“They do not sleep or breathe or blink, all they do is kill.” That is such an unreasonably badass line for a squirrel with a knife. On the topic, for those who want to balance these nerds, look up the Vagabuddy on board game geek. Even if you don’t like the full faction change, it has modified versions of the tinker, harrier, scoundrel, ronin, and vagrant.
I would say my favourite surprise pick to trip up players is the Ranger. The main counterplay to a typical vagabond (beat em up, send them to forest a couple times early game) doesnt function against the ranger because of their ability. Instead the way to do it is by depriving them of tea and extra swords, which works against all the vagabonds but its generally the second thing people try, and by the time they think of plan B your plan A is already unstoppable
Greatly appreciate the value given to the tea item, it really makes the difference in the mid-late game i feel! How do you feel about the coins though? Is the item only useful if you want to aid or if you have a hammer?
Like any additional card draw, its much bigger the earlier you have it. Drawing key craftables is the major appeal, but aiding is the less RNG-reliant use for them
I do love playing Ranger, but that's because my friendly neighborhood table is very crafting-happy (so I can reliably get tea) and they are kinda spotty with policing me if I only bully one player for most of the game.
Pretty much, yeah. The strength of infamy scoring is significant enough that even the worst VBs still have a really strong fallback option that they can almost never get locked out of.
Why is the Ronin's ability situational? I don't have a lot of experience with vagabonds yet, but doing an extra hit without the risk of getting hurt seems nice
Mostly because you csn just deal more damage with that sword by starting another battle, which would equate to more points. The risk reduction's nice, but rarely more valuable than the points.
@@Nevakanezah_ Okay, thanks! I also just want to say that I absolutely love your videos, and definitely look forward to any guide/playthrough/etc. you (hopefully) plan on making! :)
@@davidwoek3041 It's not about points. The ability makes attacking the ronin more costly, and since beating up vagabonds early to slow them down is a common tactic, it helps defend against that. Unfortunately you can just pick Ranger and do that better, but hey.
I think the Vagrant is really good, but can be theoretically just bullied out of the game early if he doesn't find a sword quickly or maybe draw several ambush cards.
Choosing one of the S-Tier Vagabonds is the equivalent of choosing Oddjob in Goldeneye 64. You will be judged harshly

I have to give some credit to the phyrexian hulk card from MTG
@@Nevakanezah_ phyrexian revoker more badass
As someone who’s not allowed to play the Harrier anymore, I approve this vagabond message

The Tinker and Vagrant are my personal favs to play as!
I have a question: Because the lowest tier selected was C tier, does that mean that at worst the Vagabond is still OK?

Pog video, however the arbiter is still too low 🦡🦡🦡🦡🦡🗡🗡
I think that with despot infamy this is the right place for arbiter. With regular infamy though, definitely at least an A
