I’m ok with them remastering any of their great games. It doesn’t hinder my playtime at all. There is always so much to play and when I get the itch to replay something, I’d always love to have a better, more polished, prettier game to revisit.

If they give us a Twilight princess remaster/Port they need to have an option to skip cutscenes cuz man is that intro ridiculous. Surprisingly worse than ocarina of times intro or Majora's mask which I've played through a thousand times.

So does everyone else, but I think Nintendo likes to torture their fans. Sometimes I think they might even hate their fans. If they do remake Twilight Princes, I think it should be optional for Link to be right or left handed.
A RE4-tier remake of OoT is my dream! Aonuma has talked about a game where Shiek is playable way before EoW was a thing. Imagine a remake of OoT with an alternating parallel intertwining story where you play as Link & Zelda as Shiek. That would be so awesome if done well.

For real, t doesn't need to be released on 3 systems in a row when it's already backward compatible from the switch version.
Honestly, I take this as a hint that this is Nintendo prepping hype & marketing for their upcoming live-action movie. Going by this, it's likely to be a loose adaptation of BoTW.
Of course, there's the problem that most existing fans are already tired of this era, playing on the same map with the same mediocre story 3 times in a row.

The stamps were fun collectibles and wolf link trials were like a hard souls boss i did them eventually. The browns and beige were too much for me. But I would rather have a new Switch 2 exclusive Zelda game.
I think it’s far too soon to remaster botw. I believe it would be a dumb move on their part to give BOTW this treatment before WW and TP. Tbh I’m surprised they haven’t already done this.
Since switch 2 is bout ps4 type graphics i really hope somewhere down the line we get a bad ass 3D style zelda game kinda like that one tech demo they showed for gamecube 🙏🏻

I don’t see the issue of porting 2 great remakes that came out on a console most people didn’t own. Plus the selling point is it being on the switch a portable console.

BOTW 4k remake is what is proposed, apparently.
I think that's a really weird take. It's a little too soon. However, BOTW did have some easy to fix issues, especially in comparison to TOTK. TOTK had more issues from a gameplay perspective. BOTW could have been the best in the series if those issues were fixed. It was an ambitious game for the developers but here's my thing: I'd rather have new Zelda's than remakes.
And what I really want to have them do now, is a darker Zelda, with enhanced-ish Twilight Princess-esque graphics. Put that on the Switch 2 and watch it sell!
Zelda twilight princess has some insane lore , what I want is a full blown remake same deungeons and stuff , just more depth to the story ,twilight princess has some amazimg fucking structure to build on , a bit of world building and depth to the story would make it amazing , you know like showing how the people of hyrule suffer from twilight , explore zant a bit more , show us an actual war between light and twilight in the end , add character deaths , if ypu wanna make a dark game just go full in and add deaths , and explain the story a bit more ,
I know zelda is usually not meant to be played for the story but for the dungeons and stuff , but cmon tp has so much structure and could hold one of the best stories in gaming
Nah. If they are going to bring back a previous art style, it should be Zelda 1/2 or A Link to the past. Those would look much better more realistic than TP ever did.
I think it'll already play 4k on switch 2 using the original cart. Thousand year door already had 4k mode in the code which leads me to believe switch games will run enhanced on switch 2 in backwards compatability.

People would also go insane for an Ocarina of Time remake! My personal favorite Zelda game is Majora's Mask and I would love a remake of that one!
We do not need a remaster of BOTW or TOTK because they are still pretty recent. And frankly TOTK sucks! BOTW was better but still kind of lacking. If they do make remasters of BOTW and/or TOTK, I will not be buying them! ... Ok I might if it's just a $10 upgrade, but definitely not if it's a whole new $70 game! If they continue to make Zelda games like those two, I don't know if I'll be purchasing them.
My thoughts exactly. TOTK is one of my least fav and BotW will never be better than OoT, MM, WW or TP. It was fun while it lasted but unlike the other games I listed, I won't bother to play hero mode or buy HD version if they did release it. Which I did do for WW and TP and I also played MM 3D and OoT 3D on multiple save files.

