Something that I feel doesn't get properly addressed in articles and videos about "how to do more with your money" and "how to stop living paycheck-to-paycheck" is that a great many Americans, in particular Millennials and those in Gen Z who've already entered the workforce, don't earn enough money to *feed themselves* consistently. The average college degree comes with almost forty thousand dollars of debt and no promise of a decent-paying job. They aren't taking long unpaid vacations, they're begging their manager to schedule them more hours of work so they can afford their rent. They aren't splurging on $500 shoes, they're agonizing over making $5 of food last until their next paycheck. Can someone really be expected to open a savings account when they regularly need to decide between paying their phone bill or their water bill because they don't have enough money to do both? When they don't turn their heater on in sub-zero temperatures because their electricity bill is already too high? When they share a run-down one-bedroom apartment with three other people because none of them can afford it individually and can only barely afford it together?

1:30 Make a decision to have a better relationship with money. (remember Peak Potential - what was your decision after RD!) Your future self will be no different or no better than your are today > unless you change TODAY.
2:00 Understand what money is and what is not. 2:10 IDENTIFY then trite down you WHY!
2:33 Vision boards are very useful. This will assist you to align your behaviors with your goals.
3:06 It is not about what you make it is about what you keep. ** pay yourself first** Remember your FFA account and the 1 USD per day! this is about discipline and not about the actual dollar amount.
You can start slow and you can start small BUT you must START NOW - TODAY.
3:50 Control impulse spending > implement the 24 hour rule. You will be surprised at the results. Are the doda's on your vision board Yes or No. Make a decision. START TODAY.

Imagine thinking people can afford savings accounts. We live paycheck to paycheck and no saving will stop that. The way to improve our relationships with money is to make more of it, spend less of it, and eat the rich.

Her heart's in the right place but she skipped the most important first step: Budget out what you're spending and what your making on the monthly, and see what steps you need to take to make sure if you're in the black. If you're living in a situation that isn't sustainable, then knuckle down and do some research to find out where you can cut costs and live cheaper. Judging by some of the other comments I've read, that might mean taking drastic steps like moving to a more affordable area or completely switching up job industries.
For instance in my current situation I'm on a work holiday visa, hopping between hostels in a completely different country because it's cheaper than the state I'm from.

Shawn Wolfenbarker It can’t buy it buys a lot of things that contribute to happiness...like security. And even if it doesn’t buy happiness, the lack of money is a huge stressor on individuals and relationships.

@@mschrisfrank2420 Security and safty is an illusion . True you can buy things that help your life but all in all money isnt needed AT ALL. You only think it is because most people have been dupped by the system into believing they need flashy things . You dont have to like my opinion . I am who I am your approval isnt needed.

When you're poor, having shelter and food for your family is great happiness. There is a positive correlation between happiness and money until about 100k (plus or minus depending on location and other economic factors). After basic needs and security, money can't buy happiness.

I know this comment is from a year ago and I definitely feel the same; but also i'm realising this belief is one of the reasons I subconsciously repel money from me. if i think money is evil then of course my patterns of behaviour will push it away from me. but there are so many good things we can do with that money. it's hard to change our lives let alone the world if we don't have access go money resources... and the people who are genuinely evil (most governments and corporate bosses) have no such repulsion...

@@baileyburns6226 I would like to point out for accuracy's sake that Sanders' tax plan lowers or maintains current tax rates on the lower, middle, *and* upper classes. It only raises taxes on corporations and the ultra rich, who have largely managed to avoid paying any significant taxes in the last several decades. Will he be able to follow through with it if elected? I don't know. Campaign promises don't have the best record at being kept.
