RDR2-How to Reach New Austin (Cross Blackwater) Safely as Arthur (Any Chapter)

- Hey Guys, basically, you can cross Blackwater as Arthur completely Unhurt as I did in the video. So every journey from Saint Denis to New Austin counts (at least you don't die in Blackwater)
Please watch till the end and follow what I do. In the video, the spawning Pinkerton locations I point out are 99% accurate.
Tall Tree entrance (I did) is nearer for Middle and North New Austin.
Thieves Landing entrance is nearer for Middle and South New Austin.
The wooden bridge (middle) may be the easiest to enter.

@@deysinc2205 I think maybe because in the video, I tried it in Early Chapter2. As you proceed in the game, it is true that the pinkertons have upgraded their fire power. For example, in Chapter3&4, they also have many shotguns and rolling block rifle since you have unlocked those weapons so they really can be more deadly in later chapters. Think I will make a video about it in the future😄

Thank you so much!! No guide elsewhere could explain in what conditions do the Pinkertons spawn in NA. I also always get caught by that one Pinkerton, and 1 split-second later, it would be 50 more.

exactly, the sniper is the most annoying thing in the entire game
If you lose the Pinkerton when you enter the Beecher's Hope, you can go all the way through Thieves Landing. The Pinkerton would not spawn if you go that way.
I have tried it many times.
You can also use the stage coach at Armadillo, Tumbleweed, and MacFarlane Ranch to get back to Valentine.

I'm a bit late to this video but I gotta say this method works like a charm
Heh, I figured out the same route as this a few days ago (go through the gate, avoid the first group of Pinkertons to the right, go left and wait) and it worked...a few times, then for some reason the Pinkertons started spawning inside the ranch, to my right, as I waited next to the ledge/hill and killed me.
I'll try to go around a bit like you do here instead of heading straight to the base of the ledge/hill and maybe that will correct their spawning.
EDIT: If you do what he does and approach the left fence you have a high chance of spawning the Pinkertons on the outside, so just do a circle and then head for the gate if this happens.
I have gone through there several times and I just slow down a little bit at the start so they spawn outside of Beecher's Hope then get hung up on the fence while they try to ride straight at me. I watch a lot of videos showing how Arthur shoots his gun once in a while to keep them on your trail, but after that first group I just drive like hell to Thieves Landing. I never get a second group. Sometimes there is an anomaly but it is very rare.
@@RBCharger Yeah you generally get a second group on your far right after you pass Beecher's Hope but from my experience they never cut you off. You just need to make sure you can make it to the bridge right as the wanted level wears off so you don't get another group spawning on the bridge itself as that will get you killed or spawn cops inside NA.
I've lost bounty hunters riding down train tracks away from the main roads before. Maybe that can work on Pinkertons in New Austin

I’m on my 6th try right now to get the tiger mustang, the route is perfect but it’s always the sniper that gets in the way. I’ll comment again if I successfully get the horse 👍🏾
If you get shot by the sniper, u need another baggy wagon from saint denis & ride all the way to tall trees. Gonna take a long time

So you can get there but u still can’t get out of the buggy and walk around or hunt, collect stuff, etc
Really wish rockstar had listened to the players and put a patch or something In to allow u to go to a certain point and the snipers would stop to allow u to explore with Arthur, hopefully they learned from this and when rdr3 comes out in 8 years they won’t make same mistake.
I finally just downloaded Rampage trainer and shut off the invisible sniper. I then collected all plants, legendary animals and fish, trinkets etc. as Arthur in chapter 2.

I did this around a year ago and it was the most stressful and infuriating thing ever. I managed to get the legend of the east as Arthur using this strategy. I plan to go back to that save file and get all the Dino bones too.
@@dead_eye_betyar Yes you are able to do some things, but you need to place the buggy in a very careful position to avoid the sniper shooting at you, and no the sniper will not stop shooting
@@dead_eye_betyar The sniper will keep shooting you forever but you just have to angle your camera in a way where the back of Arthur’s head is still hidden behind the wagon.
You don’t need to go past Blackwater for the legend of the east satchel. You can find all pelts in Lemoyne, West Elizabeth, Ambarino and New Hanover. For the lizard pelt, there’s an island in Flat Iron Lake just west of the area between Rhodes and Braithwaite Manor that has Iguanas.

The Payoff of going to New Austin is , attempt as Arthur to get to Ridgewood Farm to do the Gold Ingot Glitch by using the Overhead Camera view so that the Sniper keeps missing

Great question, dude. You can check some of my other New Austin videos. The basic idea is that you have this buggy block the shot for you all the time in New Austin. It is hard but through some trial and error, it can be done. Maybe I should make some videos talking about these practices😀
You can hunt the animals while being in the buggy as you can examine the points on the ground without having to get out, you just need to find them.
Yeah, besides you don't have to skin them to get them. And you can kill them with fire or explosive bullets.

