RDR2 - How to Explore Blackwater as Arthur as Early as Chapter 2

- This is a method I discovered to enter and freely explore Blackwater as Arthur anytime from Ch. 2 onward... no story mission glitches needed! I searched a bunch and haven't seen this posted before, so I'm pretty sure it's a new one. Apologies if someone has posted something similar before and I just didn't see it.
It's a long video, but the main stuff is explained in the first 5 minutes. Basically you just need a fast horse and need to have a lawman follow you from OUTSIDE of Great Plains across the border and into Blackwater. Then you just get all the cops to follow you around town until you lose your wanted level. Once you lose them, and as long as you don't cross the town border at any time, you will be free to explore the town just like any other (with the exception that all the shops are perpetually closed, unfortunately).

I never understood why the gang never sent Sadie to Blackwater to get the loot. She wasn't involved in the robbery so the authorities there don't know her. She could stroll around right under their noses... could have done some Blackwater side missions as Sadie.
Yeah, that's a pretty good point. On that note though, I really hope that they incorporate Sadie in future games somehow. Maybe even give her her own game at some point?

@@georgepaul1613 if she didn't make it back with the money, the gang would have been no worse off than they already were, and with one less mouth to feed. There was no other way they were going to be able to retrieve it. It's either take a chance on Sadie or forget the loot completely. I'd have taken a chance on her.
I wish they let us just explore the whole map as Arthur. :(

They were gonna let you explore new Austin. Arthur has dialogue for when he talks to the sick people in armadillo
Ya I really felt that Arthur should have been able to sneak in at least. No real reason for the Pinkertons to spawn on top of you and know where you are. Then the sniper that auto headshots you if you make it past new Austin. Like really R*? Y’all had to cut 50 hours from the game, but made sure to put that in? Like it’s dumb to restrict map size in a game, but to restrict challenges with the map is trying to govern how people play and is just pathetic for a company like them to do

I think it disables with the Angelo Bronte mission glitch...or this worked in the older versions?
@@paco680 The old Bronte glitch (as i understand it) would allow you to replay the mission while standing in a specific location, then when you came out of the mission, the sniper fire would cease. That's patched, but there is a new variation of it where you essentially just get wanted during the Angelo Bronte mission and then just go to New Austin instead of camp while the mission is still active.
The downside of the new one is that there are a lot of things you can't do while in the mission, you have to do it on your first playthrough of the mission (you can't retain things from replays), and if you die before you end the mission, you lose it all and have to start over.
There are other ways (buggy method, carrying a carcass) that allow you to block the sniper fire, but nothing that can make it stop completely like that old glitch did....yet.

They should release a DLC of the story before the blackwater incident where you have atleast 6 missions leading up to the incident with the gang

@@shermutt With an RDR3 storyline taking place a bit before "The Blackwater Massacre," You'd have to play as one of the people who died during it. (I believe Jenny or Mac) Since the game is called "Red Dead Redemption," There'd have to be a way for one of them to get redemption. Maybe such as saving another one's life or something.

I was actually thinking a cool idea for at least one of the sequels (prequels?) could be you playing as Arthur's father. If you notice in the picture of him at his camp (a mugshot where he is being charged with larceny) he is wearing Arthur's hat.
It just seems to me there has to be an interesting story in there somewhere. Possibly, involving more of a post-civil war era and maybe even set in (or including) a different part of the country.
@@shermutt That's actually perfect! Because Arthur mentions that his father was a horrible man, so it would be a great storyline for his father to get redemption somehow as well. Otherwise I say, stop going for the past and start a story with Sadie. She's complete badass and she'd be perfect for a RDR3 story

I just started playing RDR2 and I don't get how Rockstar gives you the Legendary animal/fish missions early in the game as Arthur, yet you cant even get all of them until late in the game with John. Rockstar Logic...
Yeah, i don't get that either. The one that makes the least sense is how you can't complete all the challenges with Arthur simply because of 4 measly herbs that only grow in New Austin. I mean, fortunately people have found workarounds to be able to do it anyway, but stuff like that just seems like an oversight on their part.

