    Watching your video and seen Criswell, I just bought a 2018 Bighon Cummins with only 13,300 miles on it two days ago. Mike Buchnan was our salesman. You all were the best experience ever buying a vehicle.

    One thing to keep in mind is that in 19 they went to a 3.73 gear and 850 torque in the standard Cummins. I owned an 18 and a 19 and I felt like the 19 was a lot more zippy and refined. Great video, thanks as always.

      @@faultless18 I have the EZLynk tuner with Motor Ops tunes (they are out of Canada). My setup has 30-60-100-150-180hp settings with the Shift on the Fly switch. I bought the 68RFE transmission tune with the package. Overall, works well for me. I keep it turned down to the 60 or 100hp tune for daily driver and 60hp tune for towing.

    • @brenteason9891
      @brenteason9891 11 месяцев назад

      @@robalexander2016 The 68RFE tuning helped quite a bit on my truck. The torque converter locks up faster and the shifting is better (less slipping). To me, the 68RFE is not the best transmission for the 2500, but not as bad as I have heard from people online.

    Nice video. The truck did great. This was a good comparison for my 2020 Duramax because I have the 10000 GVWR as well. Got similar payload specs too. My lifetime fuel economy towing my trailer is 10.8 mpg according to the computer. That includes a lot of idling too. Mine has got as high as 12.0 on a straight trip with no stopping so I’d say you are right that 13 is possible.
    Good job. Can’t wait to see some more diesel reviews. I’ll have to measure my trucks squat one day and see how it does. I never did measure it. I’d say I got as much tongue weight as you with that Honda 520 Foreman pulled in the main front of my trailer.

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  3 года назад +1

      Thanks bro! Yea your truck has the 3.42 rear but that 10 speed starts at a higher ratio which is pretty cool! What are you getting unloaded? At the time of the video I probably had about a couple hundred pounds added in the trailer so I’m assuming some of that transferred about 100 to the tongue 👍🏾

    • @matthewanderson9912
      @matthewanderson9912 3 года назад

      Mine stays in the 18s usually. I drive it everyday to work. 28 mile round trip on mostly 2 lanes with a little 4 lane. My computer last night for the past 400 miles showed an 18.3 average with a best of 19.4.
      I’ve not really had any true trips with it unloaded other than bringing it home. That was a little over a 100 miles and it got 22 according to the computer.

    Another perfect video as I’m searching for a used HD. I really wish the 2500’s had a higher payload. I think it will be adequate for what I’m towing now, but I wouldn’t mind giving myself some more wiggle room.

      @@JB_WhoWork Yes I do, it separates the truck from the trailer especially on grass or dirt road where the trailer will rock side to side because of the uneven surface off road environment and the truck is not affected. Part of the reason the 2015 GM truck needed more steering input could be due to the Gas engine weighing less than the diesel option.

    You would get better mpg by taking the exhaust break off of always on and switching to auto. The Bilsteins should be blue in the rear with the off road pkge just like the front ones.. I have the exact model and all those options and more(plus 10k more miles than that truck has on it)..Problem is the low payload..which is why I want to sell mine for a 1 ton.

      I own a 2020 chevy 2500HD 6.6 gas crew cab 6'10" box gvwr 10,650 with a payload of over 3500 LB, almost double what this truck has, the extra weight from the diesel engine is a factor, but shocked how low of payload. Its my work and personal truck, i pull enclosed trailers and campers daily, i average 10.5mpg with these trailers average weight between 8,000-12,000LB same mpg, unloaded average mpg 18-20 mpg hwy, and best of 22 mpg over nice flat highway no wind. Very happy with my truck. Just putting some info from another owner of a different 2500 truck. Ram is decent truck just not my first pick, to each their own, thanks for the good reviews JB.

    My 1500 RAM tends to bounce a lot on local roads if I hit the right (or wrong) series of bumps. Will the 2500 suspension be the same way? I keep going back and forth between the 2500 and 3500. 2500’s have just adequate payload and the 3500’s seem like a bit of overkill for my trailers.

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  3 года назад +1

      Great question, the 2500 won’t bounce like the 1500’s as they are stiffer overall but they too ride on a 5 link coiled suspension so they are more tamed in comparison to a 1 ton. If you get the air suspension on the 2500 you will 🙌🏾

      Yep I've lived with it for 4 years now. 2500 mega cab diesel has terrible payload. Ram leaves GVWR at 10K while other Mfgrs are raising GVWR of 2500s. I try to talk people out of 2500 mega cabs whenever I can.
