Exactly and completely agree. And that practical application was spelled out quite well within our founding principles, which were directly responsible for us becoming the most powerful nation on the planet while we were still the youngest. We made mistakes, but our founding principles were never one of those mistakes. Our Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence are wrought with individualism. Collectivism is fine, but only to the extent of respecting individual inherent rights.
You illustrated the point exactly. In other words, it's all for "the greater good". Collectivism condones majority rule, pure democracy, regardless of the individual rights of the individuals within the minority. It's based on popular views (majority) of whatever era. Examples of what we mean by infringement on individual rights based on what the majority of the era believes are slavery, the Indian Removal Act, and WW-II Japanese Internment Camps. Intentions are always good.
Um, very well meaning video. Hard work. Unfortunately, either their teacher or themselves are not teaching collectivism. First, the agreements made between the individuals in the script were all products of Individualist agreements, not collectivist. In a collectivist society the characters wouldn't have a choice. It would be mandated by the state. In other words, freedom of choice, even bad choices or non-charitable ones, is not an option. Kind of the opposite of freedom. Just sayin.

And BTW, that thumbs up on your comment? It's from me. Well put. :)
