    Loving my Ioniq 6 SEL AWD I picked up last week. No EV tax credit, but Hyundai is giving a $7,500 manufacturer rebate to compete. I was going to grab a ‘23, but those have a stop sale due to a recall. Those are $12,500 off. So, the dealer gave me more off on a ‘24 to make the deal comparable. EV’s were off my list of consideration because in the past the cost difference would allow me to maintain and fuel a hybrid for years. Now the cost was so close, I couldn’t resist. Love the look, the ride, and the performance. Being in Detroit, these are rarely seen, so I like that aspect of it, too. Great car!

      I have a 23. I missed the recall by 2 months! It only affects cars up to March of 2023, my model is from May.

      @jefflass699 8 месяцев назад

      @@Minurz I’m glad they offered me a similar deal on a ‘24. That ‘23 I wanted had been on the lot for a while, obviously with the recall being March and older cars. I wasn’t too keen on how long it had been sitting there. Glad you get to skip the recall hassle!

      thats how they get you.

    • @Minurz
      @Minurz 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@dark6c159 There are only 2 people that that has happened to. And it happens to other EVs too. Like when tesla tried to charge a model 3 owner 50,000 because they didn't seal the battery correctly and it got flooded.

    • @jefflass699
      @jefflass699 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@dark6c159 That was an outlier situation where some Canadian stealership was price gouging without obtaining proper pricing from Hyundai. Of course the battery is going to cost a lot, but not anywhere near that, and as battery manufacturing efficiencies continue and batteries become more serviceable at the module level, then obviously even less cost.

    I’m an all around EV enthusiast and I love all the different set-ups and or engineering each manufacturer does to try and set their EV’s apart from other competitor’s. That being said, in the grand scheme of everything, no matter the manufacturer, it’s all about getting majority of the world to trust and WANT to have an EV. Now I’m speaking to the people that are reading this, that actually own and drive an EV on the daily. We know and see more often than not that people aren’t ready or should I say don’t feel ready(for all sorts of reason’s)reason’s that they themselves when being purely honest, when sitting in the passenger seat of my EV, can’t give me a really good reason(I’m sure a lot of us have seen this), but for me usually the response is EV’s scare them, they don’t trust them, doesn’t feel right, some have even admitted to not being able to comprehend how and or the technology is too much. Then obviously, there’s the more typical EV hating, wouldn’t step foot in one, to even the more extreme type’s that for no reason would walk past an EV pull a key/knife and slowly walk to the side of an EV and vandalize it(why???). I think they’re afraid in different context, ignorance too, afraid of what they don’t understand or want even want to. Sorry, went a bit down the rabbit hole, it just intrigues me. For me, the moment I saw the 1st Tesla in my life, I kindly asked the person if he could show me what it could do and I didn’t even hesitate I was so excited! This whole essay I just wrote, is geared towards, it’s gonna be a minute before a big part of society to jump on board and I think it’s sad because people should be more worried about their smart phone’s/AI then an amazing piece of human ingenuity, a new and much better/safer way of transportation for the better of our planet, the air we breath and just so much more, like maybe one day changing our infrastructure(cause at the fast expanding rate of super charger network)hopefully it pushes Solar, Wind, Geothermal, even Nuclear plant’s, as long as it’s a safe distance from human cities and communities. Alright, I’m done, I gotta go jump in my Tesla and head to work! Cheers my fellow EV driver’s! Btw…awesome video and great driving on that frozen tundra!✌️

