Hello, I'm not a native English speaker and many times it's hard for me to follow videos in English, but with you I didn't miss a single word. Thank you!
Your channel is truly wonderful and you perfectly explained everything I am using this ocean stitch alternating a charcoal and a jewel toned color way that I needed to use up Thank you so much!
Oh My Goodness! This is such a beautiful stitch. Saw it years ago, but could never understand it. But, you have done such an amazing job of explaining and going slow enough that I could finally grasp it. Thank you so very much!
Might I suggest using a larger hook when doing the initial chain, then switching to the hook that you are going to use for the project. It makes it much easier to get into the foundation ocean stitch.
Yes, it is very pretty. You can choose the bind off method you prefer, see my video in my Tunisian Crochet School here: ruclips.net/video/MLr36bzuJmE/видео.html . 😊
Excellent explanation! I have a question: When you began the instruction, you already had your chain of 10 made, and the loop on your hook looked like it was sitting in a different position, almost like it was turned in a different direction than it would normally be after making chains -do you put the loop on your hook in a different type of starting position when you do Tunisian crochet? Is there a small knot or an extra smaller chain under it, that makes the loop stand up/turn a different direction? I'm going to look through your videos to see if there's a special technique you use. Thank you for this great tutorial, you explain this stitch pattern very well!
Thank you! So sorry for replying only now, but sometimes I do not receive a notification when someone leaves a comment... :/ Anyway, no, I don't start with a "special chain". Maybe the beginning loop looks a bit different because it is looser than the other stitches, it is "unworked", if you get what I mean. Or maybe it's just my personal tension. :)
I used a lovely, self-striping acrylic yarn by an Italian yarn company called Tessiland. It is out of production, unfortunately, but they have similar yarns too. 😉
Your videos are always clearly shown, you use yarn fat enough to show what is happening, and clearly explain every step- a win-win!
Thank you so much! :)
Awesome tutorial, thank you so much for being so clear and for explaining that the number of stitches change for the different rows ❤
Thank YOU!!
Thank you! I found your tutorial to be much more clear and detailed than others for the Tunisian Ocean Stitch, very helpful!
That was my goal exactly, so I'm happy you found it useful ☺️

I had never seen this stitch before, but it is very pretty and I plan to give it a try. How do you bind off?
Yes, it is very pretty. You can choose the bind off method you prefer, see my video in my Tunisian Crochet School here: ruclips.net/video/MLr36bzuJmE/видео.html . 😊

What upis the variegated yarn that you have in the background? It is beautiful with this stitch.
This is "Chuck" by Tessiland.com. 😊
What yarn did you use for the beautiful green blanket?
I used a lovely, self-striping acrylic yarn by an Italian yarn company called Tessiland. It is out of production, unfortunately, but they have similar yarns too. 😉
Practice stitch Swatch should be at least 6 in so one can learn the stitch easier
It was a long explanation, so I preferred to make a small swatch. Hope it's still understandable. Thank you!
Good instruction but annoying background music
Thank you for your comment. I eliminated the background music in later videos. 🙂
