Tangle Teezer was an absolute revelation when I discovered it. My daughter (3 yrs old then) wouldn’t let us brush her hair until this came out. No knots, no pain wet or dry. She 18yrs old now and still only uses this first. My 6 yr old niece presently is the same. Well done to the company 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.
yes!! i have a similar story, when my mum started using the tangle geezer to brush my hair it changed my life, now i’m 18 myself, and i don’t use anything else
This is the brush I always recommend to parents asking for hair care tips for their kids. A normal comb or even a wet brush will rip out their hair if you aren't careful, but the tangle teezer is flexible enough that it's virtually impossible to damage your hair or hurt yourself using it.
It's obvious that Deborah has highlights. You can even see the streaks, and she tried to bullshit a colourist who had to concede that he was looking at the emperor's new clothes.

The problem with the dragons is that they're looking for a business that has already been set up and already in profit/has confirmed orders that will allow them to be in profit right away. They almost never take a bigger risk and invest in a product/idea
That's what I used to think Dragon's Den was when I was a child. A show where anyone can go on with a new product/service and get funding. Whenever someone is successful with the dragons, it's because they're basically already making 5 figure profits and are 90% of the way there.
Yeah, and then they complain that the company founder wants his privately invested money back. That’s just hypocrisy because the dragon’s want the same and (considerably) more for their investment. If that’s such a big deal to the dragons, then negotiate preferential payback, but don’t weasel the founder out of his invested money!
The dragons only make their money back once the founder sells it. And thats the agenda they push through, they push the inventor in selling their business.
It depends. For instance the second guy came in asking for a quarter million, without even having a patent yet. Peter even said “If you came in asking for a lot less, I would’ve invested, but it’s too much”
Rob Law is the founder of Trunki - you know, those little ride-on suitcases you always see kids wheeling around airports on. The Dragons actually rejected the business in the Den, but earlier in 2023 Rob sold the company in a deal thought to be worth over £12million.....BOOM!

If they were established it might help to accelerate the business. Nevertheless I do agree and think they were a bit too rough on these three especially Shaun
Simple answer, accelerated growth of the business. To facilitate expansion sure they could wait years and save the capital to facilitate expansion themselves, getting an investor on board means they can do it alot quicker, and upon expanding the business generate more profit. You obviously dont have much of a grasp on how business works
Not exacly true. They want to see business that is up and running, no need for big profits or amazing amount of sold items - just a proof of concept. That yes - this product exist and people are willing to pay for it. Also - they dont invest just in the business - they invest in the person itself. - someone who looks and sounds like a worthy parther.
Theo’s deliberate attempt to break the trunk I is infuriating… if you ram a car into a wall it’s going to crumple. If you throw a plate on the ground it’ll shatter. Does that make it not fit for purpose…?

Trunki has become and absolutely massive brand, see them everywhere, a household name now! They were so dismissive of him! I'm glad he stood his ground because he clearly knew his stuff and that his product was worth a mint.
It was probably intended to be "don't come here with serious problem that should've been sussed beforehand", and in Theo's mind, the broken hook was an issue which shouldn't have been an issue in the first place. Admittedly, in Theo's defence, it's not great if the product breaks rather easily during the pitch, and playing Devil's advocate here, the designer probably should have made an allowance for a parent pulling on the product, such as, say, if a child gets it stuck down in a gap and a parent tries to pull it up. Bannatyne later talked about Trunki being a pretty major mis-step by the dragons, and it looks to have worked well for him. You'll usually see one or two at the airport in the Summer.

Yeah. Those inventors don't need them. They can get the money from a bank. But the tv appearance though! A commercial for their product at a good spot where a lot of people watch it and at this length - that would surely cost 100.000 €.
Tangle Teezer is an amazing product.. It looks so simple but it's totally different from a conventional hair brush. Most people I know own at least one. I had no idea it started here.
Absolutely love the patent lady going "Well even if you were to get a patent, it'd be meaningless because many other products may look slightly different while doing the same job". That's true of EVERY SINGLE PATENT in the world isn't it? What's the point in all her endless discussions about patents if that's the case then? LOL
Yea. It's a point that has little value. But it is true that it happens often. Big companies can just copy smaller ones. But that would also mean that every single person that comes to the Dragons can have that exact thing happen to them. So it's worthless to point out.
That's not true. And, in order to get a patent, for example when you upgrade an existing patent, there has to be enough of a material difference to actually change the use of the product.
I don't even think this first guy "accused" her of dying her hair. The other Dragon brought it up and was the one who said, "Like her hair?" He just went along with the statement instead of arguing over irrelevant details that are not about the product.

