Pride is the deadliest sin. Nothing is more of a pride than thinking you can know everything from an ancient book written by people who are not divine. Yahweh is a pagan god. Genesis is typical paganism.
Doug, I think you're a little hard on Joe. It seems he had just taken one of his children to a program for his Christian school and it appears that they may well teach Christian mythology and eschew reason when it comes to their faith. Maybe if someone could engage Mr. Rogan with facts rather than fideism, a la Immanuel Kant (read: the Dutch Neo-Calvinists), not only would he not mock, he would have nothing to say, since the arguments are analytical in nature and therefore irrefutable.
The ignorance in his rant is embarrassing. He doesn't know the first thing about Christianity. It's like everything he knows about it came from lame Internet atheist critiques. It's as if he thinks that nothing that is not self-evidently true to him already can exist. If he was around in the 1800's he'd be arguing against germ theory. "Where are the germs? I can't see 'em."
@@multiverse1544 To anyone who knows anything about the Christian religion, it's history or its scriptures, Rogan's rant was so profoundly ignorant and misguided that it really doesn't bear refutation. As the saying goes, "It's not even wrong." He'd have to make much better arguments to even rise the level of just being wrong. It would take literally hours to respond to and make sense of all the misinformation and ignorance expressed by Rogan in that presentation. It is possible for a person to be so misinformed in their argument that responding to them is a waste of time. If Rogan were to get Doug or literally any Christian on his show to discuss the issues respectfully and logically, then some progress might be made, but to fisk that massive list of nonsense would be impractical at best.
@@multiverse1544 There's literally mountains of books and hours of debate on these subjects that are readily available to anyone and I am not inclined to fight it out with you in a RUclips comment thread. I was just explaining why Doug probably took the tack that he did. Rogan's was not an informed and well-reasoned critique to say the least.
Joe Rogan sounds exactly like my high school friends and myself as we sat around smoking weed, talking out of our butts, and acting like we had the world figured out. Needless to say, we were idiots.
"He who exalts himself will be humbled...and he who humbles himself will be exalted." Rogan is definitely showing himself to be wrapped up in the former.. His argument is no different from a person who has his same platform and notoriety. It's always shallow. Voddie Baucham has a quote that fits this. "EVERYBODY loves Jesus, until they find out who He really is."
Its basically being dismissive while using shallow arguments to reinforce the perspective of Christianity being bullshit, human nature like it says in the books of the bible is contrary to holy nature, it's basically Yin And Yang. Who loves money? That person hates God, and vice versa, it's really that radical. Jesus basically told everyone you're gonna give up something no matter what path you choose.
When jesus raised lazarus he waited 3 days because jews believed the soul leaves the body after 3 days....so it was a miracle appointed by god to happen in perfect timing, hes amazing we are blind fools

@euthyphro dilemma as hard to believe as two unseeable particles smashed together causing a giant explosion in the middle of absolute nothingness and darkness creating all light and matter in existence. I mean if it was all just darkness and nothing until these two particles ow what have you smashed together in the middle of all nothing and darkness, where'd these two particles happen to come from? There's nothing and all of sudden there's these two particles that just magically appear then smash themselves together to create matter and the universe and light?
I'm so glad that you're responding to Rogan! I can't stand how so many Christians LOVE him given the blasphemous ignorance that comes out of his mouth!
I guess it's because he has those kinds of libertarian leanings which, whilst generally unchristian, don't fit into the usual "free stuff for everybody" nonsense we usually hear from the left, so in that sense he can be seen as a breath of fresh air. However, he has about as much insight as Trey Parker and Matt Stone from South Park - correct on a couple issues, but ultimately too much of a "f*** you man" pothead to be much of a great thinker most of the time.
I started watching him because I'm into martial arts and agree with him on most political topics. However, when I started to hear GD this and GD that, I unsubscribed. If you don't believe in God, why take his name in vain constantly? These same people (watching) would never take their mother's name in vain (replace a cuss word with their mom's name), yet God has given us our mother's. I pray that Joe would soften his heart and be open to the gospel. Unfortunately, wealth & success (the self made man), creates an environment where God is not needed. Christians should be careful with this kind of entertainment.
I see both sides of this. I love my Christians and love Jesus, although I don't know in what capacity, but living in the rural south for 2 years now shows me how wrong alot of these people are..they are wonderful people but they have an extemely limiting worldview.
A lot of people are not connected to their spiritual side. If you actually become a born again Christian, Jesus gives up the gift of the Holy Spirit. The Holy spirit is everything and if you don't fellowship with the spirit or understand the spirit your believe system is flawed or very limited.
I think a better point to stress is that Christians don’t believe that Jesus rose from the dead naturally. Yep, that never happens. What Christians believe is that God raised Jesus from the dead supernaturally. That’s what makes it, you know, a miracle
Sinners always try desperately to disprove God because if they don't and they accept that he is in fact real, they have a lot of explaining to do and as we all know, you can't explain your way into salvation. If Rogan did anything, it's prove the scripture and strengthen the Christians who understand the scripture.
What's funny is that deep down you can tell he still doesn't know what to believe. He rants about how stupid it all is, but then still says " I'm not saying Heaven isn't real." So which is it Joe?
Although I totally disagree everything Rogan stated in his rant, it does appear that this particular video was from sometime ago in the past. If you look at his appearance now, it’s markedly older (in a little heavier) than this one. I wonder when this video was actually shot?

