@@nworder4life I recently finished the Switch version of the game. It definitely received a lot of fixes, but the game still has a very high tendency to randomly crash. I was saving my game at every possible opportunity to avoid losing progress. Towards the end it got very frustrating... one of the areas the game crashed the most was when entering your headquarters, which is something you will be doing quite often! 😅
On the 1 hand, we got the finished game. On the other hand...all the extras that we paid for are taking too long and we aren't getting updates about it. I ordered the archivists set so I can get the art book and collector cards and that was 4 years ago I believe.....I want my package that I paid good money for. I wonder if Murayama's death had anything to do with this...he was the president of the company after all.
It sucks that it's taking so long. They've had 4 years since they got funded to get these physical rewards complete, and they're nowhere near ready yet. People could be waiting another year or more. His death may have had something to do with it, and with Junko Kawano's involvement with the Suikoden HD Remaster, they're probably light staffed for creative and management decisions right now and that could be affecting the Kickstarter rewards and PR, but someone needs to step up. The whole thing is a big unfortunate mess.
I really like the game. Loved the characters, the setting, the world, the soundtrack, the minigames. The story unfortunately was hit and miss. It started off great, but suffered from poor pacing and questionable decisions in the latter half. I'd like to make some videos on it similar to the Suikoden videos I've been making. But I've been waiting for the DLC chapters so I can get the full story before deciding.
6:13 thats something that actualy does not work that way, the boost is always in the direction where the ship is facing, how the hell does he manage to get the ship boost to the right when the ship is turned that way, or was it later changed with an update?
I done that at launch. I don't know if it has changed over the last couple of months since I last played the Shi'arc racing, but I never had or experienced the issues or problems people complain about with Shi'arc racing.
This Campaign quickly went from Amazing to an absolute Train Wreck, YeeTee are a nightmare to deal with and as for Rabbit and Bear and 505 you are spot on, as a massive Suikoden fan I couldn't even bring myself to finish the game as I just didn't want too because of the poor treatment with issues. Eiyuden fans deserved better but it very much feels like we gave them our money, and then we were forgotten about. will never back another console game on Kickstarter again as its just too much hassle - was charged £15 for a disc to be delivered. disgusting.
As much as I liked the game as a whole. There's just too many problems surrounding the game to ignore. I genuinely think they could ease or resolve most of the issues and frustrations with the community if they'd just communicate and update people regularly. YeeTee have been a disaster, issues with key distribution from people being sent incorrect keys to not receiving any at all, outrageous costs for postage and packaging.
as a trophy hunter only one stupid problem they didnt address in this game, the stupid rare finds in shops. the rest are grindable and the bug of 1 missing treasure if u mess up your first playthrough with the recipe.
You can grind rare finds too. The shops reset after some irl time, but it won't generate the item list until you talk to the shopkeeper. So you can save right before going to the shop and reload your save until the rare finds item shows up
I haven't backed many things on Kickstarter, but it's been a mixed experience. I've had some good experiences with Kickstarter, like Legends of Callasia The Stoneborne from Boomzap which went perfectly. Wonderful developers, and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. And I've had some stinker experiences. I backed a game called Cryamore 10 years ago. It looked incredible, I was super hyped for it. But that whole thing was a disaster full of drama. The lead on the project, I think his name was Rob or something, had a melt down and attacked the backers several times and played the victim because people wanted progress updates. He promised to issue refunds, but nobody seemed to have gotten a refund. He even had the audacity to start a gofundme to raise money to pay back the backers. And then on an instagram story this year he went on another rant once again attacking people while playing the victim and saying he never intended to pay anybody back. He's a narcissistic, scammer.
Agreed about the war battles. They were all overly scripted to the point where they may as well have been cutscenes. I liked the minigames though, except for the Eggfoot stuff. That was tedious.
i really liked the cards minigame, also the sandboat racing chalenges was ok, but all other minigames was weak, they had too less involvement for the player. Same for the war battles, too less options for me to configure, if i want to have a unit army of only mages i should be able to do that and if they die then leave it to the player figure out the best combination, there was a lot of gameplay potencial lost.