I have never played Twilight Princess or Wind Waker and would very much like to see them on Switch or Switch 2, already. If I had to chose, Wind Waker looks more fun.

The way i see it, it won't be just a straightforward 4k remaster, but like a proof of concept tech demo on title everyone is familiar with. Maybe adding a hardware supplemented mechanic, akin to the Wii U gamepad functionality. Which many believe made the Wii U BotW the definitive version.
I also had Botw for Wii U. It was great however sluggish in framerate at times. The Switch version was just a port of the same game with updates.
I would love OOT from the ground up but I'm down for any Zelda game!
If BOTW and TOTK are a recon of the fallen timeline, I'd love to see a remake of OOT retconning the kid and adult link timelines.
You gotta pay attention deeper. There is a reason Nintendo launched the Zelda Lego kit the way they did. It’s a botw style oot remaster. There has got to be the reason they dropped the dual sided Lego kit like that.

The reason is that those are the two most popular depictions of the Deku Tree by far, not to mention in what are likely the two most iconic games in the series. The same logic could apply to the SM64 Lego ? Block set indicating an SM64 remake.

I understand the love for BOTW and rightfully so. Regardless of sharing an almost identical yet expanded map, TOTK will always be the more complete game to me. Just so much more to do. It was the first time I ever had a Zelda game approach the level of expansion of Fallout or Elder Scrolls game. So much to do. The harder difficulty really helps BOTW but I found the difficulty level of TOTK to be more challenging and fun compared to BOTW on normal mode. With the Sky Islands I feel like TOTK would benefit more from the extra power next gen consoles would have. But as others have mentioned, TP would be great also

I played it on Wii U and Switch. I honestly think it was better on Wii U, mostly because of Miiverse.

When you beat BOTW, the world updates, kind of like FF15.
The divine beasts need to stay on the map, I feel like they were essential to the game's atmosphere.

It would be cool if it’s a remaster that combines botw and totk to make one huge Zelda game which is kind of the original plan for botw since totk was going to be DLC before they realized it was too big. It would also give them the chance to tweak the story so botw - Totk feel more connected instead of totk pretty much overwriting botw
If they’re gonna invest in a remaster, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess deserve that treatment far more than BotW. Hell, I’d even prefer a remake of Oot/MM with enhanced visuals/score/dialogue.
I don't think they're going to remaster most GameCube games until they come out with GameCube Nintendo online. There's too much money to be made in subscription services and remastering any of those games would take away from possible value they get from the subscription.

Even using the BOTW engine for a Zelda1 remake would be awesome ^_^ ... at first, way back in time, many of us thought that BOTW was "kind of" a reimagining of the first Zelda.

I think Nintendo knows people really want twilight princess remaster , but because of that they are prolly gonna let that one cook extra slow.
Just so we're clear - It's not like we played BOTW once in 2017 then never touched it again. We replayed BOTW repeatedly. I think I replayed BOTW before TOTK came out, so getting this is a weird push. Please remember, that if you own the game, BOTW's Switch cart will work on the Switch 2 - so I very much doubt this game will come out. I just think Nintendo was using that file to show what is possible on the hardware to devs.
I’d be down for it honestly. Enhance it to 4K 60fps and bundle all the DLC together and I’d have a good time for 2 months all over again. Hell maybe even add more amiibo support for more outfits and weapons, why not?
The only way I see them selling BOTW again is if they combine BOTW and TOTK together. 😅
Breath of the Wild plays perfectly fine already. I would not be thrilled if they did a revision of it before upgrading ocarina of time, majoras mask etc. I think if they did a complete remaster of ocarina that would be a number one best seller

I‘d wish for a „Wild-Era-Merge-Remake“. Merge Age of Calamity (and change it ofc from H&S to RPG), BotW and TotK into one massive experience and even out / fix the issues in gameplay and story. Don‘t ask me how to do it, I just imagine it to be cool 😉
They should remake Zelda 2: The adventures of link in a BOTW open world style. Dungeons, the map, the towns, all that. This is the way, FTW LOL.

