It really intrigues me how people are born with their brains "wired" differently. I can't even play the radio, but I'm a whiz at mechanical stuff. Emily is not only a piano savant, she is humble to a fault and has a sparkling personality. What a treasure she is!
I would think " Journey to my heart " is not a song to dedicate to a parent. And where she has no love interest, she had no answer. Cheers for home schooling!! Just amazing how mature she is in all the videos... 2 thumbs up to her folks. Just adorable
isn't it almost MORE impressive that she's able to have her childhood and enjoy other things while ALSO developing into what will be probably the greatest composer of our time? mozart probably just did music day in and day out...doesn't that put him BEHIND her if you are measuring who accomplished more at a younger age?
It's both a skill and a gift. Many children don't have nearly the talent for piano even though they might practice just as much if not more often than Emily. It takes both a natural gift and understanding of music, AND skill from practice to be able to do this. There are people who have been practicing for years that aren't as good as Emily Bear at composing and performing their music.
She reminds me of a story I read once, in where the artist's teacher was quoted in part as saying "how can I teach her? I can only guide her." Truly amazing talent.
she has 'musical savant' like capability .. rare talent.. in her interviews she says the song just comes out.. thats genius for you.. cant wait to see how much more amazing stuff she will do when she becomes an adult
yeah, i totally agree with you, tannaz7. im also 15 and play piano composing music from your heart is the most important thing that's forgotten by many people, so keep it up! im rooting for you, Emily!
God bless this prodigy may you live long happy and continue to inspire not only children around the world but all of us who love piano and music as much as you do if that is possible :) Love you..
I will admit that I was a bit skeptical; I knew Emily was an amazing pianist, and when I heard she wrote her own pieces, I just assumed that she wrote them on the spot and then forgot about them (much like I do with mine =/ ) ...When a 7 year old can play an original composition more than once...you know it's not B.S...this girl is phenomenal... Thank you Emily...I have been owned.
i loveee her music.. you can even see her own style of piano. such an incredible thing for being so young. she shouldn't be considered a prodigy... she should be considered a composer for her music is just as powerfull and matue as mozart
That's incredible! What's she going to be playing when she's 15?!! So lovely. This is the song I like best so far of the ones I've heard of hers. She has a kind and confident way of being too. Good girl. You keep that up. love and blessings to you. Rachel in Canada
What a sweetheart! So cute and beautiful and talented. I really don't think she's the kind of kid of get a big ego from all the attention, she seems very mature and charming and I think she'll keep her feet on the ground.
to be a composer at such an age, 7, there's got to be something special about this kid, some innate gift; that's where she shares Mozarts character, that gift.
she has incredibly amazing talent o.o i don't know how she can write songs so beautifully. I played for 5 years, and i only wrote 3 songs which sounds like nothing compared to hers
Autism isn't always a very severe disruption. There are a lot of different forms that autism takes. A friend of mine is autistic, and she's able to communicate herself quite well. I've taken a few tests myself and I very likely have a mild form of autism as well. It shows in many different ways. It shows in personality traits and the way you see the world. It doesn't always inhibit a persons ability to communicate, it changes how they view and understand things.
SHE COMPOSED THIS?! OMG :O I was proud of being able to play a grade 6 song in a day, this little girl is composing probably a grade 6/7 song?! :O OMG I'm so jealous! :O
@Annrawwhhh Emily plays "Flight of the Bumblebee" I have it in one of my you tube videos called "Emily Bear Academic All Star Salute 5-27-2010" it is the fourth song she plays...btw...she learned the song from her grandmother
Emily is just an incredible young girl. Shes soo talented and absolutely adorable. Her songs are so great and emotional and moving. This one is one of my favourites. Love her.
@hellopoppet06 Yes, indeed, I like the way she stares at whoever interviews her. There's such sweet intensity at the way she looks at people in the eyes and so much innocence at the same time. She has a way of looking at people which is uncommon nowadays; like, you're the only person who matters in the room while you speak to her. Rarer still to see adults behave like that!
Oh, I was misinformed by another video then. That's great! She seems so passionate...I don't doubt that she will go far with any type of music career (when the time comes). Good for her!!!
