I did Bell 407 initial and then a number of annual recurrent with the manufacturer. They do not teach landing an auto to a spot but rather about 500ft of runway. Switched to H.I. with Randy and learned how to manage energy in an auto to your spot. Became more comfortable and confident in myself in the event of engine failure and getting safely on the ground. Nice work Randy. First met Randy when he was just starting H.I., classroom was in a conference room at the FBO. We passed each other about 3 times looking for each other. Funny.
Just had the opportunity to train with both Brogan and Randy. Both are excellent instructors and very knowledgeable pilots. Learned so much and gained so much confidence with their instruction. Recommend Helicopter Institute 100% !!! Thanks guys !!!
Ive been a professional RC heli pilot for 15 years.. We do all types of crazy autos. Not very often you see full down stuff in the big birds, but man that first auto gave me chills. SO COOL!!!!
GREAT VIDEO, man how I miss flying Helicopters! I haven't flown in 6 years, since I was medically discharged from the Army. I was flying the OH-58 Kiowas. We where in the field at FT Stewart, GA using NVG's and I flew into so high tension lines and when we hit the grown I compressed my S1 thru L4 with 4 back surgeries. Now I'm taking pain meds so you know how the FAA is with taking meds like that. Hey great video! Thank you Sir!!
Thank you for your dedication in it. My dad sure loves flying and you seem as excited about it even years later. Sounds like quite the joy you had. :) cheers.
I have been flying for 43 years. Best helicopter videos I have ever seen. Great narration and thank god you are filming in 4K cant believe people are still making videos in 1080?? Keep these coming we could watch these all day we love them here at base !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy is highly-skilled, every time perfect landing. I would certainly like to have such an instructor which knows a lot about natural forces that are involved in flying helicopters.
Love the channel! I'm interested in the evolution of flight control systems from the Bell 206 to the Bell 407 aircraft. Under the cowling examination and explanation of hydraulic sources, routing, types of servo actuators, and system redundancy would be greatly appreciated. Coming from the R22 and S300, I'm very interested in how the turbine ships accomplish swashplate manipulation. Thank You.
Awesome video. To get rid of the slight distortion in your audio drop you volume out setting to your headsets and adjust headset volume up if you need. That’s provided you have taken a feed from the plug in
During any of these autorotations, are you trying to compensate for any type of tail rotor blade pitch as well??? Like you're comming straight in from altitutde, after you've already made your nose/tail turns??? At your 3ft-5ft hover one, you already had an advantage with your IGE coushin, correct???
this is video from 2 years ago. This pilot has perfected this by now to the point where he is now landing the helicopter upside down on top of a wind sock pole while ghost riding on one of the skids.
Just to preface this, I'm not a helicopter pilot. Isn't it one of those bad habits to "rest" your hand on the end of the collective? I'm just wondering, I've seen other people do it too. Not trying to criticize just wondering. I love the videos by the way. Some day I do hope to fly helcopters it's been a long time dream of mine.

Not sure I have ever seen a more calm and confident pilot. Total command of the aircraft.
Just about to do my recurrent training. This is awesome refresher!! Amazing skills!

Love to get my Helicopter rating with this guy who knows what he’s doing and I want to know how much the cost of this would be
Hello. Could you show us some manoeuvres/flight in the B429 or it’s predecessor the Bell 222 if you have either? 😊
Man! I want to be a Helicopter Pilot sooooo bad…
