If you asked me what a Platnium led Star Fox would have looked like before Zero I would have imagined super flashy, cinematic Arwing sections with occasional on foot sections that play like sped up Bayonetta mixed with Melee Fox. Honestly I still want to see that game.
I think the Starlink game with Star Fox characters in it was really underrated and did capture a lot of what made Star Fox great but with more modern game mechanics. I think if Nintendo did an actual Star Fox game with that team, with Nintendo's own oversight on the project, it could be perfect
I always thought the backstory for Star Fox 64 was fascinating as hell. Tell an origin story, a prequel that tells the origins of how the mad scientist and Ross got exiled to venom, show the original Star Fox team with Pigma, Peppy and James. Show us Pigma’s betrayal, James’s death. A young Fox McCloud meeting Falco and Slippy, reconnecting with Peppy so they can rebuild and start the Star Fox team we know and love and retell the original Star Fox 64 in a fresher newer and innovative way. That’s how you can reboot this franchise.
Make it a faithful sequel to SF64 with branching paths and replayability, no gimmicky controls and screens. Continue the story. SF Assault tried and succeeded to some extent, but it was too short and lacked branching.
Think Returnal on ps5 but make it star fox, fox, falco, peppy, and slippy playable, visiting different planets on their own ships, but also on foot gameplay with each character having a specific moveset, and running into xenomorph-like enemies/bosses.
I never understood the disdain for Star Fox Adventures. It played like Zelda, one of the best franchises ever. Since Zelda went non-linear, why not let Star Fox continue and refine the Adventures formula?
It stemmed from the game being developed by rare as a new IP with humanoid dinos as the main characters. Then near the end of development, Nintendo saying "let's make it a star fox game" and literally having them swap the main characters out for star fox characters. Causing everything to seem very out of place. Aside for the odd switch, the game actually ended up being quite good.
Wrong. The criticism of the last Star Fox games was the open world aspects of it. Star Fox assault had a great intro level then went in to mediocrity. So it needs to go back to Star Fox 64 but with great graphics intensity and multiplayer to at least revive the brand. Star Fox 64 HD remake would be a good start, akin to the resident evil remakes.
Outsource it to a studio like Retro. Nintendo has been losing its touch ever since the golden GameCube era. RPGs especially, I can't trust Nintendo to write a competent story.
Hey all they have to do is make a sequel to Star Fox Zero but with actual good controls and add the story and characters of Star Fox 2 and there you go
Make it like Star Fox Adventures, give an actual world to explore on top of the flying sections. A game in this age that’s that straight forward won’t last tbh.
Naming the game star link vs star fox was a mistake in my opinion that overall hurt sales due to it flying under people's radar that may have loved the franchise.
I think if they made it open world/open zone that would be good as long as they kept a mix of regular star fox gameplay like zero with some star fox assault. Pretty much just have the ability to go to different planets in the story with stuff happening in space and coming to the planet being able to use the land master or just run around and do various things that have purpose besides any mission that would push the story foward. Other take is that i wouldn't mind another star fox adventures game either I really liked that game too tbh.
"Imagine an open world star fox game with some sections of classic, linear levels!" Uh, that's just Star Fox Adventures, guys. In all seriousness, a modern Star Fox Assault-esque title could do pretty good, especially if they nail online coop/pvp. Imagine 4 player campaign coop!
I’ve always thought that Starfox had the potential to be a really great storied adventure game. I would turn Starfox into a saga. Gameplay would vary between deep space exploration, doing missions on planets, and engaging in dogfights in space.
There are a lot of things they could do. The dog fights are already perfected from 64 and Assault (ignoring Zeros controls). 3rd person open world exploration with multiple planets like No Man's Sky. Imagine visiting Sauria again. Then while exploring space you either run into linear on rail sections or encounter enemies or bosses with ALL RANGE MODE dogfight. Cmon Nintendo. Don't keep the arwing grounded
They can’t and won’t. Why would they sink all those resources into a Star Fox title just for it to sell 500k copies? This series is the nichest of the niche.
Easy: it could be a 3rd person metroid prime/ ocarina of time n64 w/ more focused on starship missions and when u play as Fox, you're action rpg style fighting with smash bros moves and clearing puzzles with the blaster. Plus differebt ammunition that stuns/dps/etc like the leviathan axe in GOW. Easy
No more tricky gimmicks like in Star Fox Zero. No more another rehash of Star Fox 64. The new game should be brand new, perhaps a story sequel to Star Fox Assault during the aftermath of the Aparoid War. With the Orbital Gate, the Star Fox Team and the Cornerian Army can explore a new star system and encounter new planets, and of course, a new enemy of the story. Besides playing as Fox only, the Star Fox crew should be all playable, like Falco, Peppy, Kystal and Slippy. They can even bring back Miyu and Fay from Star Fox 2 to join the team. Bill should also tag along to help the team. As for the gameplay, there should be both flight and foot missions again. For the Arwing missions, it should be similar to Ace Combat 7 and Starlink: Battle for Atlas where you can fly your Arwing freely. Because let's be honest, rail ahooters are not popular anymore. Maybe they can keep some rail shooter elements, but for the most part, your ships should be able to fly freely. Now for the foot missions, it can be something like Star Fox Adventures but using variety weapons you can pick up, whether that be blasters, explosives, and melee weapons. Basically... like Ratchet and Clank. Star Fox Assault's foot missions were a bit clunky, though. With that being said... the game should also have online co-op, and a battle royale type multiplayer. Star Fox Assault's multiplayer was fun as heck. So it would be awesome if they bring that back, but now with online.
I do not trust Nintendo’s ability to make new Star Fox games at this point. The last two games they directly made have all been remakes of Star Fox 64. They don’t know how to make an original new game in the series. If you want an example of how to make a modern new Star Fox game, check out the fan-game, Star Fox: Event Horizon, which even brings back the voice actors for some of the characters.
Make an rpg Lylat open world starfox botw totk style. With an epic story with branches and interesting side-quests. It will be an absolute best seller. Also space games are trending.
Here's how you revitalize starfox. Release a new starfox game that isn't terribly designed... It doesn't need some overhaul. It needs a well crafted release. Simple as that.
It's only apparent that they lost their creative streak long ago. Collaborating with 3P like Bamco, Ubisoft and Platinum was something I expected to be their future...but...
Nintendo has been doing this for decades. Most of the Mario spinoffs alone aren't done in-house. You're again just finding reasons to hate Nintendo without doing any sort of research.
@SALTYTOAD00 where's the new Bamco Star Fox? Where's the new Capcom Zelda? Where's the next Omega Force Pikmin or something? What about Arc System Punch Out or Custom Robo? Of course you don't care because you won't play them anyway
They don’t sell very well. For the same reason resident evil changed from a survival horror to an action/survival shooter. It’s because survival horror wasn’t selling as many copies as an action shooter or another genre. If starfox changed to an open world adventure game similar to Zelda with all the same characters we love; they would sell millions of copies. Sometimes change is necessary in order to thrive.
They can acknowledge it exists. Maybe re-release Zero with controls that aren't awful
Star Fox Assault. Third-person shooter, Dogfights, Tanks.
They fundamentally can’t because they’ve forgotten what made it good to begin with and then abandoned it for over a decade
They also can't probably because Star Fox was so inspirationally similar to Star Wars in a way
If you asked me what a Platnium led Star Fox would have looked like before Zero I would have imagined super flashy, cinematic Arwing sections with occasional on foot sections that play like sped up Bayonetta mixed with Melee Fox. Honestly I still want to see that game.
I really enjoyed Star Fox Adventure on GameCube. Please bring Star Fox back before I hit 40 😅
1000%
I'm probably going to play it again soon now you've mentioned it
Finally, I thought I was the only one who liked that game lol
I loved Star Fox Adventures. I remember thinking the fur graphics were insane.
But there was nothing StarFox about it
Me too
I think the Starlink game with Star Fox characters in it was really underrated and did capture a lot of what made Star Fox great but with more modern game mechanics. I think if Nintendo did an actual Star Fox game with that team, with Nintendo's own oversight on the project, it could be perfect

