These tutorials are a life saver. I'm currently running into trouble with forestpack though. The problem is that I have an area spline that I want my objects inside, but instead it's placing my objects on the spline instead. Using a distribution image, not a path, so this shouldn't be happening. Any tips?

Make sure that your spline is completely closed (or in other words, all vertices of the spline are welded). An easy way to check this is to add an Edit Poly modifier to the spline. If you don't see a polygon surface created, then your spline is open and you need to make sure it's closed.

When you creat a new forest pack object by picking the surface of the scene what do you select in forest pack?

The plants and grass, are they native in Forest Pack Pro - how did you strip them out so they were separate objects?

sadly the exlude object is not working AT ALL for me... Any ideas what that could be among the most common issues ?

Please try disabling the instancing engine in the RailClone object (Display rollout). This used to happen automatically, but it may have changed if you are using a recent version of Forest Pack

@@itoosoft Thanks for the quick answer, I had a go with this solution but althought it does change something in the scattering it doesn't solve the problem as I still have grass tuft popping under my pavement. I had a go with generating the pavement with forest and I have the same problem. I'm lost here...
(I use max 2021, vray 5 and FP 7. Rail clone is only the free version availiable on your website).

@@theaaadddiii I might be easier if you email us at helpdesk@itoosoft.com. If you can include the scene file that'll really help us to pinpoint how we can help. Cheer!

Alright, for anyone having problems in the future I'm updating here : after looking at every possible causes I think I found the origin of my problem : seems like it was the fact that the surface I was trying to apply the forest to was a linked geometry with a UVW map modifier applyed to it. Don't know which one is problematic but after converting it into an editable mesh everything went into order. In a lesser way, the geometry you are building you rail clone might matter too, at the beggining I was using an imported .obj from rhino (being more comfortable to model on it), then I changed for a paver I modeled in MAX as had slighly better results with same parameters.
Also I can tell after trying many things that you should really pay attention to the scale and shape of the plants you put in there. Mind that in the video they are really tiny, probably not even accurate to reality.

Stunning tutorial! Can u please share the paver model?
