    Do you think that the story of Storm's Keeps is a homage to Monty Python's swamp castle?
    When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest castle in all of England.

    My current favourite tinfoil is that Arianne going to meet FAegon is not about offering herself in marriage for an alliance. She's actually going to be offering Myrcella in marriage.
    A Targ-Martel alliance might be god but what better way to secure the throne of the entire country than to have both a Targ and a Baratheon. The last heir of the Targ united with the last heir of Baratheon (Tomlin will have to die for FAegon to be crowned anyway)
    Linked to this is Cersei's vision. She is told her three children will have three golden crowns. What if this isn't just about hair colour, what if it's actual literal crowns?
    Arianna has made it clear that she wants Dorne, half her story is her fighting to be the seen as the heir. Dorne raises independent minded women, I can't imagine her suddenly being all "oh FAegon dear" just because daddy says so.

    Hi, Robert! Thank you for all your hard work on this channel. I love these live streams, the discussions and questions that come up make me consider things I've never noticed.
    Regarding the Beric question and how he was resurrected since only life can pay for life: I'm currently re-reading the series and when Beric tells Arya about coming back from death he mentions that Amory Lorch lured him by holding some beekeepers (or something) hostage. When he shows up to save them, Amory hangs them all anyway with Beric in the middle. When I read this I thought, that's interesting, it's as if Amory made the sacrifice to bring Beric back.
    Also, regarding Lyanna, it never explicitly states when Jon was born. I've always considered the idea that Lyanna was in labor, a dangerous mortal labor, when Ned arrives. Perhaps Lyanna was in a bed of blood because she was losing the baby. They may have had to cut the baby out, and perhaps Arthur Dayne helped with that with the sword Dawn. "Born under a bleeding star" could relate to that circumstance. And it would give more weight to why Arthur felt honor bound to die by honorable suicide, because he had to essentially kill Lyanna.
    Just my thoughts, I can't wait to find out more about this story in The Winds of Winter. Thank you so much for all your content in the meantime!

    Tyrion finds Tysha.
    After recruiting all the Dothraki Dany ends up needing more boats, even the Greyjoy fleet isn't enough.
    Where's the best place to get more ships? Braavos, the place that builds a ship a day (Chekov's boatyard) and the place that is an obvious ally to chain breaker Dany.
    So, while the Dothraki are travelling across Essos by land to get to a western port, Dany sends people (including Tryion) to Braavos to pick up more ships.
    While in Braavos Tyrion indulges in his usual whoring, and meets the Sailor's Wife who turns out to be Tysha.

      If that's the case I think she'll blame him for the rapes and cast him away, and he'll become more cruel than his father. Tywin and Joanna were apparently very in love while she was alive, it would be interesting to have a mirror of that with Tyrion's love life.

  • @carlrood4457
    @carlrood4457 3 года назад +18

    I don't know what, but there has to be more than Ned's pain as to why he wouldn't let the families of his bannermen know where they're buried. Either there's something at the site he couldn't remove or destroy that gives away everything or something was done to the bodies that he doesn't want them to see (most likely the bodies were destroyed for some reason and there are no bones).

    • @Baalslegion07
      @Baalslegion07 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I find it very weird too. It is quite strange that he wouldn't just bring them with him, it wouldn't be that hard. And even if he couldn't the firdt time, what's stopping him from going back and exhuming them and then bringing them back to their families. It does feel weird that he wouldn't.
      Also, why not tell them later on? If the tower is torn down, their corpses mostly rotten and the secret preserved, then why not tell them?
      My theory is, that he maybe just couldn't do so, because they aren't dead. Maybe Lyanna didn't die and just didn't want to marry Robert after Ned told her Rhaegar died. So they are still there and still protect her. Maybe thats why Ned was ready to tell Jon about her when he was at the wall.
      But I must say its quite silly and improbable. Most likely thisnis just one more of those "Ned is kinda stupid"-moments. Say what you will about Neds sense of honornor his political naivité, he sometimes is just pretty dumb in some regards. Sansa and Joffrey, Littlefinger, Cersei, Jaime and many more. He sometimes is just fundamentally wrong about things and could easily find out that he is, but doesn't out of stubborness or misplaced loyalty. Why protect Cersei and her children? Sure, Tommen and Myrcella are okay, but you can easily protect them. Joffrey is a problem and Cersei too. There is nothing honorable in letting someone steal the throne. Why trust a guy you 100% know has the hots for your wife? Ned is an idiot at times and does stupid things out of stupid reasons.
      But I sure would like a logical explanation for it.

