Just in case no one has figured it out yet the white and orange wire he is talking about is a can bus + and the white and grey beside it is can bus - they are info wires and voltage fluctuates based on info received or sent
That assy (blue/white) wire is to turn on an amp. When you turn your radio on it powers that blue wire to turn on an amp or power antenna. The yellow is constant power 12volt + The red is a accessory or key on 12volt+. I've seen another post that claims the radio fuse needs to be pulled and the power wires to the battery have to be disconnected for a couple of hours. Then you hook the battery back up and lastly instal the radio fuse and it makes the radio and display work again. Don't know why but someone else tried the trick and it worked for them. I'm about to try it on my landlords 2008 Town and Country because her radio and touchscreen is not working either. Let you know if it works for me.
I'm going through same issues, thunpin auto telling me it's the radio itself need replaced(factory)... it works then stops like it's lot power,etc.. like it don't make any sense. Seems like a glitch
changed out my radio and just found the speakers and power wires. radio plays ok now. dont need anything extra because i didnt buy any adapter cables i just taped off everything and used screw on wire connectors, real cheap.
Open rear hatch, remove 3rd row seats, remove plastic trim below drivers side rear side window, most likely you will find your short in the bundle of wire below your rear hatch actuator which rubs against the wires and begins with shorting out the camera wire which sends the short to the radio first noticeable when going into reverse and camera glitches eventually causing radio to stay off. What you are doing is bypassing the short from camera.
Ours is doing this. Radio works. Kids can watch movie on back screen and use remote to control but it is just all fuzzy on screen. Started just like your wife. I’m not mechanical so I have no idea how to do what your saying and my husband says just buy a new one but sure wish I could fix it and save the moneu
My radio works but I can’t play downloaded music. It flashes from pause to play over and over. That’s the only thing that I want, I don’t want to listen to the radio.
Any keyed on 12v power source can replace the red/white wire the red and white wire if im not mistaken is the "remote" wire for the amp follow it back to the amp and do some testing on it me personally I think the amp is a bigger problem to these radios than the radio itself but I mean I've replaced bunch of radios for sure lol and its typically the radio but I feel like the amp is shorting internally and feed back to the radio
hi, over the course of the day the screen went in and out. finally went black.when i back up the screen stays black but the backup warning still beeps .any ideas?
Your sonars are still working. The radio is fried. Two different systems. Your rear camera is still working, but your radio cannot display it (because it's fried). Your backup sonar sensors are a completely different system
I found another hot wire. The white and red wire should only work when you switch the van on or to accessory mode. Find another wire besides the white and red to connect your radio to. That worked for me and the replacement radio hasn’t given us anymore problems.
nor my radio does work, nor does the whole screen or backup camera work. is it the whole radio unit or something else. I use scanner i got message instrument cluster error but No DTC CODE
Mine stopped coming on before I did this. Test the wire in the harness coming from the ignition. When I bypassed the wire my aftermarket radio works great.
It's a dodge, everything shorts, especially the windows. Anything that moves, like a door hinge...they put wires near. 4 door truck, your wires are just smashed. Easy fix, buy toyota..lol..extend wired and relocate them.

7 minutes of I don’t even know, 7 minutes should have taken 2 minutes

MY CONCLUSION IS THAT THE RADIO OVERHEATS LIKE CRAZY AND GLITCHES
So what was the work around for the wire causing issues? White & red.

Did it work?
@@nicoleg42 He's still out there trying to fix it.
That's NOT a fix. You're addressing the symptom, NOT the problem.

Very interesting stuff!!
Someone will benefit from this vid 👌🏼

I’m pretty certain this is my issue. Do you have more details on wire location?

A bit confused. How do you bypass the red and white? So just exactly what needs to be done, bought, etc to make this work?

tap into your cigarette lighter wire with out cutting the wire

@@guaranteedworstcardetailin6793 how do I do that? I am not used to do these things by my own!
@@guaranteedworstcardetailin6793 how did u bypass the red/white wire?? Did radio worm afterwards??!
I don't get what you mean when you said bypass the wire I don't see it bypassed in the video
It is. I bypassed it at the radio.
How do you bypass the red and white wire in this case? Thanks.
Find another power wire. I used another hot wire at the radio after the harness. The radio is still working great.
You take to long to explain
Can someone help me with my Chrysler town and county radio it skips when my aux is connected
What year?
Those wires are the canbus
OMG way too much small talk get directly to the point of the video

lol
The red and white wire is causing issues on his end anyways
Do you even know what your talking about because I don't.
Nope not at all lol.
@@guaranteedworstcardetailin6793 Fair enough. 👍👍
I'm with you, I just spent 7 minutes watching this and learned exactly nothing.
Why didn't you just video how you bypassed and everything still plugged up the same can you show the work side of this
Do not listen to this guy. Do not do ANYTHING he's recommending.
Lol
Wasted my time here.

Does the black wire to the radio with the yellow connector carry 12V like 30 amps, or just the blue wire to the fuse box?