This is needed.
I hope Star Fox gets a new game next console!
Make it a faithful sequel to SF64 with branching paths and replayability, no gimmicky controls and screens. Continue the story. SF Assault tried and succeeded to some extent, but it was too short and lacked branching.
Just make a faithful sequel to 64 without any dumb gimmicks or controls. I would pay more than the standard $60 for that.
Or even copy the formula of Command with standard controls.
I prefer a faithful sequel to Star Fox Assault tbh.
I sure hope so! It’s my favorite Nintendo franchise I have every game even the comics! Stay classy ign!
Give us a new Stafox Adventure/Assault type Game
@@PrimalShadow506 🔥🤌🏾🔥
They could.... do a barrel roll.....
It's so obvious what would revive it... a simple SF 64-like game without any motion control gimmick.
So, repeating an entry = revitalise.
I love Star Fox 64.
StarFox has so much untapped potential. I would love for them to do something with it as long as its good.
Think Returnal on ps5 but make it star fox, fox, falco, peppy, and slippy playable, visiting different planets on their own ships, but also on foot gameplay with each character having a specific moveset, and running into xenomorph-like enemies/bosses.

It was the timing. It was released during a time when people were still into rail shooters.
@@cambrodia3189 Also if you go into Adventures thinking it's plays like Zelda, you're gonna be disappointed.

How many times are they going to remake the first game? It's been 4x already.
We don't need a fourth fucking remake
By, yknow, maybe by just making another one after 8+ years?
@@Kranitoko Just making one for the sake of making one is never a good thing
@DDKoD try telling Nintendo that after their 75th mario game in the last decade.

Yes we do want open world badly

Open world starfox is the answer I would love that very much to come back to this franchise!
Give the IP to the ace combat developers.

I agree!
Honestly the Star Link game is a good template to use for the next Star Fox game.
Maybe just give us a new good game. I've been begging for some starfox and rouge squadron love
StarLink with a combination of on rail zones that could have a leader board
Naming the game star link vs star fox was a mistake in my opinion that overall hurt sales due to it flying under people's radar that may have loved the franchise.
The same question can be applied to Kid lcarus, Wave Race and F-Zero

Starfox frontier is just starfox adventure.
I think problem is on rails doesn’t seem to be popular or work. Do you think something closer to SF Adventures would work to today’s audience?
Give full creative control to @a fox in space
Simple.
By giving us another star fox adventure. Or give us the original Rare IP it was, before they shoehorned the star fox crew into it.
They can’t and won’t. Why would they sink all those resources into a Star Fox title just for it to sell 500k copies? This series is the nichest of the niche.
Open world, open galaxy Star Fox game. They could call it No Man's Fox.
