This is one of the most helpful videos. I’ve come across on RUclips. When so many of these helpful videos don’t work out when it comes to cars. This worked exactly as described. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the help.

My 2018 Trailhawk suffers from the same problem but the fuse is not in the main fuse box. Instead of disconnecting the fuse, I installed a remote battery power disconnect. The UConnect systems can be reset with the remote switch easily. The reset does not address the root cause but replacing the Infotainment system would be costly (just the parts are over $2k) and I would likely end up with the same junk that fails after a while. It is terrible that Chrysler (now Stellantis) cannot make their cars with a reliable electrical system.

You’re now my 2017 Pacifica guru, as you seem to have fixes for every problem I encountered on this wonderfully designed piece of mechanical garbage. As a broke Uber driver I live intermittently in this van, the only model I could convert at night into a bedroom, sleeping in a hammock hanging from right side front window to left rear lift-gate hinge. By day nothing shows my secret, but it’s made the car instrumental to my well-being. Thank you for finding solutions for problems that stumped and I was told would cost me thousands to fix. Subscribed out of loyalty, not for the mowers.

There’s a much easier way just hold the power button down for 15 seconds and it will reset the radio
You saved the day! I did the fuse method with no problems and I am back using my back up camera and radio. I could live without radio till he got home but I have neck issues and cannot turn around enough to back up. I am working in different offices the next two days who knows what tight space I will be in. Thank you for this video which saved us money and gave me one less thing to stress about.

Thanks so much! I have been searching FOREVER on how to hard reboot the Uconnect system and nothing worked until this. It took 5 minutes and works like a charm. I just hope I don’t have to keep doing it. There’s something wrong when so many people have the same problem and the dealers have no idea what’s going on. Thanks again!

You saved my ass. I have a loaner 2019 Jeep Cherokee from the dealer that I’ve had for 2 days and know nothing about and at 9:30pm I was about to start a 2 hour trip back home from visiting family at a camp ground and really needed the apple carplay map to help me get out of “the middle of nowhere.” FYI there wasn’t a “Uconnect” fuse but the “radio” fuse F80 did the trick. Thank you!!!!

Hello. I just encountered a blank U-Connect screen and an inoperable climate control module today on my 2013 Chrysler 300. I found your video and tried the fuse method. There is no dedicated fuse for U-Connect on my model so I took out about 4 different fuses that may be related to the U-Connect screen: Radio, Center Stack Power, Camera/Compass, etc. I took them out, examined them, and went a step further by cleaning/scouring them to expose a fresh connection surface on the fuse blades. Put all of them back and SHA-ZAM!!! Everything working again! THANK YOU. Much appreciated.

Thank you so much!! Single mom here. We just got back from a road trip yesterday. It was working just fine and after unloading my neighbor and pulling into my house the screen was blank! I tried to restart it, let it sit overnight, and tried it this morning, but still nothing. Thank you for this tip!!! It's working. This car has been in the shop 10 times in the past 12 months!!! I knew I couldn't afford this fix and of course, it wouldn't be under warranty! I am actually under a litigation contract for Lemon Law! I highly suggest you look into it if you have problems. They know they made mistakes and will pay for them.
Does anyone else have a problem with their door locks?

I have no Uconnect when I turn the car on, no ac, no fans, no heated seats, no rear screen demister, no camera or parking sensors. But also on the dashboard I have my airbag light on, and with the engine turned on I lose my windows and mirrors. In fact the only things working are exterior lights and wipers. Gearbox, brakes, steering and engine are all fine. I replaced the TIPMS ( entire fusebox) had the battery checked, that is fine. So I am totally stumped as to whats going on. Any help greatly appreciated. It's a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit diesel
I have a 2012 300S and the screen went black this morning. HVAC defaulted to full on defrost and no AC. Mine didn't have a UConnect fuse either. Found the trunk fusebox had a fuse for screen (24) and one for HVAC cluster (32) pulled them both for a couple minutes. Put them back and it works perfect!

Great video. Thanks. A big help. I have a Jeep Cherokee 2019 and the fuse was F80 and the fuse was called "MUSIC", not Uconnect. It rebooted my Uconnect and all my previous settings were still there. :) Also, only some vehicles with start/stop have a second battery. Jeep Grand Cherokee has 2nd battery but Jeep Cherokee only has one battery.

@@abinadiflores866 I would try to disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes to reset everything. If you have auto start/stop you’ll have to disconnect both batteries.

