    Tunisian is my favorite type of crochet! It has been awhile for me so it was great to be reminded how to start! I have sooo many Tunisian hooks! Especially for some of the thick yarns. So excited to maybe try this again!

      I'm not sure which tunisian hook is best. I tried knit picks tunisian hooks. They are ok,I wish the head where hook part hooks the yarn was tiny bit longer, so its easier to grab the yarn. I seen a handful of tunisian crochet hooks on Amazon. I wonder which are best for doing tunisian crochet. Any info would be appreciated.

    Another option to not finding a long cabled Tunisian hook is to do the blanket in blocks much like a granny square blanket using the hook you have and stitching it together.

    Wow, you make this so simple. My biggest pet peeve is when I started a blanket with a hook. It was easy, and then I started having issues. Instead of tearing it all aprart and starting over! Kept on going. Well I'm not liking it at all. After seeing this. I might pull it all and start over. I dont work on it every day. So this project has dragged on. Lol. I think by Christmas 😂 I might be done. Lol really enjoyed your time to explain it! Thank you

      I did a little bit of research on this, and if my math is correct, Bernat Plush (not Big, regular Plush) is the heaviest I've tested, weighing in at approx 1.7 grams per yard. I hope that helps!

    How do you know if you go into or skip the first or next to the last stitch?

    • @mooglyblog
      @mooglyblog  Год назад +1

      With Tunisian, the loop on your hook before you begin a row counts as your first stitch, so you can "skip" that one. You should pretty much always work into the last stitch unless you are doing some shaping, as for a garment.

    Why was I watching another tutorial by B Hooked in this Full Stitch where she does the beginning and ending stitch the same on each row. Example, if she goes in first space at the beginning then she goes into the last space of the same row alternating each row. Next row she would skip that space and then skip the last space too of the same row. She even wrote that out on the slide to do the same thing at beginning and ending of each row. Why is your method different? Does it give same results? I have not tried each way to see if it still offsets the same and not decreasing or increasing as well. I would love to know this answer because I’m about to start my blanket. I’m not sure which way would be easier to do. Possibly it’s just a different way of doing the same stitch. Which way do y’all recommend…….doing the opposite on each row or the same on each row? I hope this makes sense. Also I’ve seen where she also does a slip knot when introducing new color which is something I’ve never seen. Does anyone have any thoughts on this technique of using different colors when introducing the new color the first time?

    I am driving myself nuts trying to find a long cabled double ended crochet hook to make a blanket. I watched a very old video where she makes a wide blanket using a 14" cro hook. According to her you can make it any width you like just by turning and using two colours. I cannot find any instructions on how she does it, and her video is hard to follow. Have you seen anything like this please? Her video was called "Crochenit Bedspread Technique". I do know how to do the TSS.

      Hi Mary! Finding long cabled crochet hooks can be tricky! You might want to look at this selection on Amazon (afflink): amzn.to/3PSwlcq
      I just looked up the video at ruclips.net/video/E_PgFcdqKtA/видео.htmlsi=Mdb71FfxRpRqP7aQ - what a fascinating technique! The video is a bit blurry though. I tried to find another video demoing this technique, which is basically a variation of double ended crochet, but haven't been able to find anything, much to my surprise! I think I'll have to start playing with this technique myself and see what I can come up with. :) Thank you for leading me down this new rabbit hole!

      Mary Maxim (based in Canada, but shipsto USA) carries double ended cabled crochet hooks. They have many tools, patterns, yarns and supplies for knitting, crochet needlework, plastic canvas, puzzles and Christmas crafts. Established in 1956 and family owned. Love them!

    Hi how came my tunisian keep curl

    • @mooglyblog
      @mooglyblog  2 месяца назад

      Hi Karen! Tunisian has a natural tendency to curl due to the structure of the stitches. To combat this, there are a few things we can do. 1. Use a much larger hook than you would normally use for that weight of yarn. The looser the stitch, the flatter it will lay. 2. Use Tunisian Purl Stitches along the edges or as a border or design feature to push the fabric the other direction. 3. Blocking after the project is done. I hope that helps!
