- In this video I will show you how to get to New Austin as Arthur. This can be done only during the mission "Angelo Bronte, A Man of Honor" and this glitch works on current patch (1.31) you can't do this glitch with a mission replay.

The fact that there's so many videos of people finding various ways to get into New Austin as Arthur should clue R* in to the fact that people want to be able to explore there as the main character. Keep the Pinkerton patrols, but just turn off the damn sniper, the Pinkertons are a deterrent but you can evade them and fight back if necessary and collect things still, the sniper is the most unnecessary feature that just frustrates people. If we want to explore New Austin as Arthur we should be able to.
I never understood why they did that in all their games. There's always exploration restrictions
@@bodhi6769 from what i know in RDR2, Arthur originally can explore New Austin and Guarma chapter was meant to be bigger but they decided to cut it because they already on deadline when they release the trailer.
All part that was cut for Arthur was still in the game, like journal drawings, dialogue and etc.
I'm guessing the reason they rushed the game because R* wanted to focus more with GTA6, and from the recent rumour if they can't release the trailer at the end of the year they will cut some content from GTA6.
It just seems unnecessary and dumb restricting Arthur to one big section of the map, given that last tier challenges are there. Which makes starting them redundant completely. The only two things I want to do is find those annoying dinosaur bones and Otis Miller's gun.
It’s sad that there’s a decent chunk of cut content for this game. Thankfully to me I don’t consider it large enough to really ruin the game, but there is certainly enough to justify most of it being considered new content in an upgraded next-gen version of the game (if that will ever exist, that is…)

To those of you having trouble alerting the law on the wall, the boundary between inside and outside the cemetery runs through the middle of the top of the wall. When you jump, let go of the left stick and you will stay inside the boundary. Then shoot.

@@almightybillionairez3375 True enough, the point of doing it this way is to try and replicate as far as possible the sequence in the video to get the camp option to appear. Not that I've managed to do it!

2/14/2024: Still works for me on PS5. Must be during original play through and not replaying the mission. I was able to obtain everything in this video.
Also, don’t forget to get the Explosive Slug Pamphlet while there. The video didn’t mention that one.

Tip for those who can't : after shooting run close to the entrance and let the cops chase you while escaping. The bug will not work if you run away before the chase.
which part of it doesn’t work? I’ve been able to get the law alerted when i mount my horse, but in the end the glitch still wont let me place my campsite.
@@altrag3748 if you not run close to the entrance cops will not chase you and bug not work. Even if you make it most of the time game won't let you place campsite

I followed all the steps, and the glitch mostly worked. The only downside was that I couldn’t use the campfire to pass the time, so I was stuck in eternal darkness.

As of March 28, 2023: I am able to get to New Austin without the sniper and the legendary fish, legendary animals, new clothing from general stores, and Otis Miller’s revolver all work. The sad part is the plants that Arthur needs for Herbalist 9 don’t work. Also when John’s horse dies and I reloaded the checkpoint, I’m back at the cemetery in Saint Denis and the sniper is back at New Austin. I reloaded my save before the mission and tried again and it worked. I may not have the Legend of the East outfit for Arthur, but getting everything else out of New Austin feels so good.
Use the covered wagon from Strawberry or baggy from Saint Denis for Herbalist 9. It's no problem.
@@abdulalhazred4333 I have tried that. Whenever I get into New Austin the sniper somehow still finds a way to get me with the Saint Denis buggy. I will keep trying because I want to get the outfit for Arthur without cheats.
The outfit belongs to Arthur. What platform were you on? So you’re telling me you can’t pick plants? Like what if you know exactly where to go?