Michael Millican My theory on this is that R* was thinking of The Legend of… titles as being something the player achieves, as a gamer. But then all of us players see them as John and Arthur’s achievements. It would be such a great gesture if R* changed that to match how people actually play the game and how we see (and love (and live)) the characters.
All mission could actually be done by Arthur

@@selinakhoo8206 Yeah they changed quite a bit from the game late in development to rush it(No doubt Take Two had something to do with this) such as the Prologue and Ambarino, and this was one of those changes.
Now that this game has been out for a few years Rockstar should really get rid of the sniper, Everyone has already explored New Austin as John now anyway, Let people have some fun. This is why I miss the old PS1 & 2 days with cheat codes that still let you save the game.

Never understood why they restricted it when they did record many of lines with Arthur during New Austin and Blackwater.
Even Jeremy Gills cutscene is cut, yet there is dialogue with him there.
Deborah scene still exist in final version with Arthur, but for split second on the way out can be seen Johns animation.
Oh interesting, I didn't know those. I'm currently working on figuring out a way to get all the legendary fish in ch 2 and I currently have all the NA dinosaur bones, just haven't collected all the easy ones, yet, haha. I'll have to keep an eye out for the animation change then.
But yeah, I always thought that the idea for restricting it was to save some new content for the epilogue. If they just let you do everything as Arthur, then the epilogue might seem more boring? Idk.
Either way, it gives people like me fun challenges to try to get this stuff anyway, haha.

They figured out at the last moment that Jack wasnt used as much as John in original because you can get 99% of stuffs with John by the end of the game while with jack is 2 outfits (which oddly was done on same way with John in original. He did wear those outfits in screenshots) and last mission.
They did rush this very fast in the last year and left too much stuffs in the game.
Game is undercooked.
But they couldve gave SnyderCut by returning these things back with Chapter 0.
They already did with Scholarship Edition.

Yeah, that's so weird. R* is absolutely insane. I don't understand why they're so obsessed with policing our fun. Other dev teams hear about fun things people do in their games and they patch games to make those fun things easier and more accessible. Not R*. R* hates when people sandbox in their sandbox games. We always find new ways to do the things they try to stop us from doing, but R* just keeps wasting their valuable time and energy to try and make certain we only engage in their own limited idea of entertainment, making SURE we can't make our own fun.

I enjoy making them, but I only want to if I feel like I'm covering original stuff that actually adds to the overall game. Well you get in and can stay there, but as soon as you go outside of the dotted line, all hell breakes loose again.
Yeah, it does. However, i did a lot of messing around with it yesterday and sometimes I was able to lose the cops again even after crossing back out of the line. I also may have discovered an easier way to do the whole thing, but it's inconsistent. I'm going to play around with it more and maybe I'll post up another video if I get it worked out better.

I got lucky on my 5th playthough...came across one of the ladies who's horse had dropped dead asking for a ride to Emerald Ranch, only her horse wasn't dead but just standing there..It was a Missouri Fox Trotter. Never switched saddles so fast in my life lol.
Ooh, nice! I've personally never had that happen myself, but this is also only my 2nd playthrough. Supposedly, if you find that encounter, you can run away and run back and sometimes the horse will respawn alive. I guess you can keep doing that until it works, however I've never tested this myself, so use at your own risk.

I got it through the Arcadia for Amateurs mission. There is literally a SDP MFT he wants to take a photo off, I just skipped the cutscene and ran straight for it, found it and for some reason couldn't mount it so I jumped on it and managed to tame it, unfortunately I hopped off and couldn't get on it again, I had to jump on it from my horse again, go back to the stable, saddle it up and boom it was mine.
I was reading Arthur's journal about his blackwater memories, I really wanna go there as Arthur. Thanks for the tip man💯🔥

I can't wait to try this out--thanks for this! After playing the game several times, I now just live in chapter 2. I keep finding new items and places and interactions, collected some plants and journal entries in Tall Trees and on the outskirts of Blackwater (by having a very fast horse), but hadn't figured out a safe way to walk around inside the town itself. I hope R* let us keep this one--it'd just be fun to wander around Blackwater a bit and look at things as our man Arthur! (Let us have our fun, Rockstar!)