If you happen to have a 5th gen ram and you cant find the fuse...its behind the panel inside the truck under the steering wheel. So easier thing to do is just disconnect the negative terminal for a minute or so and then reconnect (its a #10 socket for the nut on the negative terminal). I've had to do this twice in 4 years of owning my '19 Ram fyi.

Easier to just reset radio. Press and hold power on and tuning knobs at same time about 10 to 15 seconds. Resets system and screen comes back to life! Worked on my 23 Ram!
Unfortunately the older units don’t have a power button, I’m glad they added it on the newer units.

Have you ever encountered your u connect screen turning off and back on while driving? I have e an 18 Pacifica and it started turning the screen off and back on every few minutes since yesterday. I had the accessories battery replaced about 2 years ago, hoping it isn't that again. Thanks!
I have not experienced that, but I don’t have the accessory battery.

Yes, sometimes the screen won’t respond to the ignition and stay on, draining the battery.
I have a 13 Chrysler 300c hemi I bought it w the dead screen it was working before tho
I tried cleaning a couple fuses and that made the traction control and ac buttons start working again but no luck with the screen it’s still just dead went to radio place they said I need a new screen for $1100 or $1400 which is stupid I ordered a used one on eBay I really hope it works I’m gonna try to do the fuses once again before any recommendations dude?
Unfortunately these screeens do go out. If the fuse reset hasn’t worked, you likely need new hardware.

Unfortunately it sounds like the camera failed or the input on the screen went bad. I would try replacing the camera first. They are available on Amazon, starting around $75.

The VES / Reverse camera / U connect screen on my 2009 Grand Caravan SXT has gone into a pixilated, washed-out condition 90% of the time.
Occasionally it’s perfect when I start up, then goes bad after a few minutes.
Usually, it’s bad on startup and stays that way, or very occasionally after a while it will turn good for an indeterminate period of time then go bad.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Is just the screen replaceable - If so, will any screen work or does it need to be out of a Satellite Radio enabled unit?
Unfortunately I don’t have any personal experience with screen replacements. Have you checked with an aftermarket stereo shop? I don’t know how many are left but they might be able to help.
So I started having this issue and I haven't seen anything on Google as to what it could be but my 19 v6 300s started having a issue where the sound system would get really distorted voices would sound like they're going through a modifier to be lower and static would be behind it. Shortly after the screen will shut off and reboot or just go into a infinite reboot on and off on and off. Any ideas?
Unfortunately, I have not run into that issue before. I would keep power off it it for awhile and hope a hard reboot could fix it.
2015 Town & Country - just pulled the #30 in our case waited- started car and nothing. We have no sound no screen issue. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately, these units do completely fail occasionally. I would make sure it isn’t something silly like someone turned the screen off. Then I would look for an aftermarket replacement.
I have a 2020 voyager LXi. is there a way to be able to use the app to start or find the car? It doesn't have nav. but has XM radio
Yes it’s UCONNECT access. You can use an app on your phone to control locks and see where your vehicle is. It’s a subscription service you can sign up for on your vehicle’s screen.
I’m having the same problem with my 2021 Dodge Ram 1500. There is no fuse for Uconnect though. Any ideas?
It sounds like Ram 1500s have an inline fuse on the power wire coming from the battery. There is a photo of in on this forum:

Hey, Ted. I have a 2021 Ram as well with the etorque. My uconnect just blanked out as well. I followed the link below but I don't have a fuse in the location shown. Did you happen to find the fuse or figure this out?

The shortcut settings are lost with the reset. You can add back the heated seat shortcut by finding it (apps) and dragging it down to the menu bar on the bottom.
Will this be the same for a 2006 Acura . My screen is blank. I change the whole navigation but is still blank on the navigation.

You can disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes and have the same effect.

i’m assuming your chrysler has the blind spot sensors and parking sensors too, mine went out. can you help with that?
Mine did have those features but I didn’t have a problem with them and I no longer have the vehicle.
I do know family that had the same problem and the sensor itself had to be replaced. I would buy an aftermarket sensor and replace it.
So what vehicle EXCATLY are you working on??? The manual for a 2013 300 doesn't list any uconnect fuses at all, front or rear PDC locations

@@TheLawnEngineer There is a "Radio" and a "Radio Screen" fuses in the rear PDC in the trunk with the battery, I just decided to nuke it from orbit and did a battery disconnect which did fix it's black screen issue. Thanks

I would think the screen would be with the radio/amplifier and dvd module would be connect to the player. If in doubt, pull them both.