Fan fact, Blackwater shops were meant to be closed. During 1899 the only thing in Blackwater was the saloon.
Well in 1898 by the time of Red Dead Online all of the shops are there

I just did this twice and I was able to ride around NA and Blkwater with no law or snipers. I could pick up cig cards and catch legendary fish BUT…. there were zero plants to be found (eagle and naked eye), camping was greyed out, and wasn’t able to trigger legendary animals.
I wasn’t able to ditch John at Bronte’s and halfway through our journey, John ditched his horse and rode with me 😂 and I also caught him legit SWIMMING while I was fishing. I clearly fucked up but how entertaining!!
Still the best NA glitch out there! 🌵So this is why I was able to camp because the law saw me twice? Nice!
That's right, I wouldn't find the actual trigger to set up camp if I hadn't seen your videos on it.
@@ArthurMorganGaming I also had some trouble equipping the fishing rod 🎣especially on recent patches. Don't know if you have experienced that issue yourself since you were able to catch the fish but what fixed it for me was going to Armadillo's General Store and opening the catalogue or to the Saloon and ordering a drink since interactions and cutscenes usually reset things.

works perfectly, thanks you a lot! But (in my case) it's only night (timing, weather doesn't change), you won't find any bones or herbs (do the cart glitch for the legendary pelts/herbs as well), but you can finish the fishermans fish quest. You can't buy anything in Blackwater and beforehand: watch/observe/kill/skin everything you find, or you will redo it/ with john.
What's the cart glitch? As I want to get the legendary pelts in New Austin!
That mission is eternal night. So getting animals that spawn during the day is tough
@@silverheadjack You have to steal a covered wagon or cart, reset your camera and be careful so you can never see Arthur or the invisible sniper will kill him, then fight thru the Pinkertons to New Austin and have the I.S, constantly shooting the wagon/cart, pull up next to the item you want, collect it [[still not being able to see Arthur-which seems like a serious Pain]] then return to the North across the river, All without dying. Lot of vids on it but never tried myself-not with my eyesight [[or lack of]].
19/4/23: Glitch works on PC. I cant set the camp but got the glitch working without second police wanted level. Tip: when you cant see your waypoint your glitch is working and travel the whole map freely 😊
lol you on pc just download a not sniper mod and you don’t have to do all this trouble.
I tried this and it worked however, when i got on my horse I didn't get the law on me so i had to run into town and shoot a few people to get the law on me a second time and also I couldn't set up camp to change time. Stores in armadillo and tumbleweed can be used which was really helpful because i needed ammo and food. 10/10 guide
Oh I just noticed John on your minimap, too. WOW! Still though. I went to the horse, not whistle like the vid shows, and there's a bunch of cops around there but they were walking away so I had to get on the horse, grabbed their attention very quickly, lost them again and the set up camp option was not open.
Not patched. Just did it today on ps4 on the last update I think 1.41 with the gold bar glitch, unfortunately made only 9k of 30 bars don't know why, but you can sell them and again again. But it works, for me the gold bar glitch and this glitch work well, no need to have the red border like the video, even with the border you can go to new austin with no problems. Just make sure to run away directly when John speak, you can't have camp to change weather and you can access to stores, I try to sell gold you can.
This glitch worked for me yesterday and the day before (had to put my PS5 in rest mode so I don't lose progress), but two things happened that were my fault:
I wasn't able to set up camp to bring in daylight as the cops started shooting at me when they appeared the second time as I was running on my horse, and my dumbass forgot to discover the Wickiup near Aurora Basin. I didn't think I needed to save on a separate file in case I forgot something, but oh well....guess I'll come back for a third playthrough next time; as long as Rockstar don't make another patch that gets rid of this glitch, though.

I highly doubt it. Rockstar has even stopped making updates for RDO. So much wasted potential imo. So it'd be pointless to patch a 5 year old game. My stand on the whole matter is: Stop dictating how people play.
John is translated to me every time. Just go do it with him. Been doing it for over 3 hours.

The camp thing is really pissing me off... It definitely has something to do with the law which makes the game think you aren't in a mission. It definitely works although not a solid method by any means. I tried both on PS4 and PC and not much luck. I know it's doable since both of us have had success with it but still frustrating. I will get it work though no matter how much tries it may take 😄

As of 8/28/23 this works I Got really lucky I was at the starting cutscene of the mission when I looked up how to get into New Austin early because I found out I couldn’t go as Arthur but the only thing that sucks is I wasn’t able to get rid of the fog I was able to change the time of day but not the weather

Can you PLEASE address the issue with everyone doing all the steps and getting everything in the glitch to work EXCEPT for setting up the camp? Thats one of the biggest qualities of this video and I did everything this said.. I just can't set up my camp anywhere. I alerted the law twice. Stood on the wall, alerted the law the first time, lost them on foot, ran back to my horse, law was randomly alerted again (Technically they saw me after I got on my horse) then I lost them again via horseback, brought John back to Bronte's and left him there.. I literally can't set up my camp anywhere, but I'm still able to roam New Austin freely as Arthur. It would be lovely to be able to change the time of day with this lame ass foggy night crap. Lol.