I'm actually doing the same thing currently. I've made it a mission to try to do everything I possibly can do during ch 2. So far I've managed to do darn near everything in New Austin using the buggy/carcass methods (including the Elemental Trail Treasure and catch all the legendary fish...videos coming soon). I'm currently working on trying to get the tiger striped mustang (although apparently I'm not the first to think of that one) and I vow to get the Otis Miller chest looted before leaving the chapter!
Not sure if you know these, but during both the rev Swanson mission and the first Mary Linton mission with Jamie, you can go down and explore Great Plains/Tall Trees freely (minus Blackwater). They are both great for stress free exploration of the area. I've also heard you can do the same thing with the serial killer on your horse, but I haven't tried that myself. Enjoy!
@@shermutt I didn’t know about exploring during Mary Linton and Rev. Swanson missions! I went to Tall Trees with Charles during the final chapter 2 mission, and I like Charles a whole heckuva lot but he pestered Arthur the entire time about getting back on the right route. Can’t go into Blackwater proper on that mission, either.

@@SPQRKlio Well, I've got good news and bad news there. I did finally manage to open the chest and loot it, but for some reason it won't let me loot the gun, only the pictures. It's really frustrating. I'm hoping that after doing a couple of missions it will work, but I have my doubts.
So, either my game is coincidentally glitching out on the one thing I've tried to do more than anything, or they've programmed it so you just can't get the gun that early. If all else fails, I might restart a new game and just try it on that too see.
@@shermutt back when the game launched and the new austin glitch existed you could use it as I had it with Arthur. Did everything you could do back in chapter 4. Only thing was once I finished the Epilogue I didn't have shit left for John to do lol. Also Arthur writes and draws way better than John does. Since all that was in the game, I'm assuming at one point in development it was supposed to be totally open but for some reason they changed it.

Ah, good tip! I didn't know that one, but I recently discovered that you can do the same thing when you rescue Mary Linton's brother, Jamie. He'll hang out with you and smoke cigars every one in a while. It's pretty funny. 🤣

But Swanson is hilarious as he’ll keep making funny noises until he passes out. From then on he’ll be in an eternal sleep until you beat the mission.

Haha, you bet. Yeah, honestly, I think R* may have just given up on patching stuff on here unless it's really OP or cuts into their bottom line. Hopefully this one will stick around for a while because it's fun to play with.
And if you mean the Leopard Appaloosa, yeah idk of a way to get that early. I guess you can get Trelawney's horse in ch 4 if meet the right requirements, but i haven't heard anything about the white and black one. Good looking horse too! Shame.

Great way to explore Blackwater I've found is if in Chapter2 - get the serial killer man called Edmund Lowry, hogtie and put him on your horse - instead of taking him to the sheriff of valentine you can enter Blackwater with no lawmen or Pinkerton's shooting you.
It works 100% as of April 2023.

you know, I have visited West Elizabeth without any cops spawning during the very first Beau Grey mission in chapter 3. when the teen romantic music is in the background. the one in which you have to give his letter to Penelope.
it was nice to reveal the map of the WE region by simply riding on your horse.
but once you get inside New Austin, you are dead. invisible snipers kill you instantly.

The only issue I or should say “we” have from this game is the fact we can’t explore new Austin with Arthur, I mean all these legendary animals in new Austin to get for the trapper can’t be possible because they are in New Austin. They could of at least let us explore as Arthur and made it so that you can explore as long as you don’t get spotted by a lawman then you become wanted for example on the mini map it would show in red a lawman and you just make sure you don’t get spotted by him easy as that so that we may get what we want/need in New Austin as Arthur.
I agree. The invisible sniper feels like kind of week game design in terms of keeping an area off limits. There are still ways to explore down there if you bring something to block the sniper fire (carcass or buggy are the most effective), but they are pretty time consuming.
I think the theory behind restricting NA access in the main story was so that there was additional "new" content saved for the epilogue. Still though, not letting Arthur down there down there doesn't really make sense story-wise.
There’s also a trick to get camp members to ride with you once you’re at Horseshoe Overlook. Prolly still on yt somewhere

