The colt Railgun has the same rail. It will fit in a Springfield operator rail holster with modifications... if you get kydex use a heat gun, holster the gun then put it in the freezer and you’ll be set. 1791 leather 1911 holsters fit as well, just a little snug at first. I also make custom leather holsters and have one that allows for the X300 tac light.
Good choice and it should be a treasure. I'm sure glad I was able to get one of these too. It went on my wishlist when they were first announced in American Rifleman. BTW it isn't the custom shop version. If you had one of those, your would really have an exclusive.
Beautiful review. I have the early cerakote version when it came out last 2012, and was still contemplating on getting an ion-bond version. Also I I really haven't seen the ion-bond version used by USMC on the training vids here in youtube.
Hey amigo, your pistol is a production version. The custom shop models came with the pelican case, the otis cleaning kit and more hand fitted pieces. The production line versions are packaged in the blue hard shell case such as yours. Nonetheless, very very nice pistol.
Anthony Arena I love it! Sweet shooter it’s a lot of fun and yes I do carry it I’m using a Kydex holster for now a little heavy but it’s no big deal I won’t be carrying as much but I also have a leather holster as you can see it on my other videos it’s perfect!
That is very strange about the finish on the Standard Manufacturing 1911. The color case hardened finish is part of the steel -- it is not a coating that goes over the steel so I have no idea what was "flaking" off your pistol. Standard specializes in its finishes, from their royal blue to color case hardened, so I'm surprised you had problems. You sounded like a man in love when you made that video on the Standard. Did you end up selling it? I want the blued version of the 1911. There are no videos of that pistol.
@@sstaub the story sounds a little fishy. He didn't make a video showing the damage. I did hear that Standard puts a clear coat over the case coloring. Maybe the clear coat flaked out?
Beautiful 1911! Congrats! I have been eying one of these. I always liked the Kimber Desert Warrior but the ionbond finish really seems awesome.
Bought one today. It will compliment all my other springfields and colts
B Hewitt why don’t you post them what are your thoughts!

ybrik5 love the finish on this 1911 👌🏽
I got the Ion Bond finish 1st and then had a chance to pick up the Cerakote version shortly after. I honestly love them both. Glad I bought both.
Nicholas Tolomeo would like to see them side by side! Congrats brother! 👍🏽👍🏽
@@God_Glory_Guns What's your email? I'll send you a few shots of them.
I agree Standard Manufacturing customer service sucks! On the other hand your Colt is nice!
Colt no longer supplies the M45A1 from the custom shop to buyers in the Pelican case with the Otis cleaning kit.
ND4SSPD1 I know I see them from time at gun shows
I'm going to be stocking up on wilson Combat 7 round mags for mine
Yes sir very reliable mags! In my opinion the best to this day never had issues with any of mine

Anthony Arena yea I found out the next day lol but still a sweet shooter!!!

Todd B Lol yes I really liked the pistol but just didn’t workout. And as I said it’s by far the best pistol I have ever shot
@@God_Glory_Guns
Did the finish actually flake off? Makes no sense if so. Do you still have a pic of the before and after they repaired it?

Sweet, sweet sweet
Smooth front strap is best on a 1911
Yea I’m not that picky about having a front strap either way I’m good 👍🏽👍🏽
Wished it as my Christmas present when I grow up
Sadly probably can’t own one in NYC
Marine Corps,reary great.from Japan.

That's not a Colt Custom Shop model.

Why buy this when there is Beretta M9A3?
I also have the beretta M9A3
@@God_Glory_Guns Buy the second Beretta M9A3.
.45 beats 9mm, 1911 beats EVERYTHING!
How many burritos that cost you?
Hey Gibbs, how many meals of fried bologna and Mac and cheese would it cost your trailer trash ass to buy this. You fucking pecker head.
Wow this guy lol how many burritos 🌯 wow very classic sir
