      And makes you appreciate the position and how hard it is to play it. You need to see all this real time with a 250lb backer aiming for your head. Purdy's going to have a fine career. Saying it right now, he's our best QB since Young.

    Shanahan's offense has been in place for years now building upon piece by piece, CMC unlocked the run game, Purdy was the final piece and now the 9ers are laying the foundation to continue this masterpiece for years to come.

    • @tonywilson4713
      @tonywilson4713 11 месяцев назад +4

      Actually if you look at last years stats CMC unlocked the passing game as well. if things go well he's going to end up as one of the greatest trades in sports history (maybe the best) and I include ALL SPORTS in that.
      After one game George Kittle said that CMC was forcing defenses to cover him and that created more 1on1 opportunities downfield.
      If you look at those 3 or 4 games where Jimmy G started and finished with CMC his passing numbers were significantly improved and his passing numbers were better than Purdy's. It was Purdy's scrambling that made the difference there.
      I think Jimmy G was unfairly treated by a section of the media and fan base BUT THE FACT is Purdy just suits the Shanahan system better. I think we have lucked out and got the QB who just works in this Offense. Its quite possible Purdy would be a bust in any other offense or team. Its like a race car where the engine, chassis, suspension, brakes and driver just all work as a combined package.
      Steve Young made this great comment 10 days ago on KNBR about how Purdy is just working out how to make things work. Purdy knows he's not the tallest, fastest or has the biggest arm BUT HE JUST makes it all work anyway. It was really interesting to hear what Steve had to say on that.

    • @dabair87
      @dabair87 11 месяцев назад +5

      @tonywilson4713 but again if the offense is such a great fit and Purdy is nothing but a fit for the system why is he excelling better than Trey or Jimmy at such a young stage? He is better than both of them and will be the starter for a long time to come. He is only 9 games into his career so far and looks like gold.

    • @tonywilson4713
      @tonywilson4713 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@dabair87 Simple - His decision making is consistently better than Jimmy's and a ton better than Trey's.
      I think it goes back to their college careers.
      Purdy played 4 full seasons in a conference where he had to develop because in the Big 12 talent isn't enough. Trey had 1 full season of FCS and bits of another 2. Jimmy played 4 years of FCS. Neither had to play big games week after week.
      Several commentators have said Brock had to learn how to process information and make things better for himself and his team. I agree with those sentiments.
      This is why he plays like he is 10 years older than Trey and looks better than Jimmy. I like Jimmy but when you compare the highlights for this season You can see Jimmy makes 1 or 2 bad decisions each game. Considering what others are doing with 5 or more bad decisions a game 1 or 2 isn't bad but Purdy isn't making any at all.
      On top of that NOTHING seems to phase Purdy.
      Its like all those big games in front of massive crowds being harassed by raging packs of Longhorns, Sooners,.... etc has made his brain resilient to pressure.
      On top of all that he just fits the Shanahan system like it was purpose written for him. Its like we got a veteran QBs brain in a young body and he's ready to go at the next level.
      There were people comparing in comments last week to Brady and how he was also just the right fit at the right time for Belichick. We all sort of agreed that if Brady had been in any other team he'd probably have done all right but nowhere near as good. Right now Purdy is our guy but do you think he'd be doing this well in another team????
      Do you think if we had Justin Fields we'd be this good or if the Da Bears had Purdy they be doing better??
      Remember Cam Newton took over from Brady at the Pats and he sucked in that team and Cam was a gun QB.

    Brocks miss to Aiyuk was because he has great anticipation and timing on plays. Which takes years for most quarterbacks to develop. I played ice hockey growing up and was always taught and yes I know its simple but "Put the pass to where he's going to be not where hes at." Purdy is only going to get better with time but he threw the ball right when Aiyuk hit the 25 yard line before he cut at the 20.

    A big part that any QB plays within the offense is not only getting your WR open through eye/head movement. But also it allows for your receivers space for YAC and so they don’t get blown up making the catch. Any DB or LB follows the QB’s eyes and reacts. Purdy is doing an awesome job at it, something Dak has yet to pick up.