    My thoughts on Bloodraven and his feelings about the Blackfire dynasty is that he says he had a brother than he loved and a brother that he hated, it seems clear that Bittersteel is the brother that he hated due to their family's feuds and their mutual desire for Shiera. But I like to think the brother that he loved isn't King Daeron but Daemon Blackfire, who it's said had a great charisma and perhaps would have been a natural friend to Brynden might have looked up to as his elder also bastard born brother who had risen quite high despite his birth. Leading to Bloodraven only reluctantly, tragically killing him and his sons from a sense of duty rather than out of malice.

    • @kyidyl
      @kyidyl 3 года назад +7

      @@AltSchwiftSiberia really? Heh I thought it was common or I would write it up somewhere. I don't think she has dysentery or the pale mare. Just the juniper berries. Bc in the passage she's actually just showing signs of exhaustion and mild early pregnancy symptoms - until she finds the berries and eats them. She says to herself that she thinks they're safe bc she has tasted them before in food. Well, irl juniper berries are used as a spice. In small amounts and cooked they're safe. Raw and eaten by the handful they absolutely will make you barf your guts up. They'll make you super sick. And the kicker is that they carry a miscarriage risk and - according to a naturopath Dr friend of mine - were used in old school abortion concoctions bc of it. So yeah I'm pretty sure Dany ate handfuls of juniper berries (the description of them matches, too.) and made herself sick and then caused an accidental miscarriage. :D

    NED IS ALIVE!
    I wish I had been able to watch live because I have a favorite tin foil theory, from way back when I was still active on the ASOIAF message board. I had a hand in flushing it out a lot further then also, though it wasn’t my original theory. I love the theory that Ned is alive still.
    Varys smuggled him out of the Black Cells.
    1. Varys has that ability and a tract record of doing it.
    2. Arya didn’t recognize Ned. There is only so much mummers makeup can do, even on a, likely, very thin and pale “Ned”
    Varys hides him in the Golden Company
    1. Varys way of controlling Ned and stopping him from rushing back to aid his family. Assuming Ned gets any news of what’s going on.
    2. Ned would be a great ally to rally the North to fake Aegon.
    3. There are unaccounted for ships when the Golden Company lands in the Storm Lands.
    Those are the key arguments. I know it’s tin foil, but I do love it so.

      Robert was long dead by time Qyburn arrived in the King's Landing. Keeping a head preserved for any amount of time, but remember that summer was particularly muggy in the Crownlands and I doubt Cersei has access to a refrigerator. The most likely scenario is she had a dwarf beheaded and sent that dwarf's skull to the Dornish.

      @@glitchgoblin1338 Yeah, no mini-fridge. Lol. They had the Dwarf head from when they were looking for Tyrion after the murder of the King and they were rounding them all up for a reward. Not sure the shelf life of a dead head to be reanimated. It was just weird that all the effort to conceal the face and the voice was made. And it would have been a vindictive, nasty Cerci-like thing to do to Robert B. It just seems there was a underlying reason.

      @@carthaginean it's actually the head of the Pious dwarf who Brienne hung out with for a few. If I recall correctly, someone presented a dwarf's head to Cersei and she noted it had a bulbous nose, the key psychical feature of the Pious dwarf, while Tyrion didn't have a nose anymore by that point in the story.

    37:50 - what if "Giants" isn't literal? What if it's "Giants of Their Life", ie. the best each generation has to offer and that's why Starks keep each ruler neetly in storage. Cause the horn is to raise the dead from the graves to fight the other dead raising force. It's great tactic, cause they wouldn't be able to be controllwd by enemy, would already be dead and not require nearly any upkeep and would have a lot of experience and knowledge from their long lifes.