@@CulganValya agree its kinda really addicting though . i would say only A and S players kinda provides some difficulty but not that much .. your main saboteur is if you accidently discarded the wrong card or Placed a high card on a 1 crown match .
Hoenstly this game has made me stop backing projects altogether the handling of all of it has been apauling. Using Yetee for distribution was an AWFUL choice as they were simply too small to do it. Also they looked for and found a publisher so why didn't they use the publisher and their links to send out copies as part of the deal? But the biggest kick in the teeth was a the exclusive backer cover. We didn't get an official one other than one you can print yourself and was of poor quality and looked like they made it in a few minutes. I along with most others expected an actual backers cover professionally printed which would also increase the value of the game. Then there's the DLC how does it take a long time to send out codes to backers?? I mean they are simply codes. I believe that as an excuse (something the devs have made a lot of so far). So yeah I feel the whole things been handled poorly and at this point don't even expect to get the DLC codes. They could have at least give us codes for the other DLC they released that backers didn't get as an apology but they didn't even do that. We just got a crappy print your own cover. On that note at first they said they couldn't send codes out with copies when sent out then were like, we are going to work with yetee to get them to you free of charge and then we got the printed one to get backers off their backs. Oh also you can now buy the DLC on steam so you would have it in your library before backers (you would get the games DLC on same day though).
Print your own non-reversible incomplete cover! I really like the game, but the whole project has been a poorly handled mess on just about every level when it comes to them interacting with backings and keeping people informed.
They really need to give the mini digital artbook and soundtrack to people who backed for the artbook and soundtrack as an apology. There is absolutely no reason these things should be taking so long.
Agreed. Even though the game has a lot of problems. I had more fun playing it than any other rpg I played in recent years. Eiyuden really scratched that nostalgic itch.

The game is simply not on Suikoden's level. I don't think it's a bad game, and I did enjoy it despite its many flaws, but It's definitely worse than Suikoden 1, 2 and 5. It's better than 4, and debatably around the level of Suikoden 3. There were so many problems with the game on a basic level, and there were many strange design choices and pacing problems, that frankly, people of Yoshitaka Murayama and Junko Kawano's experience shouldn't have been making. Even though it had a very long list of problems, I did enjoy my time with the game.
@ i agree ,now im on 12 hours on this game and its not feeling good because this game is somewhat labeled as suikoden series since kickstart begin.Maybe i should lowered my expectation and try to feel this new series
Cooking game was completely weird. Just couldn't get the logic right, no matter what recipe you use, coconut water just triumps... always. Plus the story was horrible, standard ambition vs whatever, sister comes back... who is basically missing throughout, so no character building there. It is poorly written. No major character deaths. Also I do not like the idea of walking sharks... really just don't And that top game was horrible. The collection process took practically the entire game... even late game if you do not collect the most powerful monsters you will miss out on that character. Hated that since it needed late game mini game completion. Like completing the mini game... And the game is 2.5d... and it had horrid switch and even pc performance.. horrible performance until 1.0.7 i think, and the recruitment bug (you meet the character and not recruit and he gets locked). You had to wait until 1.0.4 for that to be resolved.
Cooking minigame was severely bugged for 2 months. Every dish was being rated as an appetizer, so main courses and deserts were punished. It got fixed a few months ago and should be working fine now. Every character has their own personal tastes with food and score according to their tastes. I don't think the story was horrible. I think it was okay, but it certainly wasn't memorable. It was passable. But compared to the stories in Suikoden? It was a let down and I can definitely see why people are disappointed by it. It had high expectations to live up to and it couldn't reach those heights.
It was a great foundation for a new series. There's a lot for a sequel to build off of and become something really special. I wouldn't go as high as a 9.5, I'd rate it a 7 or 7.5/10. As good as many parts of the game were, I felt the story overall was lacking and was a bit of a let down at times.
@@CulganValya The story was meh because our hero was a blank slate, which is weird because he was voice acted LOL. I couldn't connect to him oo figure out why everybody wanted to be led by him. I'd still give it an 8 out of 10 because at it's core, it's Suikoden in everything but name.