Well with the bounty from Strawberry on the back of my horse, i could manage to visit some of the red area near blackwater and some of new austin without triggering the wanted or the bounty hunters spawning

This glitch is awesome! I had no idea about it until I saw it a few days ago and decided to mess with it. Had zero luck, did about 15-20 tries and since one of your tips said you had more success with going out and back in I decided to go for that strategy as the chase was already happening but I still had the cops together, in a tight group, after me so I went out and back in and then stuck to the borders until I reached the pier and somehow lost them and just the guy on the pier spawned but never saw me. So it actually worked. And wierdly, I was going clockwise.
I would say it definitely works and still needs more testing. But to me some things are mandatory for it to happen:
- always have the map set to "Expanded";
- gather as much cops as you can, run throughout town a lot before going north;
- fast horse and have a good distance on them during the chase;
- if it doesn't work during the first few tries I suggest crossing the border to Great Plains and coming back, since that was the only thing that worked for me.
Also, at nighttime Pinkertons started spawning in town which was weird to me so my guess is either the game resets at some point, I got too close to the borders or just the glitch works for a limited time. If you can check the video for me and see if I am doing it right or wrong that would be lovely:

AWESOME!! I just watched your video and you did a great job! Thanks for taking up the torch on this one. It has some real promise, butI just can't get a consistent enough/better method together to make another video about it.
I've messed with it a whole bunch over the years (I play pretty sporadically) and have had success doing it a few different ways. Most recently, I had it work by having the cops in Blackwater kill me, respawning back in Strawberry, then going back dawn with another lawman in tow. When I got back into blackwater, only a very small amount of lawmen spawned and were easy to lose (similar to how they behave after you get the glitch to work) and the town was clear! I thought "wow, this method certainly has potential and would be much easier for other people!" But unfortunately, I couldn't replicate the results. Half the time I would just spawn back at horseshoe overlook, and the times that I did spawn in Strawberry, it just didn't work the same way.
I've also had it work by just charging back through the Pinkertons in Great Plains right after dying in Blackwater and being able to lose them all easily again too. Again though, not consistent enough. I only could get it to work that once.
I think there might be something to the dying then going back method, but I can't figure out exactly what the conditions have to be for it to trigger the right way. Maybe you could play with that and figure something out?
I like the expanded map tip. I never change mine, so that never occurred to me that it could have anything to do with the success. Not many people that have tried my method have reported success, so maybe that's why?

@@shermutt honestly I have no idea why the game sends you back to Strawberry as it happened to me as well but Horseshoe Overlook is something else! lol
I think the whole glitch is about confusing the game after managing to lose the wanted level since it can't spawn the Pinkertons on you because you're still inside the borders but at the same time having the expanded map prevents it from spawning them right next to you (as it usually does since it's the same cop system as the one used in GTA), plus of course the already huge amount of lawmen spawned.
As for the dying and going immediately back to Blackwater maybe it delays the Pinkertons since you have already died once and the game doesn't expect you to cross the river and get to town that fast. That also proves what you say in the video that "you don't really need the Strawberry lawmen chasing you", as long as you can sneak into town unseen, which can be done by going around the Upper Montana River coming from the northeast.
P.S. Btw I was about to give up and the very last try made the difference for me so I am pretty happy to have managed to pull it off! 🙂
Filling all of great plains with insta kill cops and new Austin with an insta kill sniper is probably the worst decision in this otherwise amazing game. All they needed to do was just have you permanently wanted in blackwater and maybe have a few regular police wandering around great plains, new Austin should be completely open to explore once you get through all that. I really don't yet why they did that too, armadillo's saloon owner literally has black hair to signify that hes younger, and the missions where you catch fish with that guy near rio bravo has voicelines for Arthur.

