Mitsubishi’s Easy and Super Select 4WD systems have been around for many years, and with the release of the MQ Triton in 2015, these systems received an upgrade in some areas while retaining some features of the previous models.
One of the main changes from the previous generation of Easy and Super Select 4WD systems used in the ML and MN Triton is the introduction of an electronically shifted transfer case with an identification code of V6M5A. There are two variants, as the Super Select II can lock the centre differential in 4HLC and 4LLC modes, which Easy Selects lacks.
NOTE: The MR Triton, from 2019 to 2023 is an update / facelift of the MQ and the 4WD systems seem to be the same. However, this has not been confirmed. There was a new generation of Triton released in 2023 which this article may not apply.
