- Quick fix ended up being rebooting the car twice and then ejecting and inserting the Blu-Ray. On the second attempt, the menu sprang to life. This is on a 1.5 week old 2018 Chrysler Pacifica with the most up to date UConnect software.
---
Update: the dealership fixed this behavior by replacing the Video Routing Module, resetting the Uconnect system, and reflashing the powertrain control module (PCM).
#2 Solved my three screens being blank. Thank you so much for posting!
2017 Pacifica Limited
2018 Pacifica Hybrid owner. Same issue. Random features will stop working then a day or so later everything is fine.
My issue is the back screens not coming on do you have any tips
Mine does this all the time. So frustrating with two young kids and the reason we spent more money for this system. I have started and turned off my vehicle 3-4 times on several occasions and it still won’t work.
Heck yeah the power and tuning button worked for me! Weird tho that it just went black...
Worked perfectly/ Thanks!
So what should we do
What I've been doing is calling uConnect at 1-877-855-8400 and opening a case. I then escalate it, respectfully ask for a rental car, then deal with the dealer once uConnect will cover the rental. I'm playing phone tag with them right now for my second dealer visit. In my state, if it has the same problem in 12,000 miles, I can lemon law it, but it shouldn't have to come to that for something that is simply a computer...
My back screens only do not work, will try inputting discs to try to get it to work, but what garbage
I don't know what to do anymore.. 4 visits new issues every time..
mine is black screen is that can be a lemon car?
Lemon laws vary state to state. I recommend you take it to the dealer if under warranty.
was the repair covered under warranty?
It was.
This seems totally random what fixes it when I do these tests
It's just telling the Uconnect computer (the VRM under the seat) to do something different, and it ends up recovering from whatever anomaly it was suffering.
Mine does this same thing....they replaced it.....still does it
They replaced my video routing module under the passenger seat, problem came back the evening I drove home from the dealer.
Did you get a permanent fix?
The dealership replaced the Video Routing Module, reset the Uconnect system, and reflashed the powertrain control module (PCM).
Now years down the road, the Uconnect will reboot itself, but no longer fails to display the menu as this video shows.