@@regina77phalange exactly, Help me configure my camera on the PS4, I'm having difficulties, I did as in the video, but when I get off the wagon, the camera already goes up to Arthur in 3rd person. If help is available, I just imagine that there is no way, due to the PS4 update (Build 1491.16)

I guess it should be the same config on PS4? and the method should work OK with all the updates. When I get into New Austin, I make sure I'm already using the 3rd person view the farthest.

you can, after the Hosea Hunting Mission. It can be really difficult, though😄
You can get the legend of the east satchel as arthur in chapter 3 without this nonsense. Complete all challenges except gambler 10 and herb 9&10. Collect atleast 5 or so herbs for herbalist 9. Then replay the swanson mission from chapter 2 and in the poker game go all in every hand and win 3 hands in a row, thus completing gambler 10. Boom. when you finish that replayed mission, the LOTE outfit will be unlocked without finishing herb 9 and 10. you can easily do horseman 9 without dying. just use tonics and ignore the law and run. the hungarian can also be found around riggs station.
This is definitely not nonsense to me. It is not just for Arthur getting the Outfit. It is about Arthur getting all the New Austin stuff in Chapter2😄
quick question, once going in is there a way out? I want to get all the pelts I can and come out to sell it to a trapper, unless I already can in new austin then just let myself die
Actually, once you shoot the Legendary Animals dead, you don't need to skin them. Just wait some time and their Perfect Pelt(always perfect) will be delivered automatically to Trapper. That is a good thing about it. Will make a video about it. Give me some time😄

In the Beginning of Chapter4 the Angelo Bronte Mission saving little Jack, you can use the Glitch to go to New Austin as Arthur without the sniper shooting you. But the things you can do are limited, like No Dino Bones, No Herbs, No Legendary Animals spawning at that point. And the time you explore would always be night, which is a bummer, too

Beginning of chapter4, Angelo Bronte Mission (saving Jack), the glitch enables you to come to New Austin without sniper. There are certain catches with that glitch, though: 1.no herbs 2. no legendary animals 3. no dino bones 4. night time
Which I'm pretty sure was patched. Cause I did that same glitch, and immediately died. Someone in the comments section said that it was patched.

It a great method but the police keep spawning and attempting to kill you is extremely annoying
In New Austin, I just found out there are certain spawning locaitons of the single-patrolling pinkerton and they just go on stable route. There are not so many of them. May make a video about it in the future. A good tip is to pause to your Map to see if there is one riding around you😄
if you lose your wanted status before you enter new austin, they won't be there
My coach wagon was shot up at Beecher's Hope by pinkertons. I made it a cross the lower Montana river on one of their horses but was shot in the back by an invisible gunman rapidly 🤷
It is the case for Arthur Era in New Austin. That's why we need a wagon to protect us😄
@@regina77phalange I know but unfortunately the pinckertons came at the front and not the back at Beecher's Hope. Then I was like "screw it" and went as far as I could go on a horse. But I will try this method again soon. Getting to New Austin as Arthur should be on every RDR2 fan's bucketlist 😉

I always get killed by snipers even with the camera follow turned off. I made a couple saves and every time I upload the save with the buggy it's just me and my horse so I can't try it over and over.
I've got some of the videos about how to drive the buggy relatively safely. Can check them out😄Although some practice is really needed. Very difficult for me in the beginning, too. About the save, it is a pity that we cannot save the game with the buggy. Every time we get shot, we do need to get this buggy from Saint Denis again🥲

You can get in using a buggy but no new horses there. The exclusive Tumbleweed Stable horses are only unlocked from epilogue.

Yes, it has to be this wagon. You find it in Saint Denis. Either in it, or running out of it, or running into it😀Easy to find: set up a camp and Fast Travel to Saint Denis. You will reach the upper western entrance. Wait at the bridge a little while. You will see it

Where can you get this buggy?
A lot of them in and near Saint Denis. I would suggest Fast Travel to Saint Denis and wait at the bridge and you should see one coming and going😄

The 2 exact spots are important. Once you are spotted by the 2nd group, you start to speed up and let them tail you. I will upload other examples

Rockstar is not stupid and I am not. I think you are not, either. I guess you are new to the game and probably don't know about Arthur exploring New Austin, yet. There are tons of them out there. You don't have to die getting off from the buggy. I guess everyone has their own way of playing the game. I respect your way. I and other Early-New-Austin-explorers just want to show another

Yes, that's one way of doing it. Though sometimes, even if you do so, whenever you engage in a gun fight like with Del Lobo, they still hit somewhere of the buggy to cause fire on it

If you check the video at around 2:50, there are also pinkertons when I enter Beecher's Hope, too. Ignore that group of pinkertons, please. You only need more times for it to work and you will find it work well in the end. Trust me, dude

But, after that still got some issues....Saw horse as you describe but, it does not goes the right path always, I lost it twice. Plus, I got SHOT. And it is very borring to start quest again and again, go back to Saint Denis take buggy and all the way back, you know ?