Jared, sorry I was trying to give your comment a thumbs up and I missed - don't know how to change it, sorry. I loveee her music too. I agree totally with you. I bet she's BETTER than Mozart.
@TwelfthRoot2 So many great artists have died young. It makes you wonder how many great men and women never even arrived at the time in their lives when their greatness could be made apparent. It also makes you realize that you need to work on improving your own talents while you still have the time.
@hellopoppet06. Yes, she was staring at the interviewer. Emily is probably not used to being talked to as if she were a child, which, of course, she in not intellectually.
@MsCheesexx After watching so many vids already of Emily Bear I tend to agree with your observation. But surely that will all change as she grows. Like it's been said, "Got to keep an eye out for this little one." :)
ABSOlUtElY A BREAtH tAkiNG SONG...SHE iS AMAZiNG AND DEfiNAtElY PlAYS fROM HER HEARt, AND lEtS EVERYONE REAllY GEt 2 kNO HER tRUE SElf tHROUGH HER MUSiC..
Adults sometimes are complete and utter morons when they are in the presense of young children who come into this world with extraordinary gifts. Clearly Emily has a special spiritual gift with its' origins from her soul.
correction: you can ABSOLUTELY compare her to mozart. she was this good after playing/taking lessons for 10 months. she could probably compose entire concertos and sonatas right now that are as good as mozart, and she's NINE years old!
No, I'm just saying that it's a possibility that many of the very intelligent people of our past/current times may have had a very mild form of autism. VERY mild. It's not a sickness, or a disease. It can be a gift. It can open ones mind and give them the ability to see things differently than others. It can give them a learning boost, or an incredible talent or aptitude for something. A lot of very intelligent people were left-handed, as well, which means they used their brains differently.
I am a health woman and I have autistic. I have also been playing the piano since I was 5. What's so bad about people like me? There is also no such thing as 'normal', everyone is different. I feel gifted because of my autism. Why is that so insulting?
@crr1950 Your right but they are not exposed to socializing with their peers to the extent that public school students are. Almost every home schooled person I know is socially awkward in some way. Although I think Emily should be fine since she is getting exposed to many different types of social interaction due to her being widely publicized.
Mozart was kind of forced to do music day in and day out. In addition, I wouldnt compare Emily to Mozart right now already, although its very impressive what she does. If she continues studying, and getting better and better, she's on a good way to become the best musician of these days.
Autism can be a gift as well as a curse. She very likely does have some form of it. It is very likely the autism that enables her to have such a dedication to the music. Any child who didn't have such dedication or fascination to the music wouldn't be composing and writing their own songs, they wouldn't /want/ to do it. A lot more people have a very mild form of autism than you would think. I don't know the comment you're replying to, I don't know what they said...but she could be autistic.
Once every 300 years comes along a person that has an ability from God that only the Lord himself has. SHE IS THE NEXT MOZART. You watch and see! Where can I get the sheet music to Journey to my heart.
I hold this song really close to my heart.
Wow. I can't even talk about it, it makes me speechless and breathless.
It's just... wow.
xx
It really intrigues me how people are born with their brains "wired" differently. I can't even play the radio, but I'm a whiz at mechanical stuff. Emily is not only a piano savant, she is humble to a fault and has a sparkling personality. What a treasure she is!
omgoodnesss,
Her music is so... pure.
AND I've noticed that the titles
she has for each of her compositions
is JUST the PERFECT title for it.
I keep coming back to this video. I have done this for years. I forward to the music and listen again.
She never needs her charts, no matter whether she plays her own pieces or others. Amazing!
OMG. That's one of the prettiest pieces of music that I have ever heard.
I would think " Journey to my heart " is not a song to dedicate to a parent.
And where she has no love interest, she had no answer.
Cheers for home schooling!!
Just amazing how mature she is in all the videos...
2 thumbs up to her folks. Just adorable
This piece makes me flow in so many colors.
I feel like I'm looking at a blossom tree in a green grass meadow.
Beautiful.
I'm obsessed.
isn't it almost MORE impressive that she's able to have her childhood and enjoy other things while ALSO developing into what will be probably the greatest composer of our time? mozart probably just did music day in and day out...doesn't that put him BEHIND her if you are measuring who accomplished more at a younger age?
My favorite song, man I can listen to her forever, awesome
One of my favourite songs. This song changes me.

