    Not every M45A1 comes out of their custom shop. The custom shop pistols have their own UPC and come in a pelican case. The ones in the blue case like the one in the video comes straight off their line. Also the USMC wasn't replaced by the stars but rather the M45A1 on the slide.

    That pistol is just a straight production line pistol. It's still a better pistol than anything else in that price range with the exception of a Dan Wesson. The Custom Shop version has front strap checkering and comes in the Pelican Case.

    The M45A1 replaced the Meusoc M45s, not the berettas. Hence the "A1". Thats not a custom shop version you have there. Blue box is a regular production pistol. That tight slide will loosen up after about 200rds

      Modern 1911 manufacturers have gotten the whole process down now. They all do a factory throat and ramp to feed hollowpoints (and conversely ammo makers have it down to a science making hollowpoints with the correct ogive to feed just about anything), they all have their extractors tuned properly, and most importantly thry have their magazines made right. Colt only changed to CNC machining maybe 12 years ago so their specs are much tighter and milling is within thousands of an inch tolerance. Not like back in the 1980s when it was so sloppy with the slide not marching the frame, coming out with an "overbite" or an "underbite" and uneven rails.

    I have 3 Colts. A series 70, s series 80, a 1i91 A1, and a 10 MMS Delta Elite. The Delta is the only one I've ever seen with 2 recoil springs, The proper spring should deal with recoil. I agree you should have gotten at least two mags. I also have 3 or 4 Springfield Armory 1911's. They are all great. At least two mags, no break in issues, no need for double springs. Nice packaging. While I have always had a great deal of respect for Colt I must agree that their quality has suffered the last 10 to 14 years. Good luck, custom shop or not.

    Recently picked up my first colt, a competition series 45 G. Have 150 rounds thru it with oem, springfield, wilson combat and chip McCormack mags. The colt mag had three fail to leave mag on the first mag but no other malfunctions. My trigger is just under 5# (heaviest of my seven 1911’s), a cylinder & slide trigger kit is on order. My colt only came with the one mag.

    I was going to make several corrections to your comments concerning your purchase of the Colt M45A1, but after reading the comments I found several people have already corrected the errors. However, your Colt is a nice piece of hardware and after you get over the disappointment of how it was shipped and not being in the Pelican case, I'm sure you will enjoy the weapon and it will provide many decades of enjoyment. I say decades because I have a Colt 1911 that was manufactured over 80 years ago and it still runs like new. If you take care of it, it will take care of you. Enjoy...

    Nice Video - you are honest - that is a relief. Like it has been said down below - that is not from the Colt Custom Shop. Don't know who in your purchasing Dept said it was going to be from the Custom Shop - but that was a mistake. Your Blue Case the Mag in the Case (colt custom shop pistols are shipped with a Colt Mag (still only 1 mag and the Name colt is stamped on the mag))- The bar code serial number on the frame - The lack of Heavy Lubrication - and the fact that it is a Government purchase are all signs that it is the Regular assembly line pistol. Doesn't mean it is bad - but that accounts for the first few feed issues you had. The Custom shop pistols are shot enough at the factory to get past the first few feed problems, and because of that - they are heavily - i mean heavily lubricated when shipped from Colt Custom Shop (Another reason the for the Heavy lubrication is that many of the m45A1 made in the custom shop are purchased by collectors who can afford the increase price of the colt custom shop and the pistols are put directly into gun collectors guns safes and never fired again.) So enjoy your weapon - if you become unhappy with it - let me know i will purchase from your PD.
    As for your holster - i have custom holsters made to accommodate the unique shape of the M45a1 and the ligt&laser attachment on the firearm

    Great firearm!! However speaking from my experience with those dual springs, if you ever able to find them buy extras!! Colt never has enough of them! I ended up replacing my combat elite springs with standard weight wolf and I noticed absolutely zero difference in recoil management! I was also very disappointed in my new combat elite after few hundred rounds the ambi safety fell like it was ready to snap . Hopefully quality will improve with cz