Bro you can get the Red Arabian by going north east of Lake Owanjila and taming it just like the white Arabian.
Yeah, unfortunately they chose not to really open up the town until the epilogue.
And yeah, I know about the red Arabian, but it's stats are not quite as good as the white and black. Same with the warped brindle. I was hoping to get the rose gray Arabian in blackwater, but just like everything else, it doesn't even show up until the epilogue, unfortunately.
I did the same thing as long as you don't go near the money at black water. Which located near the bank and workers camp .a wagon with crates and the chest is below the wagon surface. You can travel anywhere without causing total lockdown and massive police and Pinkerton and snipers presence.
Oh, interesting! I tried to find the "stash" but was never able to. I'll have to play around with that then.
That's awesome shermutt and you're gonna have lots of fun. Even as Arthur morgan you can encounter Famous Brutus Grizzly. But I used him to ambush the bounty hunters whom where chasing me. Plus enjoy Otis miller treasure and others as well. The black flower painting and native American necklace is great add and from RD1 . ENJOY my friend. Happy hunting.
@@michaelmiller9938 oh wait, hold up. You're talking about New Austin stuff. Are you saying that you were able to get into New Austin by doing this, or am I misunderstanding? If so, I've definitely never been able to do that (without using a buggy or carcass over my shoulder to block sniper fire). Any more details you can provide would be great! Thanks.
Shermutt and yes my brother and makes things happen better for Arthur morgan and different dialogues.side quests and bounty hunter .
Shermutt also big game hunting and you can cross the water get so drunk at Mexico border and you end up in Mexico. At the devil's cave you close to wall get so drunk it spawns you out the map and can hunt multiple animal's where snow meets the desert.

Idk why Rockstar won’t let us just go all over the map as Arthur. I finished this game once, and whenever I see the sunrise for the last time, I start the game over. I don’t like playing as John, and I don’t like his story, and I just don’t like John. Thanks for the video.

if you press start for a longer time then you skip the main menu and go straight to the map so you save time
not sure if this works, but when i entered blackwater and used the clear wanted level cheat with a ski mask the lawmen just looked at me but weren't hostile. but i was using cheats so maybe it had to do with something with that
I think you can do it cause bounty hunters won't be allowed into Blackwater because of the lockdown. Once you're inside and not caught by the police, you are fine.

Have you tried getting the pronghorn for the trinket? I’ve tried the buggy way and failed and also tried taking Mark Thompson but eventually dies. Any tips?

I actually snuck in by finding a boat in Lemoyne and just paddling into the dock areas and I got in via the beach and nobody bothered me. You can’t do anything there though.

As of October 28, 2021, this does not work anymore. Lawmen don’t despawn after losing them while staying within the borders of Blackwater. Looks like Rockstar didn’t listen and patched it. :\
Thanks for the info, I'll check it when I get a chance and update the title if need be. Keep in mind though, it's not a very solid method and the attempt in this video went better than average. I'd say I can only get it to work maybe 50% of the time. I'm still not sure exactly what causes it to work or not, but I have a suspicion that it only works if you get close enough to the border (sometimes even if you cross it). In other words, I've found I have the least success when I stay well within the border.
Also, last I tried (maybe 3 months ago), I had more success going counter clockwise instead of clockwise and actually going around that church/graveyard. I would try to gather all the cops in that big area on that north side of town, then just lose them all at once. It's weird, once you turn the corner of that fence around the cemetery, they all start "searching" when they are clearly still within view of you. So, honestly, it's got me a bit stumped.
I've been wanting to get it more perfected and re-release a more reliable method, but I just can't seem to work it out. Feel free to play around with it, and if you figure something out, please let me know. Thanks!
Honestly there should be a free roam mode where you can explore the whole map without wanted levels. Maybe even allow you to use different characters or create your own.

I think Rockstar decided to just nerf this part of the map rather than fix every way of glitching into it. I was able to ride to Blackwater with the serial killer on my horse but none of the Blackwater plants were available. I rode all the way to the New Austin border, then the sniper started shooting at me. Never saw a posse though.

As far as plants go though, prairie poppy is really the only plant you can only get in great plains. You could either use this glitch to get it, or you could just kite the strawberry police in the and pick some while they are searching for you.
Or if you really don't give a crap, and want to do it the fastest way, you can just run in, pick some quickly, and try to run out before getting wrecked by the pinkertons... I think i went with option 3 when I did it, haha.

