Love the Arc Angels, one of the few bands worth following in the 90's. The music industry has turned to crap. Radio stations are horrible. The world is upside down. Thank you all the musicians who worked hard writing songs and working in the studio to lay down tracks that we could listen to many years after. They are like time capsules.
Tube Amps and Texas Blues! Ya got THAT right! Met these guys our back of The Bomb Factory in Deep Ellum one night on their way to their bus. They ALL stopped and signed my CD cover. Great dudes and I saw one of the greatest shows I've ever seen that night.
Yall know Doyle plays rythm and some lead with Eric Clapton? I knew who he was 1st time and was thrilled. Also, a bit more trivia: Charlie Sexton was playing in the movie Thelma and Louise at the bar at the beginning!
Are you talking about DBII or Sexton? You'd be close for both in either case. Sexton uses a Rx Electronics Experience fuzz pedal, which is essentially a Foxx Tone Machine clone with a built in volume swell circuit. DBII is using a Rx Electronics C.O.B. (Clean Octave Blend) in this recording which is essentially the octave circuit out of a Foxx Tone Machine with added controls for the octave volume as well as a mix control to blend in the octave sounds. It's mostly lost in the mix, but you can hear that feint octave up sound on his solos. He's also using a very early Fulltone Deja Vibe, the first version ever built of the pedal actually, to get that psychedelic pulsating sound.
It's pretty cool actually, when Sexton plays his little solo after DBII finishes his second solo, you can hear him using the swell circuit on the Rx Electronics Experience pedal. Its not perfect, but the swell circuit is designed so that each note that's played starts with no volume and swells up to full volume. You can hear that happening to his guitar volume as he plays! It's a really unique effect. Actually, it's the only fuzz pedal I can think of that produces this effect that isn't a clone of this circuit!
I purchased the arc angels release when it came out and this song was definitely not on there so I will be purchasing this awesome DVD if I can find it