    Should ALWAYS verify via the product code and the UPC code exactly what you are getting. Otherwise, don't buy it sight unseen. IMHO. Mine is an 'FB' read-foxtrot bravo cqb custom shop model. In 2 tone ion bond black over flat dark earth. Came in green pelican case with 2 Wilson Combat 7rnd magazines, colt cleaning kit and custom shop test target. Is extremely accurate and shot "high" at 10yds till I read that it was factory sighted to shoot to point of aim at 25yds. Not sighted for a 6 o'clock hold. The front strap is fully checkered. The only downside that I have noticed about it is that it has not had a carry melt treatment on it anywhere on the gun. EVERY surface on this pistol is deadly! It is so sharp that it has ruined 2 kydex and 1 leather holster and is not a particularly 'fun', or comfortable gun to carry. Feels EXTREMELY "dense" and solid. Like if you shot it to empty on insurgents in a battle, you could turn it around and hold it by the muzzle and beat an enemy squad to death with it like a serious battle tomahawk and it wouldn't even scratch the gun! This is a serious combat weapon. Love mine and enjoy how rare it is too even have one.

    • @williamdeforte3032
      @williamdeforte3032  Год назад

      Then you got ripped off… sorry to be the one to tell you that.
      The manufacturers actually set a common standard for “blue label.” Three (3) magazines are the definitive standard so the officer has two mags for the belt and one in the pistol…
      And most often blue label comes with night sights as well…
      Lower price is commonly cost and you MUST provide Leo identification
      So to be honest, I don’t think you are getting blue label guns
      I can however set you up with good contacts so that you get the real “blue label” package if you are interested.
      I don’t like to see people get taken advantage of, and would like to offer my contacts

I see the comments already addressed the fact it didn't come in a Pelican case and that this is not from the custom shop which is true obviously. So my 1st question is why would you do all of your training with a pistol you don't plan to use for duty? Also why didn't you just buy a wilson combat?

    • @williamdeforte3032
      @williamdeforte3032  Год назад +1

      Firstly, Colt stated that this particular model is a custom shop only offering. Secondly, the pelican case was in fact a part of the promised purchase…
      Furthermore, our TAC Team typically goes through 20,000 rounds per officer, per weapon… so mitigating the weather and tear is not uncommon for us by using a few extra weapons…
      Lastly, none of us felt like Wilson for this purchase…🤷🏻
      Hope that answers your questions

      @@williamdeforte3032 I fully understand that these were offered through the colt custom shop before they were mass produced for the general public. Yours however does not look to be a custom shop model which would have come with that blue Box, If you were promised a green Pelican case that's kind of odd. I'm sorry I did not mean to offended you but I kinda got the impression this was your 1st 1911 purchase. I thought maybe you didn't know very much about them especially after hearing you talk about the Guide rod , which is a standard GI and not a full length (like you kind of said)
      The reason I asked my training question Is because I got the impression that you were going to use this for training and then not use a 1911 pattern handgun. I kind of felt like, wouldn't you want the feel, the weight and the confidence you would get from training with the gun your going to carry... 20000 rounds is nothing on a well built 1911 couple new Springs here and there maybe.
      Also about just getting a Wilson combat, call me slow but I didn't understand your answer.

      No worries my Friend. It is very difficult to convey all of the necessary information. There is always a back story…
      My frustration was geared towards Colt pretty heavy, as this was not the first disappointment that we have had from purchasing Colt products. Call me crazy, but for $1,500, we expected the Pelican case and at the very least, 3 magazines! Law Enforcement purchases pretty much come standard with three mags so that the weapons are “duty ready” out of the box. That disparity really pissed me off

I owned numerous Colt 1911s in the late 80s and early 90s, and they were much better than what you have in your hands. Colts nowadays have numerous issues on all platforms.
