CJ for MVP!
he rly is the most valuable player to his team if u think ab it. the difference is noticeable
Looked like a smooth brain last game too soon too soon 😂
MVP and Offense Rookie of the Year Demeco Coach of the Year Will Anderson defense Rookie of the year
*CMC for MVP*
No bullshit CJ has been playing some bigtine football , it's been amazing to watch,!!
That litle hop he takes to reset his feet while under fire to deliver the ball @20:50 is why this guy is so special. He is superbly coached and it shows. He's so calm and collected, it's like he's on autopilot, doesn't show any panic or fear, just slide, step up, set, release.
Nicely put
Was*.. While i'm sure he's getting great coaching now, it goes without saying his development under Ryan Day set up for this early success in his career. I'm not sure how anyone can argue against Day being the best QB coach in College.
Bryce young get an online he will be the same
@@denny6789 yeah I meant he was superbly coached in college. He's just got his fundamentals down soo good.
I've always been wary of Ohio State QBs, historically they've been pretty awful at the NFL level
This dude is the real deal though
@@youngmurk100 Respectfully, disagree. The panthers regret their decision. While Bryce was an amazing college QB, he can't compete with CJ and that's "ok".. Jacksonville and Chicago would both take CJ over Trevor or Fields right now... His FOOTWORK is 10x better, his ball placement is top of the league and he is an ELITE leader. CJ is special, he let's his play do the talking and the numbers speak for themselves.
I'M EXCITED ARE YOU EXCITED BECAUSE I'M EXCITED!!!!
Man I was born in Houston and was an Oilers fan and now a Texans fan....but its been a minute since I've been excited. Feel good to be a Texans fan and I believe we found our guy at QB in CJ and our couch in DeMeco.
Lets Go Texans 🤘
And our OC is doing great!!
All three rockies in their possessions too. Texans Baby! 🤘
Cj stroud threw 586td 6td in rose ball knew he real deal
Bruh…like this tho??? Consider me a fan now
@@ChaseDanielShow No one could have predicted the dude would be on pace for the greatest rookie qb seasons ever.
@20:18 I don't think Tank was pissed because Nico didn't break it.. I think he was pissed at himself for not blocking better and letting the safety tackle Nico. Love to see the unselfishness and the fight to block as a WR.
Love this breakdown. Sometimes I forget how insanely intelligent you have to be to play QB In the NFL. Hearing this breakdown by a 14 year vet is fantastic, the ability to break it down in a way that I can understand is a real skill. Keep up the great work @ChaseDanielShow. Being a Texans fan has been nothing but pain. Finally having good coach and Qb? Not to mention the Offinsive coordinator adjusting to play to CJ's strengths is so refreshing. Lets go H Town!
Appreciate that
Watched it for two years as an Ohio State fan. The dude is ungodly accurate and not just smart and understands the game. He’s quick smart. He got a lot of hate because of a few losses(Oregon, 2x Michigan, Georgia) but if you know football none of those were on him.
I always compare him to Brady, as sacrilegious as that is, because he just does not make big mistakes, is deadly on those mid range, field side, out routes, great decision making, and just an even-keeled leader who understands how to pick apart a defense and take what they’re giving you.
Mad respect for Ryan Day and Corey Dennis on the development of QB’s at tOSU. It’s becoming the academic communities equivalent to Harvard or Yale for WR’s and QB’s. You’re NFL ready when you leave if you do the work. They don’t get the respect they deserve for the QB development and just great offensive philosophy and creativity. At least they’re giving Hartline love now for his WR work.
Great breakdown, Chase. Was a pleasure watching Missouri games while you were there. And that’s like saying it’s a pleasure to watch Iowa games usually. Mizzou isn’t always the most exciting product but you made them fun to watch. I could watch an hour of these breakdowns, just sayin’…
CJ is the QB of Kyle Shanahan’s Dreams.
Breakdown is wayyyy better than the QB schools videos. Thanks for not using so much jargon that most people just dont understand. Great vid!
I appreciate that!
If u don’t know ball you don’t know ball
I personally like the jargon. Teaches me the sport through and through.
Chase Daniel will always be a Saints legend.
Not sure if you're doing this to "audition" for bigger networks in the future, but if so, keep it up. Really good stuff and you would fit in well on a high level show.
I’m on NFL Total Access on Fridays on NFL Network! Tune in!!
I love your commentary and film breakdown of our Texans and CJ!!
Nico has literally almost been nonexistent until CJ Stroud become the QB, now he’s looking for a Pro Bowl
Davis Mills was at Quarterback
Bruh did no one watch film on Stroud????! He literally had ELITE ball placement in college….