Unfortunately, it sounds like your screen is failing. I would investigate a screen replacement. There are aftermarket options that are much more affordable than the factor option. If you are not comfortable doing the replacement on your own, I would look for a car stereo shop in your area.
I have a 2012 dodge grand caravan. I popped the screen off by accident. When I put it back on everything went black. My radio no longer works ect. Any ideas?
You may have a fuse in the power line that blew during the removal/replacement. Try to trace the power and look for fuses, hopefully that is what it is.
If nothing turns up there and you are sure it’s getting power, it may be worth popping the screen off again to make sure non of the pins in the connector bent and it’s fully seated.
I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and I've tried all of the fuses, disconnected both batteries, and did the press and hold volume and tuning knob reset technique. Nothing is working. No bad fuses. This problem occui after the Aux. battery died. Both batteries have been replaced and I'm still having issues. Any thoughts?
Is it just the screen not working? What happened when the six battery died?
Unfortunately things can be shorted out when replacing the batteries; especially with the two battery setup. It’s easy to have a live positive touch to a ground.
@@TheLawnEngineer That's the answer I expected but not what I was hoping for. As mechanically inclined as I believe I am, it is very difficult to not ground a possible in this dual battery situation especially as far recessed as the Aux. is. Thanks for your reply.
@@brianingle7226 I know this late but I had to swap with another 20amp fuse for it to work. I think the original fuse had just a little corrosion or something on it
my boyfriend is having this issue now and unfortunately it didnt fix it!! we checked the fuse and it was blown so we replaced it but it still wont work, his mileage has been blinking as well and occasionally the side buttons on the radio will flash light quickly. his ac and everything works fine, but the usb plugs are the only things that dont work. we also tried using the code reader thing and it said everything was fine. any thoughts? 😭
Unfortunately it sounds like the screen needs to be replaced. I would go to a aftermarket audio shop and see what they say. The dealer will charge you just to look at it, probably can get some guidance from the audio shop for free.

@@TheLawnEngineermany others not just me have had problems with u connect. And trying many of the tips dont work. My carplay wired in has stopped working and note the usb outlet shows zero charging as well. Clueless dealer mechanic was clueless as well. He said there are other modules that need to be checked. I know it will cost me in the hundreds. I replaced usb module, have good data wires, checked fuses, did some sort of reset that caused cameras to stop working and other issues. Others said if u wait a day they will correct. But try selling a vehicle where u tell them carplay won’t work. No bumper to bumper warranty remaining
Brand new Jeep Compass 2022. Screen stopped working. Took it in and dealership said it needed to be updated. Ok, fine even though it's new. 5 days later the screen quit working again. Over the next year my screen would quit working about 50% of the time. I figured when my screen quits working, turn on my window wipers, turn Jeep off, turn Jeep back on and the screen works. Seriously, purely by accident I figured this out. I've been driving for several days without a screen working to figuring out that my wind shield wipers fix it if I turn my car off while they are on. Absolutely crazy. Maybe this might help someone?

Everything should be off. Even with the ignition off, a small amount of power is kept on the radio to retain settings.

I don’t have any experience with Hyundai but I would try the same process. If you can’t find the correct fuse, disconnect the negative battery cable and let it sit for a few minutes.
Same thing with my 14 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited what fuse would it be
There's little storage box with a latch just next to the hood release (like of like a plastic ash tray would look); it pops off its pivot points and behind it is the interior fuse panel.
There should be fuse identification on the inside of the door.
Did you figure this out? I have a 2014 limited grand Cherokee as well. I had backlight problems that would go on and off for varying time periods and now it’s been out for a long time and doesn’t seem to be coming back at all. Would love to find a solution.

It’s worth a try but I haven’t heard of a case similar to yours.
How about a 2012 screen is black when I go in reverse to back up but it beeps and says check your surroundings but can’t see anything

My 2013 Dodge Charger rt road and track pack screen is driving me crazy the touch is working sometimes like I can press one thing works then it opens sometimes else or not responsive at all my screen is not bubbling or separating it just started happening two days ago
That sounds very frustrating. Have you tried to take power off for a few minutes to give it a hard reboot? It sounds like it needs a restart.