I cant believe this! She should go on Americas Got Talent...and bring home 1 million bucks.
Beautifully composed piece of music,...she has a knack for a catchy rift too!
Absolutely beautiful! I could care less about what some of you critics say, this girl has an amazing gift.
She reminds me of a story I read once, in where the artist's teacher was quoted in part as saying "how can I teach her? I can only guide her." Truly amazing talent.

I can place now too! :) but nowhere near as well as you Emily!!!
Ok I see it. I was looking for the individual piece. Thanks!
she is so cute ! I really hope she goes as far as Mozart and lives longer !
That's incredible! What's she going to be playing when she's 15?!! So lovely. This is the song I like best so far of the ones I've heard of hers. She has a kind and confident way of being too. Good girl. You keep that up. love and blessings to you. Rachel in Canada

Awesome!! I went and purchased this piece on iTunes.
As a side not, I thought the host was actually pretty cool.
she ´cute and talented and loves what she does :-)
Great composition. You go girl!
she has incredibly amazing talent o.o
i don't know how she can write songs so beautifully. I played for 5 years, and i only wrote 3 songs which sounds like nothing compared to hers
Very beautiful.
She is a music box from inside of her heart
She is the cutest kid too.
I bought her songbook and now I'm learning how to play it but it's realy difficould! But I love this song so much!

All musical styles are eventually melded together into new styles.
Emily is just an incredible young girl. Shes soo talented and absolutely adorable. Her songs are so great and emotional and moving. This one is one of my favourites. Love her.

this one of my fav.. i think she woud be amazing combinding her stuff with hiphop
Aww, the foot pedals are raised for her.
What an amazing talent for a 6-year old girl!
Oh, I was misinformed by another video then. That's great! She seems so passionate...I don't doubt that she will go far with any type of music career (when the time comes). Good for her!!!
@yeahitsmEms23 I've noticed that too ! ^^ I have no idea why, but she definitely doesn't want to dedicate the song to her mother ! !
wow. that is a really nice music.
Jared, sorry I was trying to give your comment a thumbs up and I missed - don't know how to change it, sorry. I loveee her music too. I agree totally with you. I bet she's BETTER than Mozart.

i like how she looks right in the peoples eyes! :)
I AGREE!
she plays boogie!! ooh, i gotta look that up.
thepianxx, I like what you wrote. This song changes me too.
1:06 she looks really confused! i love the kid in her!
(:
I like your response to this video.
I agree with you.
I can't wait till she gets older and composes longer songs.
Not trying to dwongrade her she is amazing
@hellopoppet06. Yes, she was staring at the interviewer. Emily is probably not used to being talked to as if she were a child, which, of course, she in not intellectually.

her parents should write a book on parenting. lol I'd buy it.
Adults sometimes are complete and utter morons when they are in the presense of young children who come into this world with extraordinary gifts. Clearly Emily has a special spiritual gift with its' origins from her soul.
if she wrote that, im in awe.
agreed! Mozart is one of a kind
correction: you can ABSOLUTELY compare her to mozart.

She IS.
@thezebradonkey Thank you...I had forgotten that I could still raise the ire of people incapable of appreciating the performing arts :-)
cool :D
Im in to hip hop/Rap but this is some of the best shit ive heard!
Homeschooled. Not surprised.
I am a health woman and I have autistic. I have also been playing the piano since I was 5.
What's so bad about people like me?
There is also no such thing as 'normal', everyone is different. I feel gifted because of my autism. Why is that so insulting?
When home schooling goes right :-)
@J0EH3AD Homeschooled kids normally do socialize with their peers. Not sure why people don;t think they do... Oh my!
I would love to be homescoled. amazing Song
I like that Emily
@crr1950 Your right but they are not exposed to socializing with their peers to the extent that public school students are. Almost every home schooled person I know is socially awkward in some way. Although I think Emily should be fine since she is getting exposed to many different types of social interaction due to her being widely publicized.
This sheet music is available next week?! I emailed her representative months ago seeing if I could get this notes haha.
I don't see her sheet music for this piece posted yet
Mozart was kind of forced to do music day in and day out. In addition, I wouldnt compare Emily to Mozart right now already, although its very impressive what she does. If she continues studying, and getting better and better, she's on a good way to become the best musician of these days.
MOZART KID IS 10000000000 MORE GENIUS
That reporter seemed like she was putting the moves on little Emily. :-p
do you know where i can get some of her music for free
Autism can be a gift as well as a curse. She very likely does have some form of it.

this is more on mozart lines =) awesome