We did. We defended him against the haters on some of the TOSU podcasts. Zack Smith and Kris Drew were the worst and Smith was a coach. There were a lot of CJ haters in Columbus because he didn't run like JT Barret😵💫
Blew my mind for the last two years as an tOSU fan. The football illiterate did not understand how good they had it. I couldn’t believe some people were so high on Bryce and shit on CJ. Then again, I watch every Ohio Stare game and sort of know how football works. He’s the prototypical Manning, Brady, etc. Maybe not Anthony Richardson or Josh Allen athletic but dude is an offensive coordinator/coach on the field and sees and understands what the defense will do before they do it. Accurate as shit on mid-range out routes. Doesn’t make mistakes. And quick smart. There’s no wasted thought or motion.
It’s crazy how this is new!!!
I can't be more proud of lil cuz. He got down yesterday in the Mercedes Benz Dome against the Falcons, yo your people here in Atlanta are 💯 % behind you CJ....
If he wins NFL rookie of the year that would make it two years in a row where an OSU player has won rookie of the year.
hope he makes the pro bowl on his rookie season. well deserved
CJ Stroud is the best rookie QB I've ever seen.
Love this kid. Watched him carve up defenses for the Bucks. Just really curious to see how well he plays in the cold on the road. Always came across as a warm weather QB. I hope I'm wrong...and this is coming from a Bears fan😂
He played big ten football…no conference will get you ready to play in the cold in the NFL like the big ten. He struggled playing in the cold his first year as a starter. Heck…he was crying about being cold when Ohio state lost at Michigan for the first time in a decade. He was much better his second year as a starter.
Great job Chase, love your videos man!
Awesome analysis Chase! I've been sharing your CJ vids with everyone I can. As a fan of the Texans since our inaugural season in 2002, it's damn good to feel like anything is possible again. I've had this hot take that CJ reminds me of a perfect mix of Joe Burrow and prime Deshaun Watson. What are your thoughts on that hot take?
Please keep making more CJ vids!!
Love the video. I knew when he was at Ohio State he was special. Glad that more people are noticing
The only thing I don't like about Stroud's game right now is when he tries to throw over coverage. It's understandable because it shows his confidence but it does hurt his efficiency which means something in closer games.
The way he's able to make decisions and read the defenses is elite and if he starts to find his stride on high percentage throws down the stretch he will enter Mahommes territory in 2 years.
I've always seen Stroud as Justin Herbert frame/ Goff accuracy-pocket presence QB
Lol I’m pretty sure tank dell was upset because he didn’t get the block on 20:25
Yea you know they’re reviewing that play with him in film study lol
Tom Brady all over again!
Bro couldn't run at OSU, had to wait till he got that nfl check. CJ $troud's a real one.
CJ's very first play as a freshman, was a 47 yard run for a TD. He could run, but the coaching staff more than likely didn't want him running because he is a pocket passer. He was a surgeon with putting the ball anywhere he wanted to on the field. Yes, there were a couple times in the two losses to Michigan where he should have run when things broke down and he took sacks, but he didn't need to become a runner for success. Besides those two losses are on the defense's backs. They couldn't get off the field on 3rd down to save their lives, and limited the time the offense had the ball.
5:12 damn looks like a TD if Schultz doesn't give up on his block
Great breakdown!
the very first play you talk about .. a linemen got a finger on the ball
At 10:36 I almost feel like he should have gone for the hole shot to the outside guy and actually made a mistake going to the slot partially based on his reaction right after throwing. What do you think there
awesome video
He should’ve went ahead of Bryce Young. I didn’t understand the hype around Young. This dude is legit.
most of it was SEC bias to be honest. Especially in Carolina who had #1 pick. Most arguments for Young weren't even really for him. Instead it was biased arguments against Stroud like "no other Ohio State QBs are good in NFL" or "his WRs made him" (like Bryce didn't have good WRs too) or "Stroud looked good against Georgia but thats one game Bryce did it many times in SEC while Stroud was in Big 10". None of these were honest assessments of the QBs talents or skills compared to each other.
Nice vid chase
Thanks!
Stroudzilla is a beast.
Go CJ 👍👍👍
Stroud has had several dropped tds also plus some called back to bs holding call
My Mizzou boy Chase complementing my new favorite NFL QB CJ Stroud the 2023 OROY and maybe an MVP Candidates
Finally a Ohio State quarterback who can actually play in the NFL. Not counting that one guy who rode the bench until going to LSU and won a national championship.
Some of us were pounding the table for CJ pre draft and glad he’s getting recognition. People have become so obsessed with fun to watch QBs that they forget to look for the basics.
there was alot of bias at play too. Living in Carolina fans here biased towards SEC over Big 10. I thought it was obvious in college that Stroud was the best QB in the draft. Most fans logic about who to pick #1 was "when has an Ohio St QB been good in NFL". Ignoring this is stupid logic. Same thing could have been said about Alabama before Tua, and didn't stop him from becoming a NFL star. Also claimed he was "only good because of his WRs" like Alabama didn't have stacked WR room too.
