😁
@@gardyloo3093 Yes, you have to take the arms off to remove/replace the cover. We have 3 different covers and we change them every few months. I love that they are washable, just don't put them in the dryer or they will shrink!
Thank you for the review, it's very helpful! I'm looking into getting the regular KIVIK (the non sectional one) and it seems like a good option for me. What are your updated thought on your KIVIK sofa?
We still like it just as much. Very comfortable and the cushion covers wash beautifully. The arm covers are harder to get off and wash. But luckily they don’t seem to need it very often! Thanks for watching and for the comment! 😁
Thanks for the review!! I am thinking of getting the same configuration as yours and they now offer the light gray with the fantastic stitching. Question, would the boxes I need for that L shape fit into the back of a Toyota Highlander with the seats down or do we need to rent a small UHaul? Our IKEA is in another town so we plan to go pick-up. Thank you!!!
Hi Kelly. I would say rent the Uhaul! Even though it’s broken down somewhat, there are some large pieces. Similar to picking up two loveseats, a corner piece and a couple of square arms. Hope that helps and yes, the light gray cover is so much better these days! 😁
Funny you say you had the Ektorp then switched it out to the Kivik - I literally had the Ektorp delivered yesterday and I hate it! Am looking at the Kivik too - can I ask what you didn't like about the Ektorp? I am finding that the cushions are very very hard and have absolutely no give I as a very light person am sat on top of it and can't sink into it, if this makes sense. It's very uncomfortable. The Kivik looks to just have memory foam cushions and not the extra padding on top that the Ektorp has.
We liked the Ektorp. However, the Kivik has deeper seat cushions. I’m short but have tall people in my family, so it was more comfortable for them. The memory foam cushions are definitely more “squishy” than the Ektorp. 🏡
Hi there! Can you let me know how it's help up over time? Your couch would be almost two years old now! I'm looking at buying one used, 2 years old - let me know if you recommend. This is great, very helpful!
It held up great for us! Just had to push the bottom cushions back occasionally. The cover went through the washer and dryer (low) many times. We passed it on awhile back because we were changing things up. Hope that helps! 🛋
I bought the Kivik sectional in 2018. The cushions slide around all over the place. This sectional is a real back killer. I sold it on FB Marketplace after 18 months.
can you please specify if the slipcover is just for the couch base or does each individual cushion also have a removable cover? the website doesn't really clarify what covers come with each couch. thanks in advance!
Hi i was wondering if you could tell me if the cushions move around alot and require constant adjustments? They are not attached at all across the back or bottom if not mistaken? Thanks.
Hey there. We don’t find that they move around a lot. Maybe once a week, I pick up the back cushion and slide the seat cushion back a bit. I don’t have to fluff or adjust the upper cushions at all, which I love! Hope that helps. 🌸
The one we have is two loveseats with a corner piece connecting them. So you can place whichever way you want, since neither side is longer. Hope that helps! 🛋🛋🛋
My husband and I were going to buy the VIMLE next month, I was disappointed when I went onto IKEA today to take a look and couldn’t find it anymore! Further research showed it is being discontinued. We are now likely considering the Kivik!
Sure! We recently sold it, and it was still just like new! We have pets, grandkids, and we often eat on it. No problems. Any “stains” came right out when we washed the covers. The cushions and frame held up great. We had it just under three years. 🛋
Hello! Could you please help me...I'm thinking about to buy Ektorp or Kivik sofa... could you tell me, please which one you think is better quality? :) Thanks!!!
Hi Ana. I think they’re both similar in quality. It just really depends on what you’re looking for. The Kivik is a bigger sectional and looks more modern. The Ektorp is great for small spaces and has more of a cottage or farmhouse style. Although it’s smaller, no one in my family had a problem with the size or comfort. Just be sure to measure your space. Hopefully you can get to a showroom and try them both out! I don’t think you could really go wrong with either choice. 😁
Each side of the sectional is the size of a loveseat, with a corner piece in the middle. So it really wouldn’t make a difference if you switch them up. I hope that helps! 🌸
The large gray ones and the large off white one are from IKEA. The pink ones are from Homegoods and the black and white check are from Amazon. I have a gray and white check on the thumbnail, also from IKEA. 🌸

I don’t know for sure. But it seems to me that you would be able to, since there are connectors on each end, and the arms are put onto those. 🏡