Do you know how to get free horses from the stable in the beginning of the game or when ever you want ? If not this is how get a wagon gor to stable move half way in shoot you gun to get wanted level and the stable doors will try closeing get off the wagon pick a horse feed it then leave the stable and call the horse and it will come out and you have yourself a horse.
Yeah, I do know about that trick, Actually, I used it to get the Rose Gray Arabian in my first playthrough. I was hoping to use it to get one early in Blackwater, but alas, the stables just don't have them and aren't even open.
That is a solid glitch though. Hopefully they don't patch it.

Saw where you guys had a discussion about RDR3 ideas. I don't think people are ready to let go of Arthur. My idea would be to reveal that his meeting with the time traveler (Sinclair?) was more significant than anyone thought. Arthur (Maybe with the help of Sinclair unlocking the mystery of time travel) can make right everything that went wrong... ("Final Redemption?") save Jenny, Davey, Hosea, Kieran, Lenny and whoever else he wants; He could avoid Tuberculosis, deal with Micah in a more satisfying way, and Marry Sadie. 😎👍
The way RDR2 played out at the end could turn out to be what Arthur saw when using the Strange Carvings Mystery, and that was Francis Sinclair's payment to him for helping him find the carvings? That's what I would want. We all love a happy ending, because we rarely get them in life.

Anyway, thanks for the comment! I do enjoy doing these, but I haven't felt like I've had time lately to devote to putting together some proper videos. I have a bunch of saved footage from things I've discovered (for instance, how to do the elemental trail treasure map in ch 2), but I just can't seem to get around to making them into some decent videos. I have never played to that point. Watching my hero suffer and die miserably over hours or even days of playtime is not my idea of a good gaming experience. I still have the save game from when that doctor told me I've got to die, never played further. I've got another save game and will stay forever in chapter 4, right before those Bronte missions. I really can't stand the obsession with suffer porn people have nowadays.

Not the pinkertons, but the blackwater police, yes. It can be tricky, and the run I did in this video went better than they normally do, but that's the general idea. I've actually had it work before when I crossed the border then went back in, but I'm not sure of there's a limit and how far that is.

I am doing what you recommend and go counter-clockwise but either the red circle remains bigger than it should be or as soon as the wanted level starts fading halfway they see me again while I don't see anyone near me. Either I am not getting all the cops to chase me right or just can't get it to work for me. I am on PS4 so if it's possible for you then it should be possible for me as well! 🤔
I remember a few weeks after the game came out I rode right up against the hill heading into new Austin around ch 3 and made it as Arthur I wish i still had the clip
Can you do an autosave here, without being shot at, once you reload ?
Not 100% sure, but I think no. I feel like I tested that, and the cops were all still there upon reloading the save.
However, you can sleep in the empty tents in the workers camp, so maybe saving from there would be different. Probably not, but worth a shot.

@@shermutt you can also save in new austin because when i went to guarma I kept going into sniper zone in new austin by accident and saved my game and after reaching guarma I loaded the old one and I was in new austin but after you move a few seconds and the sniper will kill you
What happened if we step out of blackwater and come back? Do we have to repeat the whole process?
Yeah, kind of. The lawmen will respawn, but I've been able to make it work again without going all the way back out of Great Plains.
Honestly, I have a feeling that you can do this in the first place without having a lawman follow you from outside Great Plains, but I haven't been able to make it work yet, so idk. I have been able to make it work again that way after getting killed by the Blackwater PD, but never from a completely dry run.
There's something there that hopefully someone smarter than me can work out better, because I still can't completely understand it.

Good question, but no, just Blackwater. As soon as you cross outside of the city limits, you will get targeted by the Pinkertons again. And what's more, if you do that and go back into Blackwater, the lawmen will be back there again too.
If you're looking to be able to freely explore Great Plains/Tall Trees, there are several missions that allow free access to the area. Usually, they are the ones that you have a person on the back of your horse for some reason. The first Rev Swanson mission and the one where you rescue Mary's brother, Jamie, from the Chelonians are a couple that I know work, as well as any bounty mission. Hope that helps!