It looks like the ball gets tipped at the LOS on that first play btw
Hard to tell but would love the wr to come flatter
Wow! Looks like an actually good NFL QB drafted from OHIO STATE! How many QB's have been drafted from that school and ended up total busts? Very impressive! Im happy for Demeco Ryans to land what looks like a franchise QB his first year as a head. Demeco is a great coach and a great guy. Happy for Jimmy Ward too! Looks like Texans will be making the playoffs in less time than anyone expected. Best of luck to them all
I'm kinda of an old man.
I've been watching football for 48 years and I've never seen a rookie as accurate as Stroud.
Hell, a lot of vets aren't as accurate as Stroud.
As a Texans fan I cant believe how lucky we are to get a guy like Stroud after losing Deshaun.
Ball was tipped on the first play, that is why it "Fluttered".
Tank Dell missed the block that stopped Nico. Thats why he was pissed.😂
Did the first pass get tipped?
I always thought he should have gone #1, although he’d probably not be doing as well in Carolina
Chase plz plz plz do Desmond ridder next his qbr was 10.....1 zero
Chase is it painful getting tackled on artifical turf rather than being real grass? They should give you guys real grass
Just playing on it causes a lot of soft tissue injury also
Odell was upset that if he would've gotten a block on the defender nearest him, that would've been a touchdown. Not upset at the receiver.
Did he get him?
The RPO pass which Nico caught ... game vs Jags, Nico dropped it.
2nd coming of Dan Marino?
A lot more mobile than Marino
@@duanecarter7954 Dan Marino 2.0
Yeah but we the Panthers only gave up 11 draft picks to not pick CJ🤦🏻♂️
Wow! SF a few years too early (Lance). And the S2 Cognition test said this dude would be a bum 😮💨 Where is Peter?
How did you have him behind Brice Young if it is your first time watching him?
he wasn't the only "expert" ranking young ahead of stroud
mainstream media brainwashes a lot of people
@@asianangler classic example of bias and "groupthink".
Are you Owen’s brother?
should have been Heisman winner
Maybe all these Buckeye haters will shut up about us not having any great QB’s.
As long as Ryan Day is Ohio State, there will be a steady stream of NFL QB’s coming out of Columbus.
BTW was that mouthy TJ Watt in this game? 😂😂😂😂
I bet you bought into the "Stroud is dumb" narrative that ran rampant right before the draft.
I half don't want to write this. But because it might help improve your videos... Absolutely nothing in this video tells me why there's anything *'special'* in anything Stroud is doing. Is no other QB doing these things? If we show Geno Smith highlights will they look even _slightly_ different?
Without some sort of context this is just footage of a guy doing the job he's paid to do, with a voice-over saying it's more than that. No offense to Mr. Daniels but there isn't much more to this video. There's nothing here telling me why these plays indicate anything special. If I'm looking for analysis that goes beyond what I can see for myself, where _is_ it?
What here makes me (want to) say *_"This_** guy KNOWS* what he's talkin' 'bout?"
Now I'll give a bizarre example. If you rigged a car so an 8-year-old _could_ drive it, this wouldn't magically grant that child the ability to multi-task, watch out for pedestrians while trying to make a turn with their foot over the brake. They could learn the motions, but still would not have the mental capacity to react on time to the unexpected. Biologically, this capacity ain't there yet.
Similarly, at what age do men become able to handle the pressure of NFL linemen coming at them properly? What is meant by 'properly?'
My favorite example is Peyton Manning. While his rookie year stank, about game 10 his stats improve & mostly stay improved even though nothing on the team or field changed. His ability to shunt aside the Fight or Flight instinct long enough to not throw INTs in a panic kicked in & he stopped throwing INTs just because he couldn't stop himself.
He was about 22.7 years old. The earliest age at which *I* am familiar with a QB being able to step up in there & not be overwhelmed is 22.5, Justin Herbert. (Roethlisberger was too, but while he won, his stats are not good. I also didn't see if he played well, panicked or just sucked).
Stroud, Young & AR5 are younger. _That_ is impressive. He shouldn't be able to shunt aside the panic of the moment at all & should act more like Fields, Lawrence & Zach Wilson did in _their_ first seasons. We can't see yet if Young is good in this because Frank effing Reich is repeating the same mistakes he made in Indy, trying to tweak them & making the Panthers suffer for his idiocy, but Stroud & AR5 are _WAY_ beyond where they should be at their present ages. Especially AR5.
Although he's not nearly as advanced as Stroud, he is younger & should not be as good as he is. It's not merely raw talent. He is more settled than he should be.
Not winning a Heisman proves its rigged, that and they don't like giving any rewards to osu players
OF COURSE YOU WAS WRONG JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE ! Smhhhh
