This is great! Can you add the links of the harness' that you used? I'm about to do the same on my '66

Those frame clips are available through CJ Pony Parts. The short wire on the rear harness that wasn't hooked up probably is for the license plate light. I've just gone through the same with my 66 F100. I had the same situation from a previous owner butchering up the wiring. It was a mess!

Thank you for letting me know where to get those clips. I honestly don't want to fight those things right now, but I will at some point.

I wanted to say thank you very much for making this video. I purchased a 1966 F-100 that had an engine fire. All of the wiring was toast. I've had t replace anything electrical under the hood. You're video allowed me to do it as you did it. I got a little confused with the alternator because my wiring harness was a little different than yours even though I think they were both purchased at Dennis Carpenter. The wiring under the dash was fired as well. Instead of upgrading, I found a good used one for now. If I run into any wiring issues, can I send question via email? Looking forward to your under the dash video.

You are welcome. We started making the videos as way to document our work and capture the memories, but I'm very glad to hear they are helping others as well. I honestly don't remember if I got the alternator harness from Dennis Carpenter, LMC Truck, or National Parts Depot. I have gotten wiring harnesses from all of them to complete most of the rewiring. I'm no expert on electrical by any means, but I can do my best to answer any questions. C3KPaddock@gmail.com

As for the under dash harness, I couldn't find a new one at the normal parts places. They just don't have the 1965/66 one and they are different than the earlier or later ones. I did find a place that has replacement OEM style harnesses for the 1965/66 F100's ( Bauer Electronics / www.bauerelectronicsinc.com ). I put one on order and should have it in approximately 6 weeks. I will definitely have a video on it when it arrives.

Oh...yes either the alternator is bad or there is a bad ground. I also had that problem. Believe it or not, once I repaired the short ground wires on the front turn signal/park lights, my alternator light would go out like it should after starting.

I finally figured out what was keeping it from charging and it charges now, but it isn't fixed correctly yet. Stay tuned to the next video because it isn't what you would think. I was trouble shooting for days. The things people do instead of doing it right the first time, I tell you what!

@@C3KPaddock Happy Thanksgiving! When I got my 66, I found a faded old photocopy of a wiring schematic in the glove box. Uh oh...red flag.

Don't think that's the factory location for regulator

There should be nothing on the side of solenoid that goes to starter other the starter battery cable

That's what I thought. Whoever was working on the truck before had things hooked up wrong and made me second guess myself.
