It took a while to watch this interview per the from a distance respect I had for what Mr. Malone and his friends/team/players built via DC Assault. It seems Mr. Malone has acknowledged his shortcoming, and has moved forward in a positive manner and serves as a cautionary story for the youth - great interview.
Great interview. I met Curt Malone at Takoma Park Rec on New Hampshire Ave in ‘98-‘99. Their gym was making BIG noise back then. You could go there and see the Wizards during the lockout. I think that was Steve Francis home court. I saw Stevie Blake, Juan Dixon and the whole Maryland squad working out in there. Keith Bogans, DJ, Joseph Forte, G-Jones, Miskiri. Frank “Machine” McQueen. Errybody was up there. I saw Elton Brand cooking Lonny Baxter in that little gym. Big John Thompson was there watching the games one night. I’m glad Curt mentioned Keith Williams from Crossland. He was TOUGH!!! Great interview!!
I loved this history of basketball talk and just life in general. Although I’m from Camden just hearing the names of many greats I heard of that made it to the league and even the lesser known great players was great. I’m like a kid in the candy store. Curtbone you’re one of the real official people I can sit and listen to a interview in its entirety. I respect Mr. Malone outlook on ranking kids so young because it can ruin many kids being 9-10 years old in 4th grade. Keep up the great work Curtbone! We love you Brutha 💯
My cousin, Melo Trimble played for Curtis. Ive known Curtis since Kenmore Middle. I boxed at Palmer Park and we talked about doing a D.C. Assualt Boxing Team back then.
I went to Cardozo with Sheik, Eric Branham, and a few others. Their whole crew was ballers. Either basketball or football. Them boys had it. I was surprised most of them didn’t make it to the league. The only one out of their crew that I know of that made it to the league was Ikey. He made it to the NFL. Even played QB for the Redskins for a little while. He was the starting QB up Cardozo when I was there.
Hotep my bro.c.b. I been listening to your show since you came out. You been bringing the 🔥 since you came out. I was listening to the show tonight which was great. I heard the bro. You had on speak before in I can tell he no the game as well as your self.and I heard his story before as well as yours. Keep the good content comeing. Johnny O from Harlem.
This is fascinating. For a DC area basketball head, this is pure gold. Great interview !! Any chance for a round 2 interview now? Curtis is extremely riveting to listen to.
I might have to consider that. Thanks for checking us out. Please subscribe and share. Few other basketball conversation you might enjoy on here as well ( Sam Cassell, Caron Butler, USC Gary Johnson, Sherman Douglas, .…)
Man DC is the truth, Curt Smith played a year at Compton College, Is Xree Hipp from D.C. and that Maryland team with Joe Smith..I went to Private school with a Great point Gaurds from D.C. name Jamari Francis ,Glen White and Hakeem the dream..
Troy Weaver ( Piston GM) got Melo up there. I think Dave Bing played a role in hipping them to sherman and i’m not sure about Moten i think they just recruited him. Moten was a dog on football field. he could have played both (Receiver)
@@curtbonetv oh ok, I didn't know Lawrence Moten played that football.. Thank you for the history CurtBone.. Hey did you ever see Caleb Williams play football at Gonzaga? CURTBONE, how did Sherman Douglas and Lawrence Moten and Carmelo end up at Syracuse, lol Big John would've won two more rings with that D.C. talent

What to Thomas Robinson he played for Kansas
He had a short stint in the NBA. Played for Portland, and Sacramento… maybe a couple more teams. He just never worked out in the pros. Don’t know why.
@@ahmadwhitaker5113 that right, he had that motor like Dennis Rodman
deon Saunders big bro
willie smith
David hawkins
Brian chase
Trey Kelly
That boy Will Smith was a BEAST! Always had a highlight on DC28 back in the day.
Demarcus "Chop Chop" Corley came up through that gym also.
Mayweather demolished Chop Chop- LOL.
