@@evosteff Don't know where the hell you've been. Max has been a fan favorite for close to a decade and I was a huge fan of Weili before she came to the UFC, wondering why it was taking them so long to pick her up.

Coming from a traditional MA background I've always been a switch hitter. But what I've found in kick boxing and MMA is that if I try to do my normal orthodox stuff in Southpaw, that's when I get hit. What works for me is having a totally different style between the two stances that lets me use the best of the stance while staying safe and giving the opponent more to think about. Or I guess more accurately I have open and closed stance strategies. I hate to admit it but my open stance style is very inspired by McGregor, ultra long range with lots of hand fighting. While in closed stance I'm in mid range to kick and jab my way in
Joanna and Rose will be remembered as all time greats regarded for skill. Zhang is just a place holder champion who will get embarrassed by Suarez because she only has physicality and is not a smart fighter.
@@jackslack7786 and not just her, her weird fanbase of women pretend to be inspired by her and her male fanbase act like she's unbeatable even though she's been exposed by rose
Herron Graham was slick as hell. He was a big influence on Prince Naseem Hamed as they came from the same gym. He was throwing the signature corkscrew uppercut that Prince and now Conor use and had similar slick angles and footwork like Prince
Zhang can try lots of different styles because she's very athletic - lots of fast-twitch muscle fiber that she was lucky enough to get from her parents. If you're less athletic than Zhang - which I assume most people are - then you're probably doing well to get good at a few things you can do at the highest level. Credit to Zhang for working her ass off despite her athleticism - that's what made Valentina and Aldo and Volko generational talents - the willingness to learn good technique and not simply rely on their athleticism.
I feel like boxing is in a good place. Better fights are being made. Idk if it’s a shift in the paradigm or if the culmination of a decade of buildup is paying off at the same time.
Definitely the best period in boxing in a long while. With the coming of the Saudis we have officially transitioned from the Floyd era to the Usyk and Crawford era. Americans continue to complain but that era of "protecting the 0" seems to be fading away.
I blame Volk for Max not switching as much anymore. Either he or Eugene Bareman said after their first fight that the plan was to leg kick Max to force him to switch stances because he’s easier to hit southpaw and they thought they could then finish him from there. Max barely switched at all after that until the Allen fight and a few moments ve Kattar
Bud Crawford is a hell of switcher. I was really hoping this was on Max…by far, my favorite fighter. Went to Holloway v Poirier 2. Thought max was gonna have it in the bag until he ate that nasty knee (in the 4th I believe).
18:30 dude ONE is going down the drain. a year or two ago when they did their ONE X event with Stamp and iirc Angela Lee that was fucking sick but since then its gone downhill with an incredible pace
If every female fighter took fighting as seriously as Zhang then WMMA would be a major draw component. Most WMMA fights just aren't interesting in paper or on the screen. Much respect to her for always going hard and trying to dominate, not point fighting or boring clinch hugging.
Zhang fanboys aren't ready to deal with the fact that she has a 50% takedown defense and will fall over and get beaten up by Tatiana Suarez. People will say she's a warroir and won't tap so shes going to sleep. #andnew
Zhang just lost twice to Rose. This is a true fact. UFC gave her the title shot because UFC needs a Chinese champ. So unfair for Rose who just performed a bad fight because of her trainer/s. I will keep rooting for her opponent's because she is an entitled punk
Zhang isn't that great, all her wins were washed or were mediocre. Really wanted Yan Xiaonan to prove that she's the better chinese fighter because of her clean striking but the judges favored control over damage.
These pseudo analysts are hilarious Zhang couldn't beat Rose. Yeah,it's easy to bulk up when Zhang is sitting on Paulo Costas "juice" all year round. Zhang did not even deserve a title shot against Esparza, she is 1-2 in her last 3.Are you kidding me????
