I think you had issues with the bolt because you didnt support the engine from the bottom to take the weight. If you put the engine up ever so slightly it would have come out easier. I suppose there are pro`s and con`s to jacking it up on stands or car lift
Thanks! I replaced my transmission mount, motor mount, and lower torque strut yesterday. I had the laptop next to car, watch a step, pause video, do a step, repeat until done. It went perfect. The video even tells the correct torque. Excellent job!
I was told by a mechanic friend that the engine mount needs to be replaced. he, argued further that I need to replace also the transmission mount and both upper and lower torque strut as well, even if it is still ok since it wouldn't be long before these items will turn bad also as they are of the same age. thanks.
I was having a vibration on the floor of my car you can feel it in the steering wheel and the seat and this got rid of the vibration after I change that. i changed the top two already as well
Ok... nice description same feeling.... vibration on the steering wheel... can feel it on the driver seat at times... when depress accelerator at low RPM... can feel the strongest vibration
I had the same problem, replaced it with generic parts and the issue got worse. Returned the parts and replaced it with HONDA OEM parts and now its back to feeling like new.
Thanks for the video. I learned my lower torque arm will not fit with my Civic up on ramps. After lowering the car then jacking on the passenger side front, everything fit together. Sharing for others.
Thank u for the in depth tutorial! Did mine with little hassle. Beware that it was easier for me to take the mount out than it was putting the new one on. Compared to the video.
I have a quick question because I’m about to do this to my car... I know you have the car lifted but doesn’t show you where supporting the engine when taking the mount off is it not necessary when taking this mount off to support the engine with a jack??
+Julio Sanchez You do not need to support the engine, this mount actually prevents the engine from rocking back and forth. It does not support the weight of the engine.
Bolts came out without too much fuss (I think it has been replaced before, looked in good condition for 104000 miles and one of the bolts had a different size head). The old piece popped right out but the new one wouldn't fit in. I had to jack up the engine and then beat the replacement in with a rubber mallet. Didn't solve my vibration, good thing I bought the full set from you folks. it must be one of the others. (vibration on reverse, constant forward speed and de-acceleration; little to none on moderate to strong acceleration)
+Joshua Jacob We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
And Honda wanted me to pay $232 for the part and labor 😅 thank you 🙏 I can do this one with confidence and gonna work on transmission and upper engine right after
Since 8 months my car was shaking like hell and pickup was extremely poor! today morning while washing my car i noticed that this strut is completely broken and 1 bolt was missing! Will replace this tomorrow!
Why can't I fit the rear part of the dogbone into the little space facing the rear of the car? The stock mount went in/out easily but the mount I ordered from you guys seems too fat and won't fit all the way in?
Yes, although I am not able to take out the parallel bolt near the front right tire. Left wd40 on there and will give it a couple hours. I changed every single other mount with relative ease compared to this one. Being under the car really sucks for torque, so i removed the wheel and got better access for torque, got 1 of the 2 parallel bolts out, they arent even rusted
Yesterday I tried to replace the old mount. The older one was completely torn. As I tried to install a new one, there is a gap between the mount (front end) and the engine such that I can not screw the bolts. How to solve this?
I learned my lower torque arm will not fit with my Civic up on ramps. After lowering the car then jacking on the passenger side front, everything fit together.
The bolts on mine are literally like spelled tight, they’re not rusted too, I’ve used wd40 and an impact, the impact won’t grab well cause it’s a tight spot, I have the car on jack stands in my driveway, someone please help!
So by replacing this part, you have eliminated the vibration in the seat and steering wheel at idle ?.....Does it matter if the car is manual or automatic with this part, it the same for both ??? My 2011 Honda is having vibration issues like you describe and the dealership replaced the passenger side mount BUT the vibration issue was still there ! I took the car back & argued with the dealership with them stating " All the other mounts are fine !" The dealership then put the car on the Scope to check all operating parameters and they were normal !! Something is causing the vibration I said !! Dealership: We cannot find the issue sir !! NOW I see this video and it makes sense to replace !
@James Murillo the torque mounts are NOT the same. Look at the exploded view of the auto vs. manual and you can see that the parts are different. They even have different part numbers.
The two bolts that are parallel with each other and literally stuck on there any help? I’ve tried almost everything. It won’t come off after multiple tries
@@hassantassawar9538 so did replacing this bottom torque mount fix the issue? It’s usually not the torque mounts that cause vibration but the main upper motor mount or trans mount
For future diyers, you can prob get away with getting the correct sized nut and place it on the top of the frame where the nutzert was before. If not the try to purchase that nutzert from an oem online parts page
Ordered from 1auto, received a defective part, what ever i do, even lifting the engine by unbolting the main motor mount, the part wont go in no matter what

@@1AAuto Oh! Good to know!
I’m trying to find the bolt size to get new ones when changing this part. Any advice?
I see you use regular ratchets and breaker bars. Would using a impact wrench be harmful?
Yes due to the Aluminum oil pan being the SUPPORT of the two steel bolts #manpower
Just use ratchets and a breaker bar. My half inch impact did no good on the big one. The bolt is long and was probably just twisting back and forth.

Gotcha. Thank you so much for these videos! I definitely need new motor mounts and your videos are going to make the job a lot easier to do!
I used my local auto store and they done have any only the mount. Just FYI you might just have to buy them from Honda.
so how does the performance and durability of the replacement compare to the oem lower torque strut engine mount? is it more durable and firm?
Probably not the same, if you want no vibrations you’ll probably need the OEM ONES with vacuum or hydraulic assistance