      @futuristic_car_channel I also agree with a lot of you said. I in no means want to force people into an EV(let people move at their own pace). It wasn’t all that long ago when people were apprehensive when it came to not only computer’s, but Smart phones when 1st introduced. Now look, that’s all we use or depend on for almost everything, literally! By all means Drive whatever you want, but don’t knock down an EV cause people are looking for a better way of not only saving $ with another avenue of transportation. If someone NEVER stepped foot in one and that’s fine. Besides the misinformation I see/hear, TODAY’S EV’s are like that of new technology that people just need time to catch up to and or learn to trust. Just like horse’s to combustion, or rotary phones to today’s smart phones, internet, etc…Like I was saying it just intrigues me on how humanity needs a minute on bigger changes that affect society on a grand scale. People that NEVER stepped foot in one and just bash on them, like they’ve been driving one for year’s and have so much to say; it’s almost hilariously incorrect and or opposite to contrary. If only more were willing to give it a shot, rent or even demo drive one, then give your opinion. For those that ready or are curious, I tell them go to Tesla(sales people don’t badger you there, trying like hell to make you buy one, they just let you see for yourself, in peace, then ya leave when you’re ready(lol, most seek them out just for certain question’s). Really any Newer EV, like in this video, now finally much more affordable for average consumer’s, and are just getting so much better(especially within last couple to few year’s with other makes IMO), really it’s at the point of giving combustion a run for it’s money, sure there’s some more tweaking to do, just like combustion in the 80’s to present, it’ll just keep evolving for the better. Look at Tesla’s Super Charging Network that is not only growing substantially not for a power grab(that’s already happened)over other EV maker’s, it’s just so dialed in, it’s now become the standard charging for all EV’s today(not saying don’t use other networks either)but for traveling within state or Country. Where EV’s really shine is charging at home, simply plugging into a 240V port, saving us not only $$$(my electric bill is at most $30 more a month)but can get to anywhere we need to go, charge before going to bed, rinse and repeat, saving up for solar right now too. I do believe(IMO)of all the EV’s I’ve test driven, cause of my curiosity, it’s been quite a few! Tesla is still ahead in a lot of aspect’s at the moment and for that tech./Warranty, now more affordable. However, all other EV manufacturer’s are catching up, just like this video. Also, what you said about the battery make up/tech. you made some good point’s. However, these new LFP batteries are pretty impressive. Do a little research on them if you don’t know much about them(more EV manufacturing is moving towards this battery makeup). Very safe to not only environment(the element’s that make this battery, VERY stable/safe battery, used with a different, more abundant make up compared to it’s counterpart’s out there like Nickel and or Cobalt. Also, America is starting to recycle car batteries and like Tesla making their own in house, among other companies, right here in America, only getting better by the year! Like you said helping the communities, efficiency, and the future of this tech. is getting so much better by the year, lol as will the air we breathe! At this point, I’m interested in how this is gonna go in the near future when demand rises, how we’re gonna eventually decide which direction to go for electricity? Are we gonna be smart this time and go to sustainable energy or still act like Neanderthal’s and keep using fossil fuels like we are. NO, I’m not saying we don’t need oil, of course we do, just not at the substantial rate the world uses it. We all know(or I would think a lot of us seeing what we’ve seen)this is what drives our prices up, controlling the masses, starts war’s for the GREEDY and or ignorance, etc…! Plus, if we do decide to keep depending on fossil fuel at this huge rate or not…the new infrastructure could absolutely be a marvel if done right! We’re in the age of great Technology, but more importantly in the end the choices we make with it!!?? SSL✌️

    22,000 miles in BC, Canada, AWD SE. It handles the snow, mountains, twisty roads, etc. The highway assist is really good even on our often iffy backcountry roads. I think I saw this has a Bose speaker system. I'm surprised the speakers aren't better. It sounded decent enough, but I've definitely heard this track sound better in other cars you've driven. I've no way to charge this car at home, so I'd have to stop by a nearby charger, but I'm still considering it. I love the look of it and I've only ever seen Ioniq 5s in the wild, so it feels doubly unique in that it's kinda rare. I guess that means it's not selling too well, but oh well.

      I see another biased person who has mo idea what they are yapping about. Honda having massive recalls they can't even sell you car, Toyota price skyrocketed and giving you less for more money, my 2017 civic had a factoy issue with the ac system I had to pay for. Friends MDX had infotainment issue up until it was stolen (so was my civic) so maybe you should stop being biased and live in reality. Cause every dealership in the world want to be hyundai RN I litery just did an event for dealerships across Canada and the big message was "who is going to be the next hyundai/kia" so u tell me who's bad and who's not cause rn HYUNDAI is the #1 car brand in the world.

      @@peachulemon lmao, meanwhile Hyundai/Kia are recalling engines and batteries that catch fire. It's funny how you harp on Honda A/c or Infotainment, when the brand you're trying to prop up fails on those points, and then some. Also on cost, Hyundai is no longer competitive. This car is 46k, is is really better than a Camry or Accord?

      @@peachulemon💯... I've owned Honda, Acura, Infiniti and now a 2020 Kia Optima. My young daughter got Grandma's 2010 Hyundai Elantra. It has 80k and it's still on its original brakes. Oil changes, tires, wipers and battery are the only maintenance issues and haven't had a single problem. I hear these stories, but yet our experience with these cars has been with stellar reliability. If all the nonsense from Hyundai, Kia haters was actually true, I don't think they would be at the top of sales volume worldwide. For me, I will be sticking with the brand and if I want a higher level of experience, I'll get a Genesis.

      @@peachulemonYou mean the #1 stolen car in the world, because of their negligence of installing immobilizers in the majority of their vehicles making them easy to steal with just a USB. They’re uninsurable in some states in the US.
      No brand is without fault, but Honda, Toyota, Mazda are FAR ahead in dependability and value than any Hyundai/Kia product. Look up the Theta II engine issues, millions of junk motors that are ticking time bombs sold to customers. Heck, a quick search in the Hyundai/Kia subreddit will leave you questioning how they even sell vehicles. They’re not that great.
      I’d still rather have a Hyundai / Kia over any GM/FCA/Ford product, but to say they’re better than Honda/Toyota is ignorant, and extremely biased on your part.