That’s just hypocrisy because the dragon’s want the same and (considerably) more for their investment. If that’s such a big deal to the dragons, then negotiate preferential payback, but don’t weasel the founder out of his invested money!

Exactly. This show has lost its value to me.

James Khan was the best Dragon ever. He just sits there listening to the others arrogant aggression, then comes in with a careful and respectful reply. I'd listen and trust him everyday. He realises the show is about the pitches and not them.
Even as a hairdresser you wouldn’t often see natural hair that is that blonde, why be offended, it’s a complement surely 🙄 I’m so glad he went off and did so well! I’ve got a couple myself!
As a man with naturally blonde hair that is very blonde I feel it is a compliment. Every single time I go to the hairdressers I am asked if I dye my hair and all the girls always compliment it!

His speech is exactly like a lad I work with, who is deaf. He is hard of hearing and possibly even registered deaf (you can see his hearing aid). His nervousness; speed of delivery and lack of preparation, when answering questions, all contributed to his failure and yes, investors have to 'warm to' the people they're investing in. They missed a golden opportunity.
He's deaf. I hope he becomes a future Dragon.
I think he is hearing impaired. I think i saw a hearing aid
Nobody talking about the trunki? a HUGE success, damn even me and my brother used to have them. Seriously, so much fun for little kids to ride around the airport on a fun, colourful trunki- rather than having to walk for ages, or be in a pram, etc.
Honestly, there's really no need for the "Dragons" to be harsh and rude, and condescending to these entrepreneurs. If they question or doubt the viabilities of the products, the message could be conveyed firmly but nicely. Yes they're rich and yes they have the money, but that doesn't make them all-knowing.
TV production after all
it's tele mate, they have to ham it up or else nobody would watch.

I worked as a courtesy coach driver in Cairns, picking people up from the airport. At a rough estimate I would say that 1 in 5 kids had a trunk in.
The dragons are so rude, calling peoples ideas “worthless” making bets that they won’t succeed. They are so sure of themselves and consistently proven wrong. You can let people down gently if you’re not interested. You don’t have to belittle them
It feels a bit rich for the dragons to go on ranting about how it makes them mad that their time is wasted when they're literally getting paid to listen. That's even forgetting the fact they were so aggressively wrong and rude.
Do you realize they get paid peanuts? Its they are there to invest they aren't paid to listen... £15k for 12episodes is nothing for them, considering some of hem are worth half billion - this about this for a seconond before splitting bs.
If you think they are rude, then never start a busines.

Cool to see the guy who created the only brush that will go through my hair. Should have been some curly headed dragons, maybe they wouldn't have effed up on this one.
I have long thick curly hair and also love my tangle teezer. But also check out the Denman brush
I love the mindset of the first guy!
They criticised him and he took on that advice and became so successful! We love to see that!! So happy for him!
Duncan saying (The Tangle Teezer) "it won't make any money" 😂. It's so cool to watch the dragons seem so confident when they rip these businesses apart and they end up being completely wrong!
100% should show that the opinion of ANYONE at all should never be taken as fact no matter how high up they are

True that!
Yeah. Those inventors don't need them. They can get the money from a bank. But the tv appearance though! A commercial for their product at a good spot where a lot of people watch it and at this length - that would surely cost 100.000 €.
@@JIKitty that's the point, free marketing, pretty sure you've seen those ads by companies using their successful shark tank or dragons den segments

Well, not all parents are created equal. Some can be designed around, others cannot.
That's not true. And, in order to get a patent, for example when you upgrade an existing patent, there has to be enough of a material difference to actually change the use of the product.
Now everyone has a tangle teezer.
except, notably, Boris Johnson?

Shaun is incredibly impressive, not in his success in the business (although that is impressive in its own right) but in his humility. He didn't get remotely defensive or off-put from his experience in the den, and instead, took everything of value that they had to say and applied it. We can all learn from him
