That radiator baseboard is a brilliant idea and I don't understand why the guy didn't offer the angle of installing it during the construction of the house or apartment complex. That could have changed everything because when The Dragons would have obviously asked why you'd do it if the price is higher, they could have responded by pointing out that there are people who care about form over price.
Exactly. It's not a retrofitted product. It could be installed in all new homes. I just wonder if it has the ability to push out enough heat and if it were dangerous to children accidently touching the skirting board.
I don’t necessarily agree with Theo, simply because the guy can raise funds in addition to his £400k capital injection at times of filming, shouldn’t always dictate an immediate out as most pitching requires the experience and contact of a dragon. On occasion this could be secondary to the actual investment funds.
In December 2016, Just Eat announced that it was acquiring Hungryhouse from Delivery Hero for £200 million (with the possibility of a further £40 million if the company hits performance targets), subject to regulatory approval.
I love this upload, thank you so much!! it was actually sweet to see them go back and talk to the people they had turned away. Theo particularly was great. Loved the dog bowl lady and the radiator guy.
Hungry House was sold in 2013 to a German company, it then was brought out by Just Eat in 2016 for 200 million. A nice little profit for those involved.
So Just Eat paid £200m + for Hungry House back in 2016.... Not a bad ending at all. The boys always said they wanted to build something that they could exit on top. Well done to them...

Radiator guy was told by everyone that he was too smart and couldnt assist him because they had no idea what was going on in his industry. Im happy for him.
alot has changed for Hungry House, but one thing I did notice in this is the use of the word "Fax" and concerns about the restaurants paying. It is very easy to look at the market now and say the Dragons missed out, BUT on the business pitched, you can see why the deal never happened. Had they pitched it with "live link" then yeah it would be easy to say the Dragons made a mistake.
I was cheering for that woman with the dog bowl after I found out how successful she became. What an absolutely incredible, exceptional lady!! Couldn’t have deserved it more
I honestly feel like them not investing in Hungry House was good. Hungry House succeeded massively without them. They may have held them back. I've seen some businesses be invested in by the Dragons and they aren't doing exactly amazingly.
Loved Martin the Radiator man especially sticking it to Duncan. Theo he doesn't need the money he needs the expertise and contacts of the Dragons ! This is why he's here. Glad he made millions
LMAO - the arrogance of those two was ridiculous - they could possibly say that to any entrepreneur - its more a reflection on them so why are they there? Unless they're just trying to get ratings
heated skirts.. omfg you just know these dragons never builded the house.. or at least look at the price before saying yes.. its a great idea. so many people pay sooooo much more to get floor heating. skirts is a great (leaning at the low) middle option!!! absolutely love the concept!!!
Wrong. They are equivalent to a medium sized single panel radiator with no convectors. They will be absolutely hopeless with the low flow temperatures required for good heating efficiency especially with heat pumps. A good idea on the surface but it is rubbish on close inspection.
Some of the excuses the Dragons came up with for not investing in some of those peoples ideas sounded irrational to me. Like Theo asking the heating guy, Martin, if he himself could find a few thousand to invest in an idea and because he said 'yes' Theo then turned around and said "ah, well you don't need me then so I'm out". What utter nonsense. The guy was just answering the question hypothetically, it doesn't mean he couldn't use an investor himself in the moment!
Lol I can imagine the guy that invested the toaster trying to get investment and they'd all be like "who wants a device purely for toasting bread, this is nonsense" "why would I use this when I can toast bread under the grill" "there's a reason no one's come up with this before"
I dont know if he still owns the business but the radiator guys business is still in business and seems to be going well so props to the guy he saw it all the way through ❤
Watching now seeing how they missed out on some of these you have to question how much they are in touch with reality sometimes, missing out on hungryhouse was so foolish. What a lucrative business deal they missed out on 😅
I think there's one reason that the Dragons didn't invest in the skirting bloke, and James Khan alluded to it. The Dragons were intimidated by him. They could see he is very capable, and they wouldn't be able to direct and dominate him.
One of the main inventors of Danish Just-Eat that bought Hungryhouse indirectly for £200 million in 2018, is actually the Peter Jones of the Danish version of Dragon's Den. Here, it's just called Lion's Den.
With the skirting board heating Theo knew that the bloke didn't need the money but he wanted his name and expertise onboard. It's not about 100% money on here. Quite a few go on to get a dragon onboard to speed up processes and to open doors!
They can't invest in every idea that comes along, so naturally there will be the ones that got away. Success stories outside of the Den are great. Glad to see the fruits of their labor even if they didn't get a Dragon.
