Being German, they initially had a hard time with a couple of the words, especially making the ‘r’ sounds in some words. Other Songs of theirs I’d consider: No One Like You, The Zoo, Winds of Change, Still loving you.
I would assume that singing Rock music in a second language, at those pitches, would make it more difficult. My mother in-law is from Coburg, Germany, and even after 40+ yrs here, she still sometimes has difficulty.
@@chriswildhaber35 While I do love the Scorpions, they are not my favorite band. However, I agree with you that "Still Loving You" is the greatest ballad of all time.
Scorpions: When The Smoke Is Going Down Scorpions: Always Somewhere Scorpions: Holiday Twisted Sister: I Believe In You Twisted Sister: The Price Manowar: Mountain
@@muppdog390 It's alright, son. As long as they are touring worldwide and bringing in the tens of thousands, they can go as long as Klaus' voice holds out. Yes this will probably be their last tour, but we will rawk to it until they call it quits. BTW they are dropping a new album this year, produced by Greg Fidelman of Metallica fame. So Klaus may not have the chops anymore, but he's still a multi-millionaire. AND still rawkin our socks off! 🤣
Check out also Always Somewhere, Still Loving You, When The Smoke Is Going Down, Yellow Raven, In Trance, Fly People Fly, Life’s Like A River or In Your Park. Golden ballads by Scorpions!
I was blessed to see the Scorpions & Ozzy back in 84'. You should check out "Still loving you", "No one like you", "The Zoo" and many more Scorpion songs. I'm patiently hoping that you'll do a reaction to the band Molly Hatchet, check out their songs "Dream I'll never see", "Fall of the Peacemakers", "Flirting with Disaster", Bounty Hunter and lots more!! Please check them out and keep on rockin'!!!!
Met them in the phoenix airport i saw them in el paso a few days earlier They signed my shirt. And checked out the boom box .i put thier tape in and cranked it as we went on our way. They were nice. And the concert was great
The Scorpions were one of the best metal bands of the era. I like their older stuff also (if you could call it that in this day and age). In Trance and Always Somewhere were fantastic!
I heard this song for the first time when I was 12. My grandma gave me a heavy metal compilation cassette for my birthday. It paved the way for me to be a life long metal head. Thanks Grandma!!
I a m 70 now and when I show my grandchildren songs like this and tell them this is they kind of music me and gram listened to when we were young, they find it hard to believe.
This is one of the first heavy metal songs I ever heard - might even have been the very first! Is anyone here old enough to remember NBC's Friday Night Videos show waaaaay back in the day?
Yeah cuz I didn't have cable so no MTV. There was also some local channel that did call-in requests via touch-tone mostly on the weekends but I forget what it was called (Chicago UHF market). Like "Video Choice Live" or something...
Although some music videos from this mtv era were exceptional and added to the understanding of the song, I agree with Lex, this 1 was a bit dramatic and distracting. A memorable time, waiting for your favorite bands new video to come out, when mtv lived up to its name.
They actually have a song about having a blackout. Oh course that’s the name of the song. Give it a listen, this was kind of what the 80s was for lots of people. Waking up wondering where you are etc…🤘
Scorpions were one of my favorite bands of the eighties, they have a different sound and style to them. Wind of Change is a very nice song by them that came out soon after the fall of the Soviet Union and the Berlin wall.
The Scorpions (do they have real scorpions in Germany?) were one of the pioneers of metal, hard rock, arena rock & power ballads. People think they are just an 80s band. But no, they had albums in the 70s, for sure. I'm from Ontario Canada and the Scorpions are my favourite band!
They have a lot of good songs for future reactions, no one like you, blackout, dynamite, the zoo, wind of change, still loving you, always somewhere, in trance (guitar solos for Lex on this one), and so many more songs...
This song takes me back to my high school days and jamming out in the field house after football practice.. we had a coach that loved the Scorpions. This song has nothing to do with a big cat but everything to do with a “CAT”.
I saw these guys for the first time in 84' on this very tour... Incredible show! I was 13 and this was my first real concert... hell of a start! ... can't say much for the video though.
You guys playing all this classic rock puts me back in the Bronx hanging out on the ramp drinking some ice cold Budweiser’s. GOOD STUFF FROM JOEY FROM THE BRONX
The Scorpions still kicks ass to this day. Take it from a proud early 80s baby (born Dec '82). I still remember as a year old my late friend Kenny Haughie was listening to the album and even had that T-shirt. Real music is worth appreciating for those who weren't alive in the 80s & 90s.
The Scorpions came from West Germany... originally a rock n roll local cover band in the 1960's. Around 1971, guitarist Rudolf Schenker added singer Klaus Meine and his brother Michael Schenker on lead guitar... they started writing original songs in English. In '73, Michael Schenker left to join the UK band U.F.O. and became a star there. Rudolf & Klaus reformed the Scorpions in '74 w/ new members and kept recording & touring Europe. Bassist Francis Buccholz joined in '74... drummer Herman Rarebell joined in '78... and lead guitarist Matthias Jabs joined in '79 (the same year the Scorpions first played America) Touring into 1980, the Scorpions scored their 1st gold record in the US - 'Lovedrive' and the next album 'Animal magnetizm' went platinum by '81. The Scorpions were huge global rockstars by 1984 after 2 more records 'Blackout' and 'Love at first sting' were released. In 1991, the single 'Wind of change' gave the album 'Crazy world' a huge hit ballad that marked the reunification of Germany. Despite the 90's killing the Scorpions' popularity, and both bassist Francis and drummer Herman leaving the band by 1995... Klaus, Rudolf & Matthias have kept the Scorpions rocking til today.... Other Scorpions hits - 'No one like you' ...'Make it real' ... 'Holiday'... 'Still loving you' ... 'Rhythm of love' ... 'Woman' ... 'Wild Child' ... 'Humanity' 🔥🔥🔥🤘
I never cared much for most Scorpions songs, but one I love is The Zoo. That has the bouncy, chunky beat Brad would probably like, and the guitar riffs Lex would probably love.