April 8th, 2023: Thankfully, this glitch still works, at least for PS4. If you get caught by the police more than twice, it doesn't matter. Just make sure you ride away hard THE SECOND John says "Alright, let's get this done." The catch: You can't set up camp and time doesn't pass. Doesn't matter to me since I only want to hunt/fish, though.

Yes, this still works, but you have to get the Wanted first, and then lose the lawmen on FOOT, after losing the Wanted and the Search, you can now call your horse and start riding to New Austin, do not call your horse when you're Wanted or when the law still Searching you, just lose them on foot. You still can go to New Austin, however, the invisible snipers still can kill you if you lose the law with your horse first, so don't lose them on your horse. But you have to bring John to New Austin to do this exploit since you're losing the Wanted and the Search on foot, do not leave him at the mansion, just be careful when you take him with you, but I only got the OM revolver, clothes at Armadillo and Tumbleweed, and some gold ingots from the Ridgewood Farm and the scarecrow hat, so I have something to do with John in the epilogues. I did like 3 tries to find this out. PC May 25th, 2023.

Well great, I've already done this mission. Hopefully there's another mission or trick that can be used. I was mostly after the legendary animals and dinosaur bones but I guess they'll have to wait.
As of on March 26, 2024 the glitch still works after the recent patch, but unfortunatley I think I'm not able to camp to pass the day for it to be daylight, but thank you for the glitch.
I followed your instructions and the glitch worked! The right clue that it worked is when u no longer see the yellow mark of your next objective! But i was not able to campfire so i couldnt pass time or cook food or craft anything. Make sure that u have enough supplies such as horse reviver in case you fell off any cliff you dont lose your horse. As well as the horse tonic for stamina it is a long ride. Even though i didnt exactly do everything i spent about 3 hours and mostly riding the horse and my horse is fast.
Best video on this glitch. Unfortunately, the party poopers patched it and it no longer works on Xbox One. I get on the cemetery wall, make the shot, and all the police disappear… no threat. Return with John and ride away, it kills the mission. I fight off the hunters and escape with Jack, and the sniper gets me. What is Rockstar’s problem with us wanting to do stuff with Arthur!? A sniper is NOT realistic or fair!! Pisses me off!
Happy to tell you it does still work. You have to make sure that John doesn’t finish his sentence and is far enough from the manor that his dot fades and there is no yellow objective.
One of the good reasons doing this is that you can fill up Arthur Morgan's journal with unique things that John Marston is supposed to write down which makes it exclusive unlike John Marston his handwriting looks like little to no effort but it looks a lot better with Arthur Morgan's handwriting this mission is the only way to do it.

Made my first try on this just now. The glitch worked, kinda, was able to leave John behind and go to the blocked part of the map, but no camp option, so no active clock. Will give it a few more shots.
Got same, probably because I did not receive the wanted area when I got up on horse (idk why)

I am, right now, exploring Tumbleweed and taking the infinite gold ingots in Ridgewood Farm with the legendaries Redfin Pickerel and Rock Bass in my satchel... What I believe is that something kind of random has to happen to the camping option to be activated when the law tries to get you the second time... And it has never happened to me 😒

From my experience at that of everyone ive seen in the comments, it looks like either the setting up camp part was patched somehow, or theres some other criteria necessary to set up camp we dont understand at the moment.