This reminds me of that video when Bill Nye goes to the museum designed after Noah’s ark. A little girl asked the owner a question i forget what specifically and he just asks her “well how did Jesus raise Lazarus.. etc” same thing you said and so on. No straight forward answer is ever given when asking to prove certain things from the Bible. I believe in God, but I can also understand that a lot of you in these comments are literally bias when it comes to the religion.
On a closing note... If you would have told me I'd say some of the things about the Pope that I have recently when I was a younger man, I'd have called you a liar 🤣
If enough people watch, like, comment, and share these than they will inevitably get on Joe’s radar. We can make the Joe / Doug podcast happen…Lord willing.

So I can only conclude that he, and apparently you, are completely clueless as to what the various evidences for God are. Here is a short list, by no means exhaustive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Existence_of_God#Arguments_for_its/their_existence
Jesus is so well attested to in ancient sources that almost no NT scholars or 1stCentury historians seriously question his existence. Jesus's teachings themselves were so against the current thinking of the time that they seem unlikely to have been made up. He taught loving your enemies during a time when showing kindness & mercy was seen as a sign of weakness. He taught only one God and only one way to God in a time when most people believed in tons of gods (people of the time probably saw Christians almost like atheists since they didn't believe in the gods and only followed one "man"). Jesus was also true and honest, and had no fear to call out the religious Jewish authorities at the time for their hypocrisy and failures. He also didn't orchestrate rebellion against Rome (which many Jews wanted). Jesus also did and said many things that only someone who is God would say & do. Jesus was also perfectly moral as a true king should be and as such could stand as an model for others... but at the same time did not make himself inaccessible to those around him.
When you're talking about God, you are talking about base reality. Base reality can only ever be taken on faith. You cannot conclusively prove the past is real, other minds exist, that we live in an actual physical world, and you can't prove God exists. Base reality can only ever be taken on faith, because it's what existence itself is built on.
The gospel is "stupid"...but that's kinda the point...its sooo "stupid" you know no human would make it up. 1 Corinthians 1:22-24 King James Version 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
I’d like to ask Rogan, if God doesn’t exist, why do so many people pretend that they are Him or at least have a God-complex just like a lot of our politicians, especially Democrats. It was just as Daniel predicted: one part of the empire was weak and fell rapidly, even got reconquered by the other part for a time (Western Rome) and one part was strong and lasted over 1000 years (Eastern Rome, or as the entire world called it: Rome). But even with that caveat, spot on for how dumb this Rogan rant was.
@@gabrielcarrilho7662 I’m sure Rogan didn’t know what he was talking about. But if one responds in a correction video response, one should be historically accurate. The Romans in the East were ruled by Caesars all the way to the end. And even after them several tried to claim the title for themselves. The Russians did off the basis that the Eastern Orthodox Church’s bastion now had moved to Kiev (czar) The Germans did on the account that Charlemagne had been so-called after Empress Irene took the throne (kaiser) And the Ottoman Sultans did after they actually conquered Rome (Caesar of Rome) Fact is, Rome lasted a very, very long time. "Anyone who is able to tell you what happens after you die is either a liar or a fool." Funny how if he doesn't believe in Christianity he is an "idiot" according to this comment section. Odds are if you were born in a different country you would most likely be a part of the dominant religion there. Just because it is written in a book 2000 years ago doesn't make it true. Also, you pick and choose what parts of the bible you want to believe in and ignore the bad parts. How many religions have come and gone? You talk about arrogance but out of the thousands of religions that have ever existed you think yours is right. You think your people are the chosen ones and according to your same book, any who doesn't believe will be condemned to eternal damnation. This video contained no counter to the arguement that god doesn't exist. The burden of proof is on you to show he exists. Until then, yes, we are bags of meat with an expiration date. Go on his podcast.
While Rogan’s argument is poor and not well stated, he is correct. There is no proof of Jesus BUT the Bible. And if your proof of something can only come from one place, one book, you’ve got a problem. As for our purpose here, and how if there is no god or Jesus that we don’t have a purpose? What a stupid statement. We give ourselves purpose. You don’t rely on other people or a book to give us purpose. Be your own person.
Religion breaks at the seams for the simple fact of them being structured on the system of BELIEF and not fact. Couple that with the fact that there have been thousands of religions, with each sect convinced theirs is the right one. Belief in a god(s) is not the problem, the problem is belief in a god(s) under the coat or bracket of a religion. To add some perspective -- there are more planets in the universe than there are grains of sand on Earth. More likely than not, there are other planets that house intellectual beings equal or greater to us. All of which who have their own cultures and ideas of belief. They never heard of Jesus, or any others of ours. They have their own --- and they would be equally as wrong.
Life it did not came from something dead, God made Adam from the dirt and it was a dead body until God Himself blow the breath of life from God's breath to Adam's mouth. Life comes from God. It's as if he thinks that nothing that is not self-evidently true to him already can exist. If he was around in the 1800's he'd be arguing against germ theory. "Where are the germs? I can't see 'em."
Amazing! I lold at that.
He not only knows nothing about Christianity, he is completely ignorant about basic historical facts.
This is why, I don't even argue against people like that. It's fustrating.