I just checked my book. Uconnect nor DCSD (?) telematics is listed. I do have radio/cd listed. I tried that a while ago and it didn't work.
Radio/cd should be a right fuse for you. As a second try, I would disconnect the batter for a few minutes.
These units do occasionally fail, if these resets don't work you might need a new screen assembly.
Tired to fix my Uconnect screen that is just blinking but it didn’t work. Can you share any idea?
If the reset didn’t work, you likely need a screen replacement.
Hi from Italy... unfortunately both methods (unplug main battery AND fuse) did't work for mine. Pacifica 2020 seems something more difficult... any other suggestion?
Sorry to hear that. One thing to consider is a 2020 model will have a secondary battery for the start/stop system and the 12V system will not be without power unless the primary and secondary batteries are disconnected.
If the correct fuse was removed, the battery situation should not matter. However, it is one last thing to try, disconnecting both batteries.
If these things do not work, it is either the connection in the back of the screen or the screen/radio has failed.

@@bruttalinvidiatry swapping with another 20amp fuse instead of just taking it out and putting it back in, the swapping worked for me but just taking it out didn’t,think the original might have had a little corrosion or something on it
I have tried this and other YT remedies with no success. My screen comes on for a couple of minutes then reboots. In between there is a screen saying searching for new software. Then it goes off.
Is there any way I can speak to you on the phone? I don’t trust my local dealer!
Unfortunately, it sounds like you need a new screen. There is likely a hardware problem that is causing the reboot. I would look for an aftermarket replacement.

I would disconnect the battery or pull the fuse for a few minutes. If that doesn’t work, the screen may be dead, that does happen occasionally.
What's the name of the fuse we should pull?? F76? mine looks nothing like that.
The fuses are labeled on the cover of the box or in your manual. Look for something labeled "telematics" , "radio", or "uconnect."
@@TheLawnEngineerOkay thanks. I don't know how much you know but I tried to disconnect the small 2 cables on the small battery pack and I reconnected them. But when I reconnected the cables I saw a spark coming through, and then it stopped so I continued to connect the 2 cables. So I started my Jeep and now my Jeep is malfunctioning with my high beams flashing on and off windshield wipers, battery indicator is on dashboard is displaying all kinds of indicators and can't roll up my windows and it's giving me the message my car is going to shut down. I can't start my car. And it seems like my battery is draining. Any advice? Thank you
I got a 2018 dodge charger my uconnect screen went black I know a lot about electrical car components and I tried the fuse to the radio and the hub module (the brain of the radio). But I did not do what you did with the fuse to the uconnect. I have a 3000 watt amp with 2(15 in. Kicker subwoofers) running I'm my car I installed a line input converter to run my amp on factory radio. Before I installed the amp and subs my radio would be working then all of a sudden it would restart on its own. So when my car needed it oil change I mentioned this problem they checked it out and said that there is nothing wrong with your radio so now it just went black the back up camera comes on and when I start it sometimes it says dodge on the screen when I plug my phone into the USB my phone keeps showing that I just plugged it in when it been plugged in and while I'm driving it tries to reset on it own
I would try disconnecting everything and resetting by pulling the fuses or disconnecting both batteries (assuming you have auto start/stop). If it starts working use it for a bit before connecting your amp. If the problem reoccurs after connecting the amp you know its messing with the display.
@@TheLawnEngineer my boy said its my factory radio module that is going out cause before that happened I couldn't even turn the volume down. But If you got an email or something I can send you a video I'll shoot it to you cause while I'm driving it tries to keep resetting.

My screen isn’t blank but it’s stuck on u-connect. I’ve tried this and holding down the sound and tuner buttons. It hasn’t worked for mine.
It sounds like there is some kind of boot error. Unfortunately, if taking power off didn’t get it to reset there is likely a hardware failure.
Mines out my uconnect connects but no music plays if a phone call comes I can hear like tiny whispers but no radio or anything (2014 Dodge Charger) any solution
More details a guy cleaned my interior n put water/steam where the radio is believe vents and it went out
Unfortunately, it sounds like you need a new unit. I would try a reset but if that doesn’t do anything, I would be looking for a replacement.

Have you tried this procedure? It sounds like it needs a reset.
So just take out fuse for 2 min right

@@herculeskeil3935 unfortunately you have to start taking things apart and checking connections. It may be a loose connection on the back of the unit or something internal. If it’s something internal that would usually require a replacement.
i bought a 2018 jeep GC with a broken screen, i replaced the screen but i only hear the radio and the screen is dark.
Unfortunately, I think you have to configure the new screen with a dealer scan tool.

Unfortunately you have to program the new screen to work with your vehicle. You may be able to do this yourself by going into “dealer” mode, look up videos on that. Most people take it to a dealer and let them configure the new screen.
