Great walk-and-talk thru of the FADEC failure, Randy. Taught this stuff for 17 years in the 58D. Wish I had this type of video resource as a training-aid back then. Know what to expect, react appropriately, no drama. Well done!
I really enjoyed this video. Working the fine line between transient over speed and rotor droop during a FADEC failure....too cool ! You've got me hungry for more 407 stuff ! Thanks for producing this.
Cool. Made perfect sense to me. In the S76C++ we have dual FADEC per engine so something needs to go seriously wrong before you'd ever use manual engine control. We can practice it, but I don't think it's ever happened for real. These digital engine controls are very reliable.
Good job Randy. I truly believe more time should be spent on FADEC MANUAL operational training. Too many pilots have heard that it is a difficult EP but I don't think it should be difficult at all.
Looks great, the video is steady, the sound is clear and good tone. I did like the outside the video on the 180 auto videos. A wider angle might work as well, but this is good for the lighting and detail needed for introducing the topic and demonstrating. Keep them coming. Advanced commercial topics on professionalism and ancillary piloting would go a long way for the newer turbine pilot watching too. Lessons learned, communicating while flying, scan in various weather patterns, quirks of the airframe for newer or transitioning pilots from less powerful aircraft.
I heard a 'Four hundred' call out as you got to the end of base leg - does the aircraft do that for you? Blimey it does! Wonderful to be able to keep your eyes out. [R44 driver asking]
I like how he talks his way through everything, very very good CFI!

Great video Randy! Let’s see some more!
Wow! Great video! Thank you sir!

Keep the 407 videos coming! Maybe a brief discussion on the hydraulics and hydraulics failure demonstration.

Very Educational.
Thank you for sharing Sir.
Very nice.... Thank for the info
Nice demonstration Randy.

Thanku sir for information I am become a helicopters pilot
Saludos cordiales I'm technician of the helicopter, I like your video
so awesome. thank you
Your demonstrations are marvellous. There is no throttle on the B505 - so does Bell think a Fadec failure is impossible?
He is the best
Thanks 🙏🚁🚁
As a 407 pilot I’d love to come do some flying with you. I hope to one day be this good!

A good pilot can do that whole maneuver without hearing low rotor horn.