I can see more of a use in commercial sites, big offices etc. Only way it would take off well in new builds is if it didn't look so generic. If someone is building their house they'll want nice decorative skirting not some flat, brushed aluminium skirting. If he could make it replicating current popular designs and have a catalogue of different designs he could be onto something then. It would probably cost too much production wise though in his site to be making multiple ranges!

They were right that food delivery is a bad business, but wrong that it's a good investment.
Just Eat (which would have the best economies of scale) was making a loss of 350M in 2021.
@@fleischwolf82
You don't know why they made a loss you muppet.
This program actually humiliated the Dragons many times. It goes to show that past success is often not a predictor of future success.
Im so happy the dog bowl was successful. This lady deserves everything.
The radiator skirting board guy struck wholesale deals with house building firms all over. Those skirtings are in new builds all over the place now.
People will regret having them when they have to fit a heat pump.
The recent reviews for his business are not great.
Deborah saying I don't think people sit there and decide what they want to eat, is basically what she just said 😂
That radiator baseboard is a brilliant idea and I don't understand why the guy didn't offer the angle of installing it during the construction of the house or apartment complex.
I am more interested in how does he joins multiple panels. Also the surface would be less in my home than a radiator
I don’t necessarily agree with Theo, simply because the guy can raise funds in addition to his £400k capital injection at times of filming, shouldn’t always dictate an immediate out as most pitching requires the experience and contact of a dragon. On occasion this could be secondary to the actual investment funds.
He didn’t even listen to Martin. Martin needs the contacts. Theo lost the plot on this one. Go back to sleep Theo. 😂
The greatest come back in Dragons den history, "It's an idea, but I don't think I'll be exploring it!".
Hungry house sold to justeat for £200 million , Duncan and James going 🤯
as a product designer, the skirting board radiator is genius…
In December 2016, Just Eat announced that it was acquiring Hungryhouse from Delivery Hero for £200 million (with the possibility of a further £40 million if the company hits performance targets), subject to regulatory approval.
One of the founders of Just Eat - Jesper Buch - is one of the investors in the Danish edition of Dragons' Den - Løvens Hule.
This program should be called DEN OF THEVES !!!!
10:00 "It's an idea but I won't be exploring it" I love Bolton people and their directness
Delivery Hero
*bought out. Not brought out. Two completely different words.
😮😮😮😮 200 million.
Those two founders invested 98% back into delivery hero and got a good chunk of the 200 million
Natalie is a pure inspiration, so very well done to her vision and determination in her product.
So Just Eat paid £200m + for Hungry House back in 2016.... Not a bad ending at all. The boys always said they wanted to build something that they could exit on top. Well done to them...
“There is no value in system design.”
What a crappy way to look at Internet businesses 😂
Radiator guy is a breath of fresh air and is where intelligence meets empty minds with money, INTELLIGENCE ALWAYS WINS! Way to go Martin! Bet the dragons are not so high and mighty now! 🤣
Loved the guy on the first clip, took no crap from the Dragon's, especially Duncan. And proved them all wrong..
"Give me your address and I'll come round." F*cking hilarious!
Radiator guy was told by everyone that he was too smart and couldnt assist him because they had no idea what was going on in his industry.
Im happy for him.
I've always wonder about the future business outcomes of the inventions shown on the show. This is well worth it to see. Thank you so much.
alot has changed for Hungry House, but one thing I did notice in this is the use of the word "Fax" and concerns about the restaurants paying. It is very easy to look at the market now and say the Dragons missed out, BUT on the business pitched, you can see why the deal never happened. Had they pitched it with "live link" then yeah it would be easy to say the Dragons made a mistake.
Very well done to the people who found success independently. Especially loved the girl with the spill free dog bowl. 🤗
That’s my nana she is a lovely women and is really trying to push her business further by 2030 we’re on the path of doing so now
Wow … The heating skirting board was amazing. I’m a gas engineer and every house built should be fitted with this
That denmark competitor that 'will eventually just buy you out' was just eat and did buy them out lol
They were insane not to invest in the first guy. Who the hell watches that pitch and doesn't think he's going to be successful?
I was cheering for that woman with the dog bowl after I found out how successful she became. What an absolutely incredible, exceptional lady!! Couldn’t have deserved it more
I honestly feel like them not investing in Hungry House was good. Hungry House succeeded massively without them. They may have held them back. I've seen some businesses be invested in by the Dragons and they aren't doing exactly amazingly.
"You've got a flourishing business?, you don't need me, I'm out!"
You've got a business that has not taken off yet? I'm out"
I bet the Dragons are secretly kicking themselves every time they see the Just Eat advert on TV.