It's already possible to play Breath of the Wild in stunning 4k quality through emulation magic. Hence, unless Nintendo significantly improves the textures and plant density, character models, loading distances, LOD quality, improve stability and lock it in at 60fps both on handheld and docked, etc, many players won't have any reason to upgrade right away to Switch 2 and their Breath of the Wild Extra HD 4K Edition.
I think many enthusiasts way overestimate the popularity of emulation among general audiences. Not to discredit the experience of playing a game like BOTW on emulator (it's superior in most ways and it will probably do most if not all the remaster would) but it being an option won't deter most people buying a Switch 2 around launch from purchasing a remaster. The overlap is almost negligible.

BotW is a WiiU game too, so a 4k enhanced OZ (as in Wizard of OZ, not ""Ounce", cos O is after N, Y does come after X, but OY is weird, so Ninty went with OZ) version makes sense, and it'll pack Trials of the Sword plus Champion's Ballad. Since OZ loads so fast, maybe the menus and loading transitions get reworked. Lastly, as Totk was meant to be the 3rd part of the DLC (it's EX-King vs U-King)... maybe the 4k enhancement would be a dual-game cart (Switch already has those, like the FF 1-VII port/remake) so we get 4k BotW+DLC+Totk all in one go?

Make it a $10 optional expansion pack, thats all that's needed. A few tweeks, higher resolution and bwtter shaders/textures are all that is needed. Then have it bundled for switch 2 in an ultimate edition or something.
I don’t know why but Nintendo hate doing the obvious by giving the fans the remakes/ports they want. The next game will 100% be the BOTW 4K version because it’s not what we expected or want.
I want BOTW & TOTK 4k bundle with master mode and a few extra enemies added to depths, maybe 1-2 new sky islands in the desert area. I’d pay $100 for that. Honestly probably more

If it's on the current system, and the next system is backwards compatible, I don't think an upscale remaster is necessary. It's purely a cash grab and nothing else.

They should do a oot and majoras mask reimagining that links together in one game like once you finish oot you go into the lost woods as kid and it leads into being robbed of your ocarina by majora and majoras mask starts.

I want Nintendo to make an ultra light VR headset with the guts on the outside of it. It needs to be as light as a feather, like you're wearing sunglasses. The problem with VR headsets now is that they are heavy, and people can only play with them for a short amount of time before they get exhausted from wearing it. This, in combination with Nintendo making all their own games, I think, will set the VR wars in motion. VR is having problems now because there isn't enough third party support. Sony, Oculus, etc. all the VR headsets out rely entirely on third party support for their games. It's a completely new medium, genre of games. You can't expect everyone to just be on board without seeing any sort of grounded fan base. If Nintendo did it, I think we would have some really cool VR games, not just from Nintendo, but from everyone. Anyways, that's what I want from Nintendo.

It's insane to remaster BOTW and not TOTK, quite honestly. Hopefully both games would see similar upgrades.
However, I don't think this compares much to a remaster in the same way that TPHD and WWHD were. This is likely a very low effort port to newer hardware, just allowing it to run natively and bumping up numbers. It's comparable somewhat to something like DMCV: Special Edition or TLOU 2 Remastered, not TLOU Part 1 or Horizon Remastered. Those are huge technical upgrades that involved creating assets from scratch and/or porting over to a new engine. It would not take the place of a future Zelda re-release in terms of development time, at least I don't think so.
The only possible downside here is that Nintendo considers this the Zelda release of the year, which would likely mean pushing back another potential release. It is probably true that the existence of SSHD, EoW, and TOTK have all contributed to the Wii U remasters taking this long to come over. I think those criticizing this as following in Sony's footsteps with the recent Until Dawn/Horizon remakes should consider that Nintendo likely views this as a small, simple project with minimal resources allocated to it.
Oddly enough...lol...I have played EVERY Zelda game.....except....Breath of the Wild ( I know, I know..lol). So waiting for a 4K remaster is OK 100% for me !!

I’m hoping the actual release will be an ocarina of time remake with an expanded map and dungeons.
Otherwise they should just remake twilight princess with botw assets.
I’m just tired of companies charging money just to unlock the frame rate in next gen lol