I could make this a book, but I will keep it short. Back in I believe 1987 or 88 they toured with Van Helen. My buddy was known for getting things if you know what I mean. Me and my buddy went to see him and this house was rocking, people everywhere. Guess who was here playing the living room. You got it, the Scorpions where there ROCKING! In fact they were playing "Rock Me Like A Hurricane" when we first arrived. CRAZY NIGHT. As we were talking to my friend in the bedroom, someone showed up and we had to get out. It was a Beautiful Blonde there to get some things for VAN HALEN. The 80's was the best time ever!
Scorpions is Classic Eighties. You got to do No one like you. Also they have some really good sounding rock songs such as Big City Nights, Blackout and melodious tunes like Holiday, Winds of Change, Send me an Angel. You got to check them out live. They rock the show 🔥🔥🔥
This is one of those classic songs that are commonly used at sporting events, with the obvious reason being the title/lyrics: "Rock You Like a Hurricane". Right up there with "We Will Rock You" by Queen, "Jump Around" by House of Pain, "Victory" by Puff Daddy & Biggie and "Rock n Roll, Part 2" by Gary Glitter.
One of the first hair bands that came out and used MTV to propel them to the tops of charts, before Motley Crue, Guns N Roses and many other hair bands that followed in the later portion of the 80's, there was Scorpions, Quiet Riot, Def Leppard, and Ratt, that dominated the Rock stages of the 80's with the fluffed up hair sprayed hair, the perms, the parachute pants and vinyl or multicolored leather & wrestler's boots. My fav Scorps song is The Zoo...followed with Black Out, Still Loving You, Holiday, Bad Boys Running Wild.... Live performances back in the 80's really catapulted bands over others, and the Scorpions could rock it live...never seen a bad live show of them, between the band and the fans, something special was always made to memory and a good time moment.
They have a German accent , and this song has been in a lot of movies . Now do Blackout , same band . It has a fast guitar in it . Trust me , you'll love it !
Klaus has always reminded me of Ronnie James Dio. Small in stature but both with such powerful vocals.
All the scorpions songs rock, my favorite band.
Me too. Always thought they were similar. In voice, stature and hair. ;)
Yep, agree with that. I've seen both live and both have/had powerful vocals.
And bad hairlines!! XD
Yes. I have seen them both in concert. Both MIND BLOWING!
With the lyric's "Cats purring, scratches my skin, give her inches and feed her well" you ask what the song is about!
Being German, they initially had a hard time with a couple of the words, especially making the ‘r’ sounds in some words. Other Songs of theirs I’d consider: No One Like You, The Zoo, Winds of Change, Still loving you.
And you can clearly hear Klaus pronounce "loud" as the German for it- "laut".
So many awesome song's, Accept is another one I love.👍
I would assume that singing Rock music in a second language, at those pitches, would make it more difficult. My mother in-law is from Coburg, Germany, and even after 40+ yrs here, she still sometimes has difficulty.
@@williamh4172 I was always wondering what he meant by ...laut...thanks
I listened to scorpions' first two albums. Man they kick so much ass! definitely need to grab those records
This is my favorite German band since I grew up with them and as you can see this is so 80s,lol.Give her inches and feed her well, self explaining 👌

the whole album!
Agreed
One the most epic guitar solos in mainstream metal at the time.
*of ALL time!
Do their song “Still Loving You”. It’s slow. But amazing vocals. And really builds. Dramatic and emotional.
YES! And they should definitely do the longer version.
Definition of a Power Ballad!!
Maybe the best rock ballad of all time. The guitar at the end is so powerful.
In my opinion the greatest ballad of all time, and I'm not just saying that, because they r my favorite band .
@@chriswildhaber35 While I do love the Scorpions, they are not my favorite band. However, I agree with you that "Still Loving You" is the greatest ballad of all time.
Scorpions: When The Smoke Is Going Down
Scorpions: Always Somewhere
Scorpions: Holiday
Twisted Sister: I Believe In You
Twisted Sister: The Price
Manowar: Mountain
the twisted songs are great and the manowar you know greatness
Saw them live three times in one year, Monsters of Rock, Arena then at a small intimate show and it was amazing.
Klaus has one of the best voices in music... Sad that this band has not be inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame..
The Rock HOF is a pathetic joke. Been that way since inception, it allows Rap & Hip Hop in it so how legitimate can anyone even take it?
surprising yes
'Used to have', you should say. Listened to some more recent live stuff? Time to stop Klaus. Shame.

Great choices!
Scorpions are a German band that sing in English, so if you watch interviews or live tracks where they speak you can hear the accents.
Same thing with bands like: Accept, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Primal Fear, Iron Savior, etc.
First 5 years of the band they sang in Duetch.
one of the BIG bands of the 80's, loved these guys
Yeah, German rock bands... You guys done Blind Guardian yet? The Bard's Song / Valhalla live at Wacken would be perfect.
I second this and than do some helloween eagle fly free