I think they understand that opportunities come and go all the time and there is no reason to kick themselves.
they seemed to worried and too focused on hungry house competitors
Wish Duncan had been the one to visit the first business so he could have had egg on his face after saying it wouldn’t work etc. 😂
In this case of Martin and the skirting radiator, Theo totally flipped Martin's point when he said he needed a dragon to get into the bigger markets!.
I’m sure the first guy just went on there to advertise his product. What a genius
Radiator guy was simply to strongheaded for any of them to work with i think.... His (justified) confidence scared them.
Loved Martin the Radiator man especially sticking it to Duncan. Theo he doesn't need the money he needs the expertise and contacts of the Dragons ! This is why he's here. Glad he made millions
Imagine Peter telling Just Eat or Uber Eats what's so special about you?
Or Deborah saying people don't need a choice of food. 😂😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Duncan actually built a couple nursing homes, not that he was involved in the labour, but he does have building experience
Wrong. They are equivalent to a medium sized single panel radiator with no convectors. They will be absolutely hopeless with the low flow temperatures required for good heating efficiency especially with heat pumps. A good idea on the surface but it is rubbish on close inspection.
Those guys pitching hungryhouse are now worth more than Deborah Meaden 😂
So many Billy Big Bollocks in one room - loved the heating man especially when he buried Duncan B
42:55 hungryhouse was later sold for £200M...Duncan would've made an astronomical profit on his investment.
Lol I can imagine the guy that invested the toaster trying to get investment and they'd all be like "who wants a device purely for toasting bread, this is nonsense" "why would I use this when I can toast bread under the grill" "there's a reason no one's come up with this before"
I dont know if he still owns the business but the radiator guys business is still in business and seems to be going well so props to the guy he saw it all the way through ❤
Yes finally the video we have been waiting for !!
No! I wanna see the jennie video
It's not out yet.
@@Juvie99 do you mean the "home video"? 🤣
Watching now seeing how they missed out on some of these you have to question how much they are in touch with reality sometimes, missing out on hungryhouse was so foolish. What a lucrative business deal they missed out on 😅
Especially Duncan, he had two chances
Problem is they are easily influenced by the other dragons focusing on the reasons why it wouldn't work
I think there's one reason that the Dragons didn't invest in the skirting bloke, and James Khan alluded to it. The Dragons were intimidated by him. They could see he is very capable, and they wouldn't be able to direct and dominate him.
I loved how the first guy talked back to Duncan lol
Hungry house/just eat is now worth over 17bn and is the main reason why online takeway is so huge now. Those dragons took a major L
One of the main inventors of Danish Just-Eat that bought Hungryhouse indirectly for £200 million in 2018, is actually the Peter Jones of the Danish version of Dragon's Den.
Here, it's just called Lion's Den.
It's always great when the dragons try to be smart and funny for the cameras and end up making a fool of themselves by missing golden opportunities
that's crazy, I literally just ordered a couple of weeks back one of those non spill dog bowls, and its already here. Kind of ironic.
Water coincidence.
@@RockyDave Your comment is a little hidden underrated gem!
@@goldeneddie Thank you! I have my moments.
'If you must know I had a TIA'
Theo's face was cracking.
Ducan and his ego😂😂 that was one snappy comment😂😂😂
38:13 do you think that you could get your editor to increase the volume a bit here? I can almost hear the commentary.
Right? All I want are those sick beats.
The arrogance of the Dragons never ceases to amaze me, they are only where they are from the sweat of others.
Jenny Campbell would have no interest in a food delivery service as she prefers to eat out.
You could replace “food delivery service” with “none spill dog bowl” and it would still apply.
What a clever idea, to put heating in the skirting boards.
With the skirting board heating Theo knew that the bloke didn't need the money but he wanted his name and expertise onboard. It's not about 100% money on here. Quite a few go on to get a dragon onboard to speed up processes and to open doors!
The Dragons could never have predicted Covid for the growth in food deliveries too
it was still big pre covid, but yeah its insane now. You can stand in a McDonalds or a KFC, and its just you and 10 delivery people.
Yes. And also how old is this? All dragon’s look really young.
Jenny: "I'm 'so out' you can't even see me in those episodes".
out of the series.
The baseboard guy was hilarious!😂
I see they've missed out the door entry system for nightclubs which they ripped to shreds and called ridiculous. The owner sold for £47 million.
I can't find this, do you have any more info please? Sounds funny.
They can't invest in every idea that comes along, so naturally there will be the ones that got away. Success stories outside of the Den are great. Glad to see the fruits of their labor even if they didn't get a Dragon.
I''ve got one of those dog bowls in my kitchen right now. Had it for over 5 years. It is a great product.
Radiator idea is great for new builds, hate the idea of retrofitting it.
