The timing of that boat passing was just brilliant. As soon as you mention the motorway, all those people in their cars rushing to get somewhere, the noise from the tyres on the road, a boat appears, trundling along, no rush, not a care in the world and the sound of the engine completely drowns out the noise from the motorway. Almost as if the world itself was trying to disconnect you from the rush, rush, rush of life and remind you to take it easy. And the name of the boat; Pandora. "all gifted," "a gift to all." Brilliant!
Hey, nice project but just an FYI there's a good few nasties in old paint, a mask should be warn at all times when paint stripping.
There's nasties in new paint mate !
I used to climb in old dusty ductwork as a kid and go home like a chimney boy 😂

Agreed, there could be lead in the paint of some of the older boats. I wish I’d worn a mask more often when I was younger and working in unknown environments. Good show though, nice to see our ladies getting on with life in their own way at their own pace. Fab 🤙🏼
May, when using any kind of rotary tool please pull all your hair back into to a tight pony tail. Your hair is long enough to get caught up in your drill and you WILL NOT be able to react fast enough to avoid injury. One odd movement of the head or gust of wind could be painful. After 55 years as a professional wood worker I still ask myself "How can this tool doing this job hurt me?" And I still have 10 fingers and 2 eyes. Love the videos.

Depending on how much Gap you have between the metal and wood. You could try using the magnetic rubber seal from a refrigerator door. The Woodside representing the door.And happy birthday

@@wellbeingonwater make sure it's at a real slight angle. Not parallel. you want it to slope away. In American measurements the angle or slope would be about a 16th of an inch per foot. If it's really bad you can use a little Bondo ( body fille) and make a little lip that slopes to one side. Also did you ever readjust your fuel filter so the nut is aimed straight at the floor. If it's not straight up and down the water in the Fuel filter will cause your engine to run rough. Also with old diesel engines I recommend a hot seafoam bath. Plenty of videos on RUclips explaining it. Make a little Bondo lip above the door. So close the door draw a line with a pencil and then make a little upside down v-shaped Bondo lip from The Middle of the 2 doors .that should channel away some of the water. You can also try giving the also angle The top of the doors like a window sill

Through bitter experience,remove the flies when the paint is dry 🥴it took me a while to figure that the sealants didn’t work as well 😊so l use filler as well 👍Happy Birthday 🎁

For the waterproofing try sikaflex 221 as it's designed to create a flexible seal between metal and wood. I think the filler will just crack as the metal and wood expand at different rates with heat. Happy Birthday.
I would agree with you. Sikaflex is a professional product which is far superior to a lot of the stuff you get from the big diy stores.

Lots to that painting lark May, first finding the time, then the prep, then it rains or its to hot, when all that is right the bugs decide they like your boat, or it's flying any time just there side of the tow path you didn't notice, to mention just a few. Keep trying you get it right soon or next year sometime. Nice to see the lamp has a place in it all though.