Just tried it out last night! Sadly, I was not able to change the night to day, so I couldn't get the plants, legendary fish and animals, and bones. I could do everything else though! As long I got that Otis Miller gun, I didn't care! 😂
I tried many times but couldn't get the camp option, I even tried getting wanted again in St Denis by shooting someone and waiting for the law to chase me, all that happened is John came back from Bronte's and tagged along - doh. (Reset, again) So I went to Van Horn and did the 'Horseman 9' dry dash to Blackwater mission without any agro or npc's getting in the way and then went fishing for the last three legendary's before going back to John :)
Fun fact about Horseman 9. You don't even have to go to the red area to complete it. The tip of the beach in the safe area of West Elizabeth due north of Blackwater counts.
Damn did this mission last night and wanted to do this to get the tiger stripe mustang. Kinda bummed but no biggie I’ll do it on my next play through. The thing that pisses me off is that the game won’t LET you go into NA. I wouldn’t care if I was hunted by bounty hunters the whole time but the invisible sniper just seems like a halfass way to prevent the player from exploring and is kind of immersion breaking for the first time when you’re trying to figure out who the hell shot you
If you don't get the law when you lose them the second time just kill or get your bounty back but you have to be on your horse for it to work

(Did this on August 5th 2023 and still works, couldn't set up camp though) If anyone is struggling to see because of the night and fog just turn up the game's brightness until you can see, you should be able to see alot better

@@diijoncapeluti1659 honestly it's not mandatory to alert the cops twice, you can alert them the one time shooting the air when you climb the pillars in the sementary and ride to the objective until you hear John say "alright let's get this done" near brontes' mansion as soon as you see the subtitles for that ride away from him fast to new austin, it should work the same. Sorry if it's long and hard to understand lol

You can also explore all of the Black Water area in the valentine bank robbery mission when you go to find thomas' down's widow leaving the ranch. Instead of riding to Downes ranch, you can ride to blackwater with no npcs or pinkertons spawning. but no shops are open and no herbs spawn, the sniper is still present and, you also cant fish or camp - so its all rather pointless. i think it has something to do with npcs spawning if you fail the mission and retry a checkpoint. but i been trying to find out diff ways to bug it but havent been successful YET

Can confirm this still works as of 6/18/2023, although I wasn't able to set up a camp. Fortunately I did just about everything except for catch the legendary fishes (since I decided to save that for John to give him some stuff to do in the epilogue)
Btw, the law not spawning afterwards is partially false because they will spawn in huge numbers if you rob either of the two stores in Tumbleweed and don't escape on time. It'll also cause John to teleport right where you are

Welp i was gonna do this with Arthur in the Clint Eastwood no name outfit to do some photo shooting during daytime,but many said you can't camp in New Austin anymore
They fail to follow simple tasks. Its an easy glitch easy method i swear this is the most easiest glitch ive done in years i got the camp i got alot of things other then legendary animals and bones unfortunately i think they were patched well before this vid hence why he never mentioned it

If you get all the legendary fish, does it glitch the mission?
I simply just tossed anthony foreman on the back of my horse after chasing him down for susan and instead of bringing him back to tilly i headed for new austin. Did whatever i wanted until i rode into thieves landing and it seemed to trigger the snipers. This was in the middle of the day too. Just tried it for shits and gigs and it worked. As long as you stay from towns it works fine. This was not a mission replay either. I recommend keeping foreman on the horse. Cheers!

@@Warm_and_loveable I took the strawberry bounty to tall trees but the legendary fish wouldnt spawn nor did the plants so I didnt see the point of going all the way to new austin if I couldn't do what I wanted to do.
Managed to recreate this as of 24/11/23.
You still can:
- Discover wild animals (Albeit not all spawn)
- Draw points of interests
- Fish for legendary fish
- collect unique items (trinkets, hats, masks, gun etc)
- Visit Herbert Moon
- Complete elemental treasure map
You can’t:
- Setup camp
- Collect herbs
- Collect dinosaur bones
- Hunt legendary animals
IMO, not really worth it. Because you are unable to camp, it’s always night and it kills the mood of New Austin.
If someone manages to figure out how to setup camp and restart the day clock, it would probably unlock other stuff + it would play better.
I literally was only watching this to do the dinosaur bones, I guess I can still get Otis’ revolver but damn, thank you for this information

also how do you fish without camp? maybe you can but it didn’t work for me, fishing rod was locked.
@@altrag3748 you don’t need camp to fish, you need to be next to body of water to have the rod available.
For wild animals that only spawn during the day, going out ot map and then going north of New Austin (just not too close to the map edge, as the sniper will get you if you get too close) is a good way to do it. And they won't even run away from you. Even that damn Rio Grande Turkey spawns out of the map which would make Zoologist so much easier. I did it naturally and that turkey took DAYS to find lol.