I agree, they should take all the time they need for the DLC. But for the Kickstarter rewards? Realistically, how much more time does one need? They've had 4 years already. They need to communicate more.
Calling them scumbagg might be a bit too harsh. I think they just grossly underestimated the amount of work that would be involved in the kickstarter side of things and were unprepared for it.
Maybe they realized the original game should have had decent writing, good character development and all that without the need for DLC, grew to understand that Eiyuden was a poor imitation of Suikoden and intend to make a mass announcement that they’re giving us our 43$ back? Maybe?
This game is a compete joke....just like Rabbit & Bear. In addition to the KS rewards & DLC delays....the game is still riddled w/bugs & crashes, text/UI errors & issues, combat balancing problems....the list goes on. Glad I was able to get a refund for this & definitely will not be considering it again anytime soon, if ever.
Marisa is written a little too strong but other than that it doesnt have enough 'wokeness' to warrant that label. The important generals are often battle hardened males for instance. For every strong female like Electra there is a Wayve, Goldwyn or Melridge.

But everyone had different issues. Some people thought there were problems with the games script and it had pacing issues. Some people hated the translation. Some thought there were poor design choices. Some hated the minigames, some loved the minigames. It's really down to personal tastes.
Honestly, it is a fun game. Wait for the DLC's, and then grab the game 50% off at Christmas or something. It's worth a playthrough as it is fun.
@@CulganValya Is the switch version fixed?
@@nworder4life I'm not sure. I know it received a lot of patches to improve performance, but I haven't tested the Switch version since it got the patches.
@@nworder4lifeseems like it. I have the switch version and while a bit slow still it was not nearly as slow as it used to be. The game crashed a couple of times on me though, when walking through the castle
I'm waiting for rising to go on sale. Already bought physical hundred heroes.
Rising is a surprising amount of fun. Well worth picking up.
There is a reason i only got the standard game. Seeing how much isnt going as planned for them. Im happy i only got the standard game
Culgan, what did you think of Eiyuden in general since it's been a while since it came out? Do you plan to make more videos about this game?
Right now it says at the Switch store page that all the DLCs are going to be available at Dec-31-2025! 😮 (More than 1 year from now!!)
Any time something is given a release date like that, it's a placeholder date. Don't worry too much about it.
So you can save right before going to the shop and reload your save until the rare finds item shows up
The day I'll see agood game out of Kickstarter without so much drama I'll be a backer, this plateform is broken as hell.
Game was fun, the mini games were all terrible. Army battles felt more like long boring cutscenes
@@CulganValya -----SPOILER----- The biggest issue is that Dux Aldric is a poor man manager who cant lead with either charisma or fear. The scale of dissention amongst the enemy ranks trivialised the final 2 wars to the extent you did not need to build the military upgrades to win.
Agree with the War.. It's over the place and it's like you're watching.. but disagree with the minigames, I have fun with it..
kinda unrelated question, but does anyone know if this game has received a patch/fix to improve its performance on the Switch?
It got several performance patches on the Switch. Someone mentioned in one of the other comments that the performance is better than it used to be.
the card game was fire though... i felt like became really way to good at it.
you are the only hero with all the good cards and exclusive ones like the 7 series ofc you would be great at it. I wish there was a way to distribute my extra cards to the other heroes. For some reason though I still dont have 4 of diamonds 1* card which is the one before Giginna despite having multiples of the rarest purchaseable cards which means the RNG is broken
@@RiseAgainst369 i do loose sometimes .. but pro tip do it at the END of the game. you only do it on start to recruit the 2 characters but over all do it at the end of the game.
@@faosparkNeo beaten all the 120 heroes and complete the game already. Still can’t get that common card which stinks. Xee Sheen or whatever her name is does not even require having beaten anyone. Just spam the buy button at Glens shop and she appears after 50 purchases or so in my experience
I loved the card minigame, but it was far too easy. There were no challenging opponents, and the player got access to all the best cards. Even in the S tier you can easily destroy them 20+ to nothing.
