Beauty thing about those older semi rigid Bell models, is they absolutely float with the right amount of collective before touchdown on power off autos. Heck, in a 214 model, you almost have to limit your collective pull near the bottom, or you’re liable to blast back up 50ft, since there’s so much inertia left in those huge blades 😂

Thanks for the nostalgia. I was instructing at HT-8 and the HITU from '91-'93. I still miss it!

That brings back some memories. Earned my wings in HT-8 in 1992. Been flying ever since.

Nice little baby Huey. I've got a few thousand hours in them and they're a workhorse. Started back in 78, and look what they've morphed into in 23 💥 amazing !

Meh? I feel they’ve taken a huge step backwards with the design of the new 505 Jetbox. Don’t get me wrong, the glass panel, cabin space and extra pony’s in the Safran engine is phenomenal, but I’ll still take the older look of the 206 anyday! An American classic!!!

@@crazyralph6386Totally agree. Just me, but the 505 looks 'cheap'. I know it's more powerful and has all the bells and whistles which are definite plusses, but the 'look' and lines of the 206 just scream "Classic". From what I've read and heard the 505 flies excellently. 🙂🚁

We need Helio instructions that were in the military to teach civilians who want to learn more about about what it takes to knowing the Bell 206

Amazing stuff, I wish someone could upload a 4k version of the same exercises as I'd love to be able to see the instruments!

The Navy are helicopter gods. Ignore all of the discussion around the Military these days. There's no denying the ridiculous skill of Military Helo pilots.