  • @Levacque
    @Levacque 2 года назад +2

    @7:50 Regarding the Hammer of the Waters and the Bering Strait, we have to imagine an ice age so progressed that the glaciers are lowering sea levels. This exposes a marshy, rocky, and fairly barren land bridge that still allows passage for people and animals to migrate. And perhaps the spell itself of the Hammer is a huge rainstorm on the scale of a hurricane, and thats's what tore apart the silty land between the rocky Stepstones, then later flooded the Neck.
    @47:20 I think that Cersei is already pregnant. Whichever Kettleblack it is she was messing around with got ger with child, and there's some circumstantial evidence of this such as her having trouble fitting into her corset and bodice about two months after the affair starts. She could just be mirroring Robert's descent into decadence, though, which is satisfying from a literary perspective. This is a tinfoil thread after all, so I really do believe that she's pregnant and the excessive drinking and eating is a literary red herring for us to blame her thick waist on.

    My tinfoil theories:
    The planet where Westeros and Essos exists was a lost Earth colony from 100s of thousands of years ago. All the fantastical creatures (dragons) are the results of genetic engineering of Earth humans. All this was forgotten because the colony was lost (external reasons). At some point, humans from the descendants Earth will return but will be even more advanced and evolved.
    * The Sword of the Morning is from debris from Earth human technology that eventually fell from orbit.
    Despite what I wrote about genetic engineering, the Children of the Forest, the Giants, and the Weirwood trees are indigenous.
    If you keep going North you will eventually end up in what is considered the Eastern most part of Essos.
    Tyrion is a Targaryen and Tywin is not his blood father.
    Note: I will not claim that I thought them up.
    Not a theory but I have wondered what an army of humans converted like Gregor Clegane would do against the White Walkers and their army of the undead. Twisted science against magic.

    There's also the Robb died twice theory which implies he was able to warg. Given Robert's theory on how Jon will come back, it can almost be confirmed as foreshadowing given what each one's last word was. Also, the way Robb's body was displayed is another clue. There's probably no way it can be confirmed except by Word of God, but it seems like that one's true. So, not Baelish is not Robb's dad.

    Tyrion is the bastard child of the Mad king and Tywins wife.
    1. Tyrions mum died in childbirth because she wasn't a Targaryen.
    2. cersei says he has a tail to Oberyn, and GRRM loves a hint and twist. I also believe 1 of Danny's dragons will be ridden by him.
    3. He designs a saddle so Bran can ride a horse, I believe he will use these plans to build a saddle for a dragon

    Hey Robert, you say the pink letter was almost certainly written to goad Jon into attacking, but isn't that based on the assumption that the writer of the letter knows Jon's character and personality already? If it really were written by Ramsay, the purpose could simply have been to scare Jon into submission. Ramsay never met Jon, after all, and in Ramsay's personal experience, people will do everything you want if you just scare them enough. He wouldn't have known Jon would react this way.
    And of course, the fact that Mance is mentioned so often in the letter could just be because Ramsay just captured Mance, and that's what brought Ramsay's attention to Jon and the Wall in the first place. So it would make sense that Mance is on Ramsay's mind while writing the letter, Mance's presence in Winterfell is literally the proof of Jon's treachery, and the only justification he has for threatening the Night's Watch like that.

    What if when a mother dies, their focus on the hope of their child to be strong and live a good life counts as a sort of blessing intention that some magic speaks the blood of the mother.

    Yiti ice/others legend
    Woods walkers / children of the forest
    The others were not created by the children (or were) before the continents were broken apart but they poisoned (or used they’re own magic to turn) the weir wood trees for themselves
    And the children broke the continents apart to save the rest of the weir woods
    Would explain that there are woods walkers (the children of the forest) in essos and also possibly a connection with the undead/undying ones Dani saw in the house of the undying

    About evolution in ASOIAF - I once saw a theory about the squishers (fish people with legs that go to the shores to rape woman specifically for reproductive purposes) and sounded like a evolutionary missing link.
    Also water is the product of the extremes, ice + fire, so it fit thematically.
    Preston Jacobs also did a weird comparison of squishers x white walkers, since both have goals on babies of foreign origins. PJ believes that WW can reproduce but are on decreased fertility due to imbreeding, wich is a recurring theme on the series. So there are several cultures in ASOIAF actively hunting women & babies of other origins to fix their declining clans (like the wildlings do). Humans could be an mix of several creatures.

Ready for bran to reconnect at will via long distance warging. Jon and the 13 need to go north suicide squad style to kill hodor and close the weirwood net to humans and restore equilibrium.
