Love your work. Can you tell me how much the length of the chain shrinks because of the chevron? So if you chained 34 for your sample and that was 12 inches, how long is your crocheted sample? I’d like to make a rectangular wrap and need to know how many chains I need. Thanks!

You could do Tunisian Simple Stitch bind off.