Is the Glitch permanent or you won't be able to go back there after finishing the Angelo Bronte mission?

if you have reverend swanson on your horse you can get into blackwater but there is still an invisible sniper

This is the best glitch into new Austin that I've seen, but is there a way to hunt the legendary animals as well that are in Blackwater region that are only accessible as John?
The only way to hunt legendary animals is to use the buggy method.

they had one back in the day. You had to do a replay of the angelo bronte mission and you could do everything. Of course they patched it a few months afterwards. bastards lol
26th August 2023 can confirm this still works but i couldn’t set a camp
At the 3th of April 2023 I can confirm that this bug works on version 1.31 however I couldn't change the time of day.
I was able to:
-get all 3 legendary fishes and send them to Gilll after mission
-get unique stripped Mustang
-complete elemental trail treasure hunt
-hunt normal annimals
-buy all outfits from general stores in town of Armadillo and Tumbleweed
-get Otis Miller's unique revolver
-Collect trinkets
I wasn't able to:
-Hunt legendary annimals
-Collect herbs
-Find dinosaur bones
I didn't test if I could get unique hats/masks cause I'm not into this collectibles. It was tested on ps5
Did you do exactly as the video? I'm on PS5 trying to do it right now, restarted a few times, been about 90 minutes so far lol

You just can't go with John so close just ride slowly towards Bronte's mansion and John will ride himself there, then wait for him to go to the gate and when he will say smth like that "Arthur are you coming" just ride to New Austin. That's all. At the beggining I met the same problem but when did what I just wrote it worked. No sniper in New Austin
Alert the law twice and you can change the time of day

April 8, 2023 Five games over the years at 100% and I finally decided to do the Angelo Bronte glitch.
I got the wanted level and got away. Went back to Bronte's place and John got off his horse, walked to the gate and asked "You coming in?" I turned and rode away.
Mission failed: YOU ABANDONED THE MISSION
I tried it three times to see if I did something wrong. The trick was to ride to Bronte's house from the north and keep your distance from John.
Edit: April 16, 2023. I got it to work but without the camping part. I got away from the lawmen once and went back for my horse just like the video said. I was fortunate enough to run into three lawmen again so I made sure they saw me. I got away the second time but didn't trigger the camping glitch.
I have a different experience. On the wall, shot in the air, it’s not consistent that I will get a wanted level. When I got it and got away on foot and went back to my horse, I cant get WANTED a second time. Tried killing folks to get another wanted level but it doesn’t work this way I guess. I cant get rid of the red border. Sighz

@@zyanuro I think the red border around Saint Denis is the trick that keeps the invisible sniper away. You want to keep that.
Tried it tonight got on the wall and alerted the law. As I was running John was behind me the whole time and even though I lost the law John was dragging them with us. I let him kill them and called my horse and never got wanted the second time.
You need you to throw some dynamite at the Saint Denis police station.

is all the progress you do in new austin saved after you replay the mission? like collecting the gold bars catching the fish etc.
Screw going back to the mansion. I had no idea you could do anything there. Basically anything.
Still works 12/12/2023 just can’t change time of day tried everything from renting a room to sleep but it will be night the whole time but you can still get the drawings and treasures and poi’s
I'm glad people are still doing these but I really wish someone would expiriement and find out what criteria has to be met for the Sniper to exist because
The night mission just dosent cut it for the dino bones and plants ruining the ability to get legend of the east as Arthur
Someone needs to find away besides the corrupt save file glitch to get it
Cause I get pretty frustrated everytime I see a new video recommend of how to get into new Austin as Arthur only for it to be Angelo Bronte at night again
I done some looking into what triggers the invisible sniper to disappear during the Bronte mission. It's definitely has to do with something with being wanted during a mission. Having a bounty also might have to do with too, so maybe there might be a possibility somehow to get the invisible sniper to disappear outside a mission like the old Bronte New Austin glitch. I'm willing to do more research onto this so I'm not 100% sure about much of this.

You can get the legends of the east as Arthur and you don't need to do any Herbalist challenges. Finish all the other challenges and end on Gambler 10 while replaying the mission Who is not without sin. When you finish the mission, you'll have the legends of the east outfit. It's worked on every playthrough for me.