Good luck with the fish! They definitely aren't easy, but I think the methods I came up with are repeatable with enough patience. I've had a couple people reply that they've been able to do it as well, which really makes me feel good.
As far as the revolver, I had someone get in touch with me recently about a method they used to open the chest and give yourself a bit more time to loot it (which is all you really need). We did some brainstorming and had a few ideas on how to make it consistent, but I haven't had a chance to try it myself yet. I'm still stuck on trying to chase the tiger striped mustang back out of NA and capture it. I honestly must have attempted it close to 100 times now. It's turned out to be quite the test of patience, haha.

I'd love to hear your ideas for the revolver, but I've tried quite a few different things. I've tried destroying the chest, but you can't loot it. I've tried using the companion glitch and bringing a posse of people down there for sniper shields as they are invulnerable, but they wouldn't come in the cave, sadly. I've timed a hundred or so sniper shots and wrote down every time to try to decipher some sort of pattern, but I've really only discovered a very loose one, if any...and that's probably mostly wishful thinking. I've tried drinking till I passed out and rushing there during the warning shots, but you die before you really even get up. I've tried driving vehicles in there and or forcing my horse in, but no luck. I've tried moving the camera to about every angle possible to find cover, but there's almost nowhere that provides it. The only spot I've found is a small corner of rock at the cave opening that is a matter of inches wide. I've actually been able to use that to open the chest (it's REALLY hard and you lose the cover once the chest actually opens), but there isn't enough time to loot anything. Then, unfortunately, if you come back, the chest will still be open, but you can only loot the photos. It seems dying while it's open locks you out of looting the gun. I've tried a buttload of other ridiculous things...but it really is the ONLY thing in NA that I've not managed to accomplish.
The person I talked with came up with a plan of dropping the carcass and then moving the camera while it falls to keep you shielded for a brief moment more while you open it, but once the carcass hits the floor, it doesn't provide shielding anymore. So, essentially, it's just enough to get it open, but not enough to loot it.
Using that strat, my most recent idea is to somehow stack a couple or more carcasses on the left side of the chest and potentially the top one would still provide cover. It would be a pain in the ass to get them there and stacked though. And that's assuming it actually works.
So yeah, that's a small glimpse into the obsession I've had with that damn gun for, well, years now. I go back and play every now and then, but I certainly don't get on as much as I used to. One of these days though...at least that's what I keep telling myself. 😅
It's really cool to see that people are still getting into this stuff and enjoy it too though. I promise I'll let you know if happen to make any new breakthroughs. 😊

I don't think I will be offering anything new here but I heard that if you use the compass menu instead of dead eye it slows time way more so I was thinking either animal carc method using compass or driving up and blocking entrance with appleseed timberwagon and some how getting lucky with the camera and timing or some how a combo of both, when I next get an opportunity Im gonna experiment with some stuff.

For fast horses, I just got the Perfect Horse mod. It gives any horse you ride with maxed speed, acceleration, health, stamina, and also elite handling lol. Perfect for when you want to ride a Mustang but hate the poor stats.
If you go into blakwater when the mission to get sean is available you can just walk right in and have no problem

Hey thanks. Yeah, it bothers me when RUclipsrs basically beg people to support their stuff. I think that decision should be entirely up to the viewer. But also, I just don't know how much content I plan on making. I don't want to get into the habit of just making videos for the sake of it. If I feel like I have something useful to add that hasn't been covered by someone else, I'll try to make one. I have a couple other ideas in the pipe for other stuff, but I have other stuff going on in life, so I'm just not that sure of when that'll be.

compare to the Angelo bronte glitch which is happens in night time this one is much better bcos it is done in daytime or it could also be done in night time? the only disadvantage to this glitch is the limited area to roam compared to angelo bronte' s unlimited area...

the single player game was good. red dead online only teased me of more better missions and what I got was grief when random players just keep killing you. lots of cheaters too, 4 players possies would spawn right next to me and would keep killing me over and over untill I had to exit. I like playing call of duty moder warfare much more... no grief...just fun times
