@@sergeantmasson3669 with what? a 45, a 308, a zippo & a pack of cigs? that's no way to go through hell; but my grandfather did it. he had a wife & two kids, but our country came first.
I have owned a 1911 since I got off active duty in 1989. I own 2 Glock 9mm's a G17 & G43x and A smith & Wesson 4 inch model 686 in stainless steel. As a cop, I carried a smith 357 4 inch 686 and it was and still is my favorite, when Glock's came in I switched over to one in 9mm and 40sw for duty. My 2 1911's I have always and still to this day carry off duty winter and summer. The 1911 is what I had and used in the military for the 6 years I was in. Once out of the military I bought a Springfield armory blue steel loaded model and later on a stainless steel Springfield loaded in 45 caliber using 8 round magazines of top-notch for reliability with them both having over 3k rounds fired with no issues because I keep them clean and lubricated. ** Secret for me in the reliability of both guns is to only use a 16lb recoil spring weather music wire or chrome silicone (my favorite) and stay away from modifications that have to rhyme or reason. Both have GI recoil systems, Novack sights and milled stainless steel magazine catches that's it
Served as a Combat Engineer, 101st Airborne Division when the 1911A1 was still the standard side arm. I also was my Company's Unit Armorer. Completed the United States Army's Armorer's School. Today in the Constitutional Militia my secondary weapon strapped in a drop leg holster is a Custom 1911A1 45ACP. It is the only side arm I would ever consider carrying and trust my life with. It is an extension of my arm. I like how it feels in my hand, and I like how it shoots.
thanks for the video, Some time ago I did not like 1911, but one day I decided to have one, I tried it, and I was amazed at that kind of weapons and mechanism, now, I am the proud father of four of those 1911 babies in different brands. for dairy carry, I prefer modern actions, for concealing and for less weight, but for hunting, the 1911 in 45 ACP or 10 MM.
If your grandson ask what is that grandpa. You can respond, this my grandchild is a 1911 45 Caliber given to us by the Lord God Almighty through the wisdom of His Prophet John Moses Browning, that we may smite our enemies and walk among them with out fear.
My cuz bought a Kimber 1911 never shot one before as soon as I fired it my first words woah......man.....after that I bought a Springfield MC operator 1911 over the phone on my lunch break.
The one handgun I would always trust with my life. Very few walk away from a .45 hit. And seven/eight of those rounds should finish any gunfight. If the world goes to hell,I want that gun on my hip!
Something about the 1911,it gets a hold on you,and when the day comes to part with it,all of a sudden you feel as if a member of your family is leaving. So you put the trusty old weapon back in its box, ready for another day at the range.
NICE 1911 but my problem is that it's a dam colt.they fell off back in the day and never recovered putting plastic parts and series 80 just made them go bad.thats y they file for bankruptcy several times IN OTHER WORDS THERE NAME DOESN'T HOLD ANY WEIGHT.WHEN U SAY 1911 NOW a colt is way ON THE BACK BACKS BURNER
I have 5 1911s. 2 les baers, 1 Ed brown, 1 Colt Commander, and 1 Springfield Ronin. They rotate night stand duty with my FN FNX .45 and HK VP9 9MM. so I carry 8 rounds in my 1911. I dont feel under gunned at all.
Damn so much recoil. I run a Gock 41 and i love it much better than a 9mm. I can shoot double tap without problems and the 2 shots are always in the A zone. Sorry for my bad english. Is it normal that a 1911 recoil so much? I don’t run a 1911 from a long time. I’m a Glock guy 😅
Recoil actually isn't bad. 1911s in 45acp generally have less felt recoil than polymer framed 45s because of the weight of the steel frame. I've shot this comparing it to a glock 30 and it's much smoother as far as recoil goes in my opinion
I was weaned on the 45 Auto in the United States Army, 326th Combat Engineer Battalion, 101St Airborne Division when we were training to take on the Soviet Army on any peace of Real Estate on planet earth. Not meaning to be so harsh dude, but if you seriously think the 45 kicks too much you should just give up shooting all together. I know woman who handle and shoot the 45ACP extremely well, and love it. Now for decades being out of the Army I double tap with my 45ACP and my 5.56 AR while training. And my groups are very close together and in the Kill Box. You control the Weapon, instead of the Weapon controlling you. When you grab a 45 son, you hold it and shoot it like a man.
Highly encourage a Les Baer or Ed Brown Special Forces. All Les Baers are the same. Just differs in stainless or blue, fixed or adjustable sights, full size of commander. Ut no frills. No gimmicks. Pure 1911 beauty. My Special Forces is slick. Costed woth Cerakote-like coating, every fitted and smooth. No frills. No fluted barrels, no cuts in the slide, no ball end milling, just solid pure 1911.

That's a beautiful looking firearm, and I'm pretty sure the trigger and reset is amazing. But on the battlefield and in a home defense situation... I'll take the Glock 21.
staplers are good guns and they come in man size cartridges now, but they where not invented when I was learning to shoot the 1911, and now my muscle memory performed better with the 1911 designs. I don't have to think about what I can do with one, they are all so similar as soon as I pick one up I'm good to go.
Still in service within MEU. There’s a lot of Fudd-lore in this video but this is a great handgun and 1911 in particular. It’s not a high-end custom 1911 but when the early 2016 batches with the Ionbond finish rolled out for around $1600, it was worth it’s weight in gold.
The gun so good they named a year after it.
God made man,Sam Colt made them equal, but John Moses browning,he made them civilized and free
111 YEARS and still going strong. Thank You Mr. Browning, may you rest in peace, you've certainly earned it!

"45 is better because it is" truer words have never, ever been spoken.
It’s like that saying about old men...they’re old for reason...same for the 1911 🇺🇸

Thanks for yr review of the 1911. Best pistol in the world. Just because it may be old doesn't mean it is not effective. If it aint broke dont fix it.

Junk. The frames are cracking. The only ones worth anything are the ones with the Marine Corp, Eagle, Globe, Anchor on the slide.
prototype frames, the ones in circulation now dont have the cuts in the slide and frame that caused the recoil spring to bind and the frame to crack