So you notice no one ever bags on the Jewish faith and how Christianity came out of the Jewish faith. Key word is faith...
Although I totally disagree everything Rogan stated in his rant, it does appear that this particular video was from sometime ago in the past. If you look at his appearance now, it’s markedly older (in a little heavier) than this one. I wonder when this video was actually shot?

@@stadler72 meant he'll have ppl on who will challenge him
@@sickboy666fu how did that work out?
Nah, I like Joe for the most part. I'm more making fun of the CNN guy than I am Joe. :-)
“I agree, that’s not thinking.”
He’s looking out of his own eyeballs. 😂😂
Joe usually argues very well. But in this argument he sounds like bitter loser after being knocked out in the 1st Round
I just discovered Doug here. LOVE him!! Praise God!
Joe is pretty tough to listen to, I honestly feel sort of embarrassed for him sometimes. He reminds me of a drunken frat boy philosopher. He thinks he sounds all deep and outside the box but he's really just spewing very average ideas that some people agree with so he exalts himself as if he's a philosopher with new ideas or something.
He's a very average pothead mind that feel really good about himself. Really he's worse than that.
Hey Joe, why don't you bring Doug Wilson or James White or Jeff Durbin on your show!!!?????????? You are the one making stuff up!!!!
Also, it is so refreshing having and older, mature Christian man doing a reaction - it's so valuable.
This is why we need logic and rhetoric in school 🤦🏻♀️
Lets go Brandon *clap, clap, clap clap clap*
Be sure to capitalize the Go, that way you can see the abbreviation LGB. ( I haven't figured out the TQ+ yet, but I must give credit to Doug for already explaining the + is for fatties )
Rogan cusses on the extra when talking about Christianity for some odd reason huh?....... smh
Doug, reach out to joe and get on his show.
Actually...yes. The Romans were around 1000 years ago. Eastern Rome was still going in relative strength.
@@gabrielcarrilho7662
I’m sure Rogan didn’t know what he was talking about. But if one responds in a correction video response, one should be historically accurate. The Romans in the East were ruled by Caesars all the way to the end. And even after them several tried to claim the title for themselves.
The Russians did off the basis that the Eastern Orthodox Church’s bastion now had moved to Kiev (czar)
The Germans did on the account that Charlemagne had been so-called after Empress Irene took the throne (kaiser)
And the Ottoman Sultans did after they actually conquered Rome (Caesar of Rome)
Fact is, Rome lasted a very, very long time. Calling it “Byzantine” is more an Enlightenment phase of Westerners trying to say they were the true inheritors of Rome all along about 200 years after Rome had fallen and no one really cared.
This was amusing. Much needed. I do think it would be great to see you and Joe Rogan talk on his podcast. Somebody make it happen!
joe rogan: where's the proof?
pastor doug: you're not talking about objective judges who have no skin in the game. you're talking about sinners who are under condemnation if these things are true.
uhhh, okay... that doesn't answer the question about proof though. also, the keyword he used here is "if", which he wouldn't have to do if he had objective proof.
non-muslim: where's the proof?
muslim: you're not an objective judge of my religion, because if you're wrong then you're condemned.
*"Can you show me some studies?"* That is hilarious!
Joe Rogan mind is darkened in understanding, his own autonomous thinking opposes himself.
Ephesians 4:17-18
2 Timothy 2:24-26
Ahhh the quintessential atheist arguments. No varnish. No fluff. All idiocy.
He's just regurgitating memes hes heard and parroting books he's 'read'
'The Romans were about 1000 years ago, right?' yeah...and the earth was created 100 million or 4.5 billion or 10,000 years ago or something. Right?
one of rogan's problems is that he argues against something he has actually never read.
it is obvious by the errors he keeps making about christian belief.
another is ... he keeps saying "i'm not saying it isn't real" but then argues that it isn't real.
Joe Rogan makes s*** up.
