😊Thanks Mike! Please let Mike talk to us more, maybe about the British culture, what to do and eat in festivals, or tips for HK people to get along with locals
Down the rabbit hole refers to Alice in Wonderland, Alice goes down a rabbit hole into a fantasy (crazy) world. So when someone says going down the rabbit hole, it means the situation they are in or about to get into is getting crazier and crazier by the minute, or that the situation is getting weird.
Thanks for bringing up Cockney rhyming slang. I used to have a Walsh friend introduced it to me, and he told me it’s developed for military use, so that others won’t know what they really meant. Not sure if it is true though. But it surely is much fun hearing them🤣
"interesting" can be a negative or positive expression based on the context and the particular tone. It has nothing to do with geographic differences. "Oh, that's interestingggg" with enthusiastic tone VS "hmmm interesting" with a low-mono tone
Thks for the explanation. I would like to know for the slang you mentioned, if it appeared in written format, would it have a different meaning compared to in a conversation
Cat Stevens' song Moon Shadow came to mind when you chaps were talking about the phrase "north and south". Here's how it goes: And if I ever lose my mouth All my teeth, north and south Yes, if I ever lose my mouth Oh, if, I won't have to talk Cheers! 😉
One suggestion: when you interview someone (like your dad), try not to respond ‘yes’, ‘Ah’, ‘right’ etc while your interviewee is talking as it’s very difficult to hear what they’re saying if you’re talking over them.
You can't have the cake and eat it (唔可以兩者兼得) Between the devil and the deep blue sea (橫死掂死) Open you north and south 🤣🤣🤣笑屎我 (laughing the shit out of me!)
謝謝Stevo爸爸、Stevo和Faye❤

希望STEVO爸爸久不久都出下鏡,好有趣呀 😍
Mike, thank you indeed for your enlightenment !
去英國之前英文一直都不是太好,反而在英國一段時間學到好多本地人會講的字眼/句子,最實用一定係"Pop to the loo" 同本地女仔去飲野約會,要優雅地去廁所😂😂
Stevo 爸爸好可愛❤加埋佢一齊拍片,好fun, 多謝佢教學😍
Love the video with Mike !
He is more relax and enjoy the camera then before 👍🏻👍🏻
Look forward for his next one !
😊Thanks Mike! Please let Mike talk to us more, maybe about the British culture, what to do and eat in festivals, or tips for HK people to get along with locals
I couldn't agree any more. 😀
😄Thanks you all especially Stevo's father, teaching us English idioms and slangs

I am a Hongkonger living in the United States and your videos are very interesting!

Thanks for clearing that one up!
Father is so lovely! very interesting idioms
多謝Stevo 爸爸,多謝 Stevo Faye👍👍👍

很久沒見Stevo爸爸了!精神不錯!Mike,你好!

Very useful and helpful to improve our oral English language, thanks!
Good learning...especially "Open your north and south" --
I believe Cockney rhyming slang was so popular because of the BBC soap opera “EastEnders”. 😄
今集好玩到不得了, 多謝主持
I love this series. Possible to take more? :)
到左英國兩星期,我本身英文好差,而家要努力學,我覺得最難係聽英文而唔係講,我都係到左英國先睇你地channel,好開心好有趣呀
I generally use Interesting to imply my disagreement in a nice way

Thank you Steve Dad to be our english teacher😍
Between the devil and the deep blue sea應該係<橫又死,掂又死>
“You can't have your cake and eat it” 應該同 「魚與熊掌不可兼得 」 差唔多意思 😂
或者係針無兩頭利。
@@candylam3074 又要馬兒好又要馬兒不吃草
Why not eating the cake😂
會唔會即係,得上床牽冚被
仲有句類似:
A door must be either shut or open
非常好,學到野,又好玩,唔好比佢停呀!下面再有中英文解釋,訧更好。謝謝
You made me laugh when you said the last one! Thanks for this amusing video
有趣。就算返學都未必有得學到。謝謝。
You always have those oriental Fortz
Thks for the explanation. I would like to know for the slang you mentioned, if it appeared in written format, would it have a different meaning compared to in a conversation
多謝Stevo 爸! 想問吓Stevo 有冇兄弟姊妹?可以請埋佢哋出鏡頭,睇吓邊個廣東話勁啲。
the phrase "go down the rabbit hole" comes from the English novel 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'
請問"Not treading on your toes" 可以譯為 "阻住地球轉" 嗎?
🥰好喜歡呢段片呀!! 一來有地道Stevo 爸爸用英文講下英國文化, 二來都有你地解釋很清楚!! 希望可以發多D 呢類片!!
好有趣,尤其是Dig in the grave, go apples and pears…
I love this one❤

You can't have your cake and eat it = 魚與熊掌不能兩者兼得。英國人用蛋糕,中國人用魚與熊掌,不過都係食得嘅野😂

Cockney rhyming slang 好似係咪Mary Poppins 個套戲有一段唱戲咁,有啲似廣東話個啲押韻打油詩😂
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏thank you for the lesson.
Then how to say I truly want to keep in touch and it's really interesting 🤣 cuz I always use them🙈