@@mrsspiritwolf You have to complete all of the other challenges (other than Herbalist...although I usually complete them up through 8), leaving Gambler 10 unfinished. Then, you go back to complete gambler 10 by replaying Who is Not Without Sin. Make sure to win 3 hands of Poker in a row and then leave the poker table. Then, finish the mission. Assuming all works like is always has for me, after the mission is over, you'll be rewarded the LoE outfit. I've done it 5+ times, so I know it works. Usually when I've finished this, I'll have 88/90 challenges completed, but I'm fairly certain it works even if you don't do any Herbalist challenges.

Everybody "confirming" this works is saying that with the condition they can't make camp. Which means they are using the original new austin bug (for this same mission) that has always been recreatable before this vid was ever made.
My opinion is this exploit is patched in later updates.
can you do the glitch where u save with cheats on top of doing this glitch?

9-24-2023 Tried more than 10 times. Mission stays bugged but cops are always walking away and I have to go to them to get their attention but when I lose them the only thing weird is the mission stays bugged. Giving it 1 more try. I'm so bummed. I'd really just like to go do the ingot glitch and wipe out that one huge camp.
You can also see in the vid that the player is not in front of the cemetery, where the horse waits. He is 1 street north and a little west of the structures on the S/W side of that intersection.
Usually when the map locations don't match up with the audio in the video then something is up.
Also when the on screen text says "After losing the law for a second time..." the player opens the radial menu and the "Set Up Camp" option is unable to be used. Although this spot is north of caliga hall (nowhere near the cemetery nor Bronte's mansion) and you can not set up camp there anyway.
I believe this can be done but I think this vid isn't the best tool showing the steps. The text is probably accurate but this will not work for me.
Does not work for me. Followed steps exactly but it will not let me set up camp and there is no herbs available to pick for Herbalist Challenge 9 🤔
I alert cops before I leave cemetary. Get red ring around Saint Denis like we're supposed to. Alert cops again after escaping buy it wasn't automatic like you did in the video. I had to manually alert the cops by killing people. Then lost em again and dropped John off but still no camp option or herbs to pick wth?
Edit: also people should make a gamesave just before doing this just in case things go awry or they wanna do it again at some point

How do you get that Del Lobo random encounter to spawn and where is it at exactly? I'd like to collect the hats.
Can a save point be made in new Austin or do you need to do all of the stuff in one sitting?
You can't save as you're still in the mission, so you'll have to do everything in one go.
I just did this last night using a mission replay, but fucking John died by rolling down a hill after I had literally discovered the whole map, gotten the TS trinket, drawn like 4 landmarks, gotten my gun, and marked the bone locations. I literally felt sick
You wouldn't be able to keep any of that progress anyway as it was a mission replay. Also, you could have left John outside Bronte's Manor like in the video.
I am starting to wonder why is armadilo a dead town back in the day with Arthur ??

I got misson failed when I tried this glitch so I think it depends on what system you play on as to whether this is still possible or not.

It's Apr 12, 23, I am in new Austin right now on PC. I can't camp and it's perpetual night but I got Otis Millers gun and I'm grinding away on gold ingots.
I did it by jumping the wall, evading the law and then going back to the cemetery entrance to get to my horse, with john. As soon as john speaks at the gate, turn around and haul ass. Should be fine.
I've successfully glitched the mission marker away and the directive given is still "escape the law," but I still can't make a camp.

Would travelling back to the main part of the map and getting a train a long journey reset the weather? It’s the only thing apart from sleeping and fast travelling that changes time and weather, and you can use the post offices, I went back to one while in new Austin to send the last couple legendary fish back
Every time I do it everything works except for the campfire thing. I can't change the time of day when i'm in new austin. what am I doing wrong. I follow this guide step by step and I can never get the campfire.
This is impossible on Xbox Series X in June of 2024 on build 1491.50. The "Wanted" never procs no matter how many times you do this. I've tried 50+ times. You can't even explore New Austin at night with John.
I did everything right and the glitch works but I can’t sleep to change the time nor rent a room at a saloon, is there a way to fix this?