Joe Rogan is one of the best unbiased interviewers alive today but it is mind blowing how oblivious he is about Christianity.
unbias towards anything except God, I like Rogan and he is a smart guy like Sam harris, but cant see anything outside his own simplistic views on God and religion
There's no such thing as unbiased
Hes got blinders covering his eyes, pray for him. He's an intelligent man, that's why God keeps knocking on his door with these interviews. God knows him 🙏🏼
He's not as unbiased as you would think. The time he had Steven Crowder on and Crowder said something bad about weed, Rogan and Jamie both kept going on and on and on without hearing hin out at all. Rogan has some really strong opinions and you can tell that it hurts his feelings when someone disagrees with him he has to go into full defense mode.
This is a very old clip - and Joe Rogan pre Jordan Peterson (2016) walked into the stage.
Seems to me by watching his podcast regularly ever since, he's grown much in his understanding - also of Christianity.
Find more recent clips to respond to like this one - I don't think you will be able to find them.
I do understand a video like this, titled as it is - lead to a huge interest of course, but would be more honest to say upfront, that you found 'an old video' you'd like to rebute. :)
Also would be interesting to see someone like you on his show.
I keep praying for Joe, and hopefully he will find and accept the light.
It's just mockery at this point. Broad-chested, ignorant, mockery. Joe Rogan is spot-on when talking about combat sports, but is pathetically exposing himself as someone who knows absolutely nothing about Christian history. Nothing new.
Sadly Joe, like billions of others, can't see the trees for the forest. I had forgotten why I stopped watching him, thanks for reminding me.
Joe Rogan...you dive in 100% with your "Hot take", leaving no room for error. Then, u show you've done 0 research to reach ur conclusions. Embarrassing bro🤦🏾
It would be great to have Doug Wilson on the Joe Rogan podcast. Let's make it happen.
Won't happen He would put Joe in his place.

This is the Bible verse I thought when I listening to this.
I think it would get huge ratings, for someone to challenge Joe on God
The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.
Psalm 53:1
Also, Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that shall he also reap. For the one who sows to his flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit Will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

It's fun to see Doug Wilson laugh at Rogan's podcast and even agree with him from time to time.
They're both against Catholicism. Just that Doug is reformed, and Joe is uninformed.
@@rockycomet4587 lol amen
For years I’ve called out Joe Rogan as a coward, because he refuses to have an actual Christian theologian on his podcast who will challenge his misrepresentations. It’s cowardly, plain and simple.
They aren’t misrepresentations , your views and faith in make believe are misrepresentations
I honestly used to think exactly like joe🤣😂. Now I see how uneducated I was of the historical facts and philosophical arguments of God.
This is another one of those situations where this quote is perfectly applicable
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt" - Mark Twain
"Anyone who is able to tell you what happens after you die is either a liar or a fool."
Funny how if he doesn't believe in Christianity he is an "idiot" according to this comment section.
Every time I hear him say, "that's so stupid" I hear him say, "I'M so stupid" 😂😂😂
I always get a laugh out of these. Keep 'em coming Doug!
Thanks for doing this Doug. My good friend keeps throwing Joe's arguments at me as some kind of wisdom.
Life it did not came from something dead, God made Adam from the dirt and it was a dead body until God Himself blow the breath of life from God's breath to Adam's mouth. Life comes from God. And Jesus did not arose from the dead from something dead but the Holly Spirit gave back His life to Jesus. Life always comes from God.
Joe needs to be educated! I love how people come up with there own conclusion without ever reading scripture. I dare him to have John MacArthur on his show!
