What I love about this theme in contrast to other final boss themes in the series is that every other game's final boss theme sounds super dark and foreboding as if to say "you can't win" whereas this theme is saying "you've already won"
Probably because malladus in this battle is a very damaged state. That howl he lets out even before the battle. I’ve never heard a demon crying because it’s in such agony as much as he deserves it there’s something melancholy about it
1:19 at this moment I ALWAYS think about Link and Zelda nailing the Lokomo Sword together into Malladus' head and makes me wanna play the final battle or even the whole game again. I loved so much that now is one of my favourites Zelda games.
The Final Boss in The Wind Waker: Link and Zelda (with Zelda using Link's bow and the Light Arrows) team up to defeat Ganondorf once and for all. The Final Boss in Spirit Tracks: Link and Zelda team up (with Zelda using the Bow of Light) to defeat Malladus and Cole once and for all.
I recently found my old spirit tracks game, put it into my ds, and when i started i realised i had 100 percented the game. all the tracks and island were unlocked, i had all the hearts, i had all the bunnies, i had all the sword moves, i had everything, and i never even used playthroughs to see what happened. like did i really have nothing else to do??
@@giygas9305 recently bought another copy of the game because my old one got lost, and honestly like how tf did i get there with no guide that stuff was hard
I think it's cause it's fucking fitting for a train given that take on "I think I can! I think I can! I think I can!" Mantra for a train climbing a hill.
You can immediately tell it's a Minegishi boss track when the cellos and brass instruments take center stage. Kōndo also helped co-write some additional melody. Edit: I now think this is mainly Manaka Kataoka's work with Minegishi's overworld theme sprinkled in for extra leitmotif power.
Real talk though, I think if there was one Zelda villain that deserves to be in another game, it's Malladus. It would be interesting to see his true form.
Ditto, the Transform Pokemon! Ditto rearranges its cell structure to transform itself into other shapes. However, if it tries to transform itself into something by relying on its memory, this Pokémon manages to get details wrong.
By no means is Spirit Tracks my favorite Zelda game (either Wind Waker or Breath of the Wild)- but this leapt into my top five Zelda songs like a coked-out bunny with mutant super speed. I love how it works in the Overworld and Title themes.
I vividly remember that the first time I played this game I thrust the sword into Malladus’s head crystal right at 1:19 and it ended at like the perfect moment of that segment i stg it was the most epic thing to 8 year old me I still remember it
'Twould probably be the same as on the WiiU... both have touchpads after all. Although, I guess it wold be more vertically challenged. You could hold the gamepad sideways???

ok but thank god koji kondo came back for spirit tracks after being gone for phantom hourglass, could you imagine the soundtrack if the people from phantom hourglass did it?
The very first time I entered this battle, my very first instinct was, since I should simply distract him and bring his attention to me, to pull out the whip, hoping the strikes would annoy him like a caged lion or the crack on the group would garner his focus. Unfortunately, neither was the case as Malladus only reacts to attacks and the whip doesn't affect him. But every time I forget and try again.
I knew somewhere in my house there was still a Spirit Tracks cartridge. Listened to the soundtrack for the last hour and finding TLoZ in ome of my other Zelda game boxes made me tear up a bit.~ This just shows how much games can affect me or you.
1:42 this part to me always sounded somber at first with how the pitch is off, followed by it getting more hopeful at the end like to say “We’re not done yet, but don’t give up!”
My only complaint about this amazing game is that it lets you re battle all of the bosses (a change from phantom hourglass) apart for Staven/Byrne and the demon train.
Exile64 Is dark link at the end? I remember going through some gauntlet with dark link at the end when I played it the first time, but that was like 3 years ago, i recently picked it back up and finished it which is why im in this vid
Godddddddd I just LOVE when the game does that. You can just picture the trains wheels spinning at full throttle to the music as Link drives and Zelda is by his side as they are on there way to Malladus's location.
I'm doing a timeline playthrough of the series. I did Skyward Sword and Ocarina 3D, and then I started the child timeline by doing an abbreviated play of Majora's Mask (did the beginning on a new file and ending on my old file because I wanted to get to Twilight Princess). After Twilight Princess, it'll be Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and this!

i think wii u is good because you can use the touch pad for drawing on the map but everything else using controls.. maybe add an options to do both buttons and stylus to move around.. then everyone is happy
God, I wish this game wasn't so underrated by the zelda community.
If only they'd remake it with proper controls on the switch or something

It was a bril?isn't idea with zelda normally turned to stone or some other stuff, this still included her into the stiry
Brilliant
She is also not normally your traveling companion who talks to you throughout the game, although only a ghost I'd still count that.
This final boss is console level of epicnss and visual quality.
I gotta say that this boss theme is one of the best in zelda!
Agreed!
Bella Duprey Suchowolec it is the best
Yeah it sums up Link's adventure in this game better than any other. It truely feels like the climax of the game rather than it tapering off.
still is my favorite final boss theme in the series, also symbolic wise!
The Final Boss in The Wind Waker: Link and Zelda (with Zelda using Link's bow and the Light Arrows) team up to defeat Ganondorf once and for all.
The Final Boss in Spirit Tracks: Link and Zelda team up (with Zelda using the Bow of Light) to defeat Malladus and Cole once and for all.
the fact that the entire track sounds like a train engine made of instruments is just fucking insane to me
I want a Spirit Tracks remake with the same controls that The Wind Waker had. I can dream.

If Spirit Tracks wasn't a DS game, it would be regarded as one of the best Zelda games
While this may not be the arguably best Zelda game, it certainly delivers along the way. So many memories come from this song alone. So well done.
I do think this is arguably the best Zelda game.
It is to me 🤷🏻♂️

Sorry about that.
What a phenomenal work of art this game was. The game and soundtrack are both masterpieces. So underrated but still so damn special.
It's a badass piece, but it's just not the same without the roaring of Chancellor Malladus to go with it.