@@CulganValya agree its kinda really addicting though . i would say only A and S players kinda provides some difficulty but not that much .. your main saboteur is if you accidently discarded the wrong card or Placed a high card on a 1 crown match .
I like the game but still waiting for the dlc but no update news
@@reginaldeasley Same. I really like the game despite the issues. I wish they'd give us some kind of update.
Yeah my digital artbook is not yet been given 😢
They really need to give the mini digital artbook and soundtrack to people who backed for the artbook and soundtrack as an apology. There is absolutely no reason these things should be taking so long.
imo best game in the last 5 years easy
Agreed. Even though the game has a lot of problems. I had more fun playing it than any other rpg I played in recent years. Eiyuden really scratched that nostalgic itch.
They have been handeling this game awful but still i am just happy i got the game i was promised. If i never get the dlc, my backerrewards or a sequel i am still very thankful for the hundreds of hours of nostalgia that i got.
Agreed. The game was a wonderful nostalgic experience.
Its not even close to suikoden 2 or 5.even to 1 is still far.I dont know the targeta is maybe kids. Its more like playing jrpg like artonelico or atelier series in ps2.If you fans of suikoden and you even came from suikoden 2 or 5 you will know this game pacing is so sht,and the story is also mid,the conflict is also mid,THE WAR BATTLE also sht, character design and japanase VA is great,But we only need like 3-4 hours to the game and boom a castle.Bruh come on,and its not have a thick drama into it.Its just makes for kids, the problem is suikoden is an old games and if this planning of the future suikoden my god.Just keep goin with this series but dnt act like its a successor or future of suikoden series
Isnt DLC about that fox masked women who run away from the final fight ?
Narungarde? I don't think we'll see her again until the sequel.
Also I do not like the idea of walking sharks... really just don't
And that top game was horrible.
The DLC has been stealth-killed. It ain't coming.
🤷♂️ 9.5/10 game… would be very well served with a sequel that builds on the system.
@@nworder4life Seig is better character than Nowa. Seig is pretty much reverse Jowy. Nowa said he admired his father who die fighting bandit and yet the game never show it to you. Samething with Marisa. There is something with her origin or her homeland but the game only hinted that. Compared to sieg who actually have character development. Start working for imperial but then realize imperial cruelty. Start revolting against imperial and join you. Sieg also have scene with his father and even visiting his brother grave before decide to go against his own homeland. Sieg character development is from loyal soldier into soldier that fight for what he believe what right. What Nowa and Marisa development ?
hopefully they make it more friendly for casual players
What do you mean? What parts weren't casual friendly?
@@CulganValya the trophies
If they need more time, they should get it.
I agree, they should take all the time they need for the DLC. But for the Kickstarter rewards? Realistically, how much more time does one need? They've had 4 years already. They need to communicate more.
Blame 505
I'm so done with this scumbag studio and publisher
Calling them scumbagg might be a bit too harsh. I think they just grossly underestimated the amount of work that would be involved in the kickstarter side of things and were unprepared for it.
Maybe they realized the original game should have had decent writing, good character development and all that without the need for DLC, grew to understand that Eiyuden was a poor imitation of Suikoden and intend to make a mass announcement that they’re giving us our 43$ back?
Maybe?
Let’s be honest they are hiding behind the dude dying as long as they can
This game is a compete joke....just like Rabbit & Bear. In addition to the KS rewards & DLC delays....the game is still riddled w/bugs & crashes, text/UI errors & issues, combat balancing problems....the list goes on. Glad I was able to get a refund for this & definitely will not be considering it again anytime soon, if ever.
I hate this game.. so bad. Cannot even compared with Suikoden.
What didn't like about it? I enjoyed the game despite its problems, but I agree it doesn't compare with Suikoden
woke game
Marisa is written a little too strong but other than that it doesnt have enough 'wokeness' to warrant that label. The important generals are often battle hardened males for instance. For every strong female like Electra there is a Wayve, Goldwyn or Melridge.