Another thing dude. .Won t be easy when you are in buggy to switch to first person, so this way you don t have to bother with sniper perspective from high up ?
@@raulstancu1327 I found out the opposite is true. The nearer your look at Arthur like 1st person perspective, you are more likely to get shot
I did this with the Appleseed Timber wagon. The wood panels sit very high up. It's still a royal pain in the cock. Narrowly finished that herbalist challenge getting picked off right after I got the last plant.
Worth it? Honestly I'm not sure. You can't get the outfit until after Horse Flesh for Dinner anyway.
What about the milkwagon in St. Denis? It seems rather high up and covers Arthur's head - it's just a bit cumbersome.
@@singingflowers7456 problem with the milk wagons is that dismounting always leads to the camera panning to Arthur's dome. Which is a no go. I think the smaller carriage in Saint Denis is doable, but you gotta go all the way out there to get it. The Appleseed ones are right in West Elizabeth.

With the buggy? Yes. Be warned that it will take hours though, the Bass took me 10 hours. You might want to do it with the Bronte glitch instead.

Is the cart needed?
All the time in New Austin for Arthur. There are other shield like wagons, animal carcass. Only in the Angelo Bronte Mission(saving Jack), you can use the glitch as Arthur without a cart
What's the point though? You can fill in the map, but can't stop and explore anywhere or go hunting. Might as well wait.

I explored the Blackwater portion (not NA, because of the sniper) on a fast horse. I died a few times, lost a bunch of money, and got nothing else out of it. Not worth it. I see no way that carefully positioning a wagon between myself and the sniper (while still dodging Pinkertons) would make it any easier to do anything but keep moving to fill in the map, and I can fill in the map later as the game allows. So why bother, when there's so many better things I could do?
@@Brandyalla I respect your way of playing the game. When I did my first walkthroughs, I wait until John, too. However, in my later walkthroughs, I would want Arthur to collect items as early as possible because to me, RDR2 is all about Arthur(No offense to John, I played RDR about 12 years ago and was crazy about John at that time). I would agree with you on the point that there are not as many things in Blackwater and New Austin as in safer lands, but there are quite many things Arthur can unlock early and I would want to do that. There are so many ways to play this game I believe and your way I believe will always be the best. There are so many people out there like me who want to challenge ourselves a bit and share some thoughts with other people. And there are something you can do in Blackwater without being hassled by pinkertons using some of the missions😀All in all, just enjoy your way of playing and understanding the game and I highly respect your opinion

Did you know that the first sniper shots are entirely random?! Many times the sniper killed my horse! At one point when going far into New Austin, it did the same thing! The buggy method is becoming outdated.
Yeah like you enter New Austin from the boarders, the first shots are shot by your side like warning. Then, the next one starts to aim your head

The title is misleading. It is not 'safely'. The sniper is still there. I just used Rampage trainer and comfortably explored the area getting myself Otis Miller's revolver

I never exaggerate a thing in my title to attract. Plus, just enjoy your way to play the game. I am sharing some methods for all platforms

I get shot by bounty hunters way before reaching new austin. If you die you have to aquire a buggy again, ride all the way to blackwater border again and from there all way through to new austin. If you make any mistake you can do it all over again. And for what? 😂😂😂
Have to admit it can be really a pain in the butt😂My mentality is that I feel satisfied already for even one tiny item each trip. You don't want to try too many times a day. Don't forget to enjoy the other fun of the game😄
I think they patched it the invisible sniper shot through the hood
If it gets you from the back, then it is from the hole of the buggy. You have to angle your camera not to expose Arthur's head through that hole. I should make a video about safe driving in New Austin😄

I feel you the first group of pinkertons are faster than me and all shoot at the same time right through the back of the buggy. Can’t even make it to NA
You really have to follow my route and follow every step to arrive New Austin unhurt. Maybe try another time. The pattern is what I described in the video. I tried it enough times to guatantee you😄It should work most of time

Always try to give your Buggy Back to them. Never the Side or the Front. It may take several attempts I would say. If you follow the video, like all the locations, your may do it on first try😄Maybe you can tell me where and how you get killed by them in Blackwater?
@@regina77phalange even when the back of the buggy is to them the bullets hit the back and still hurt me and the miracle tonics don’t heal quick enough for me to get away from them
@@georgesimon1070 Make sure that they spot you at the ridge of the hill on the left and you trigger a wanted level. Then you go immediately. Don't get rid of them in Blackwater. Lure them until you lose the wanted level at the borader

@@Harald98 both my controller and mouse are wired. sometimes the wires just get tangled up and if you move the mouse cord a little, the cursor shows up on the screen