    It was also impressive because Purdy had to succeed in the passing game. McCaffrey had been spectacular in his running this season and the Cowboys actually did a great job in limiting him: Something like 51 yds and 2.7 yds per carry.
    So if SF was to beat DAL, they had to do it in the air. It was impressive watching Purdy work and lead the offense considering he hasn't had a full season of starting under his belt yet. I've been a 49ers fan since the 80s and I haven't seen the players excited about their QB in many years.
    Over the decades I've seen fantastic teams lose their star QB and the offense will still function with the backup, it's not quite the same. Purdy is leading the 49ers offense and can succeed with the pass. In the Shannahan - Lynch era of the 49ers the run has been emphasized so much more because of our QB position. That's not the case since Purdy started. The offense can be run complete with both the run and pass as valid threats. The 49ers haven't had that in many years.

    And to think he's doing all of this not 100% following an elbow surgery this off-season 😊👀

    Those are two different players playing the ILB.
    On the first Kittle TD it was Bell (S)
    On the Deebo catch short of the GL it was Clark (LB) and he played it by taking the deepest defender. LVE is supposed to mark Deebo on that play.

    Can't argue with that or even the critiques.
    Always room to improve and your own film teaches you.
    Shannahan is just warming up, and this team is locked in.
    Feels like 84.
    Get healed up and stay healthy guys.
    One game at a time.
    Go 49ers

    Love your analysis of Brock "the game manager" Purdy. LOL
    I laugh every time I hear someone call him a game manager. I guess they haven't seen your breakdowns

    Chase, have you ever thought about going into coaching bro? ur experience in this game as a QB would give u a huge thumbs up on that offensive side to many teams. i know there are tons of other qbs out there who possibly could break down films like u can as well but i see u have that "IT" factor that would make a good coach. coach payton, leftwich, and kingsbury were also QBs.

    Where are you guys getting this film? Is that the All-22? Referring people to this that have it in their head that Purdy is a dink and dunk QB. I'm not even smart and knew that take makes no sense. Thanks for the breakdown and content man!

    I think I could get a similar stats line to Purdy with this team. He made 2 out of 3 throws with a CB within 2 yards of the WR. It's easy to look great when you throw less than 20 times to wide open recievers. He's running the offense well, he's not doing anything special as far as big time throws.

    Please breakdown Dak’s play. Every time he throws the ball it’s into coverage and I want to know if truly no one is open or if he keeps making bad reads

    Purdy a very smart qb, even with Kyle plays he knows how to execute those plays, he practices against pass rushes from his own defense which is top 3 in the league so pass rushes don't rattle him I love him for that

    Purdy has had a ridiculously inadequate number of practice snaps with the starting lineup. QB 3s just don’t get many reps and seldom with the 1s. He gets injured and loses all the off-season and a hunk of the preseason. This is a layered offense relying heavily on timing and choice routes. His reps with individual receivers and their nuances is going to enhance the performance of both sides of the equation. We haven’t seen the ceiling yet

    The fact that Purdy can read the Defense is the BIG difference. He is doing his homework big time. Trey lance just couldnt read defense or didnt throw it in time, Garapolo could but a lot of missed/overthrown passes but did good. Purdy is doing great, looks calm and poised even with a few misses. Great footwork, arm locked and loaded. If the niners can stay healthy they will go far

    Please do a video that shows how Kyle almost gets CMC killed by sending him on pass routes over the middle. CMC was concussed about 2-3 time in the Cowboy game, and no one was looking out for his well-being. No way that Kyle doesn't get CMC injured, if he continues to overuse him and to send him in to headhunter land with pass routes over the middle. It's really hard to watch.

      JT O’Sullivan pointed out on one play that the play design put CMC in harm’s way. CMC started his route over the middle from much too deep in the backfield, and it gave the secondary too much time to close on him. The result was a big and dangerous collision. Hopefully the Niners clean that up.

    According to Shanahan, on the first kittle TD, Kittle was the 1 read. He said on all four touchdowns he hit his 1 read. Edit: not trying to be a troll or anything I just know from watching the post game interview. Big niners fan so I watch them all lol.
