Thanks for watching honestly I never unplug the battery when upgrading ram and SSD’s but I understand your concern but I advise being careful when doing so it’s usually a small ribbon cable that has a latch connected to the motherboard that needs to flipped up to remove the cable. Just imagine damaging that connection now your laptop won’t charge then you have a laptop that has to be plugged in at all times. But search RUclips for “ Lenovo loq 15APH8 Teardown “ good luck let me know how it goes.

Do we need thermal pad on ssd as it is on the other one? Also i noticed some components on the laptop where you placed the new ssd wont it effect those wiring due to heat?
I don't think its necessary because the ssd has space between the m.2 and motherboard but you can if you want too. Just make sure its a thin piece of thermal pad.

Now the last question before i open everything up again, does an m2 fit with a heatsink? i'm not sure if i can take it off of the WD one in the playstation...
Not sure sometimes those heatsink's over m.2 can be thick the only way is to try it out. But m.2 SSD's are super cheap and hopefully you live near a microcenter. Worst case scenario grab a new one. This laptop is nice I'm loving it!!!!! Let me know how it goes

@@erik-thespitz1776 you might face a battery drain issue i.e the battery level decreases even when it's plugged. just call up lenovo and they'll probably upgrade your adapter from 170w to 230w and that should take care of that if you ever face the issue.

Don’t think you can change your graphics card on a laptop. It’s more than likely soldered to the motherboard. You can buy an external gpu. My graphics is nvidia RTX 3050

I hope you used the correct size screwdriver and not stripped the screws. worst case scenario use some needle nose pliers and grab the outer edge of the screw and turn left or use a very small amount of WD40 . It really should of just come off strange!!!!!!

Yes you are going to have to back up your current ssd to a external drive before replacing your ssds. Samsung makes really good m.2 ‘s . But honestly you can pretty much grab any decent brand solid state drives.

Nearly 4.5 minutes before even turning a screw, and over 10 minutes until the back cover is removed is just taking way too long - way too long to get to the point, IMO. You can put in 16 +16 =32 gb or 8 +8 =16 gb or 16 + 8 =24 gb
