Cantabile As much as I love a Shiek Zelda, a fighty one, I loved this one just as much. Her struggle with being born into this role that she doesn't want or doesn't feel like she actually can fulfill.
Well, in my own philosophy, strength comes in many forms and it is my strong belief that strength is an ability to overcome numerous trials in your life. Zelda in BoW may not be a fighter, but her strength is perceived through her own struggles of trying to find her place in a role that she obviously didn't choose but was tasked to her. I think that she is a strong zelda, but obviously not in the way where she can defend herself physically.

Joongshim Yeah, but I'm talking about this Zelda being our first full-blown Zelda with a lot of personality. Tetra technically doesn't count bc she's meant to be a different person enitrely, or at least that were Zelda's intentions.
Anybody who says Zelda's voice actress has no emotion really needs to have their ears checked. I mean look at the scene where she told link to quit following her around, you can really hear her frustration.
The English voice actress for Zelda has no emotion. The Spanish (I'm from Latin America) and Japanese voice actresses, on the other hand, are superb and made me care for her.
I personally like the scene where she actually is talking with no emotion, when shes knighting link in front of the champions. I just like how fed up and defeated she sounds.
Or Link "talks" to people but you don't get to hear what they say (that is, read it on the screen), he just explains it for you. "… Oh, so you mean my next objective is to go to the dungeon in the north? Huh, that sounds like it's gonna be rough. What was that? Did you say I should go and speak to the elder first? He's in the big house over there? Thanks, that was a huge help!! And yes, I will return if I ever need more information, that's so considerate of you to offer!!"
I really like the voice acting. True, there are moments where the characters just sound like they're reading the lines, but I blame that on the voice director. I'm tired of seeing people complain about Zelda's voice, she sounds just fine to me!
I like the voice acting too, and Zelda's has grown on me. But the one voice I can't STAND is Mipha's. Listening to her physically hurts me she's so dull and monotone no matter what she says. I loved Rivali and his smug ass though, haha.
At first I hated Zelda's voice. But then it kinda grew on me. Mipha's voice is too monotonous, she could have done better. Revali is a smug and I love his voice. Urbosa and Daruk is also fine
Was just thinking the same thing. The cutscenes in the game are very good but few and far between. It's like they took just the important scenes from a film and removed the bits in between.
Ashley S It's kinda mixed. I think it's less the voice acting, and more the voice directing and the writing. All the voices are great, but some of the delivery and some of the lines make me cringe. Especially the scene after Vah Rudania. It felt like the voices were awkwardly edited, leading to weird runon sentences.
Ashley S Because it's perfectly fine. The standard ofAmerican voice acting was several times worse than anything in this game barely 5 years ago. The voice work in this game is several notches above anything the industry gave us for most of gaming history. Only the youngest gamers are so ignorant as to think that the voices here are subpar. Well, them and the idiotic weebs who think that Japanese voices are the only acceptable ones, chiefly because they don't speak the language and wouldn't recognize poorly-done Japanese voice work if they were piping it into their eardrums every moment of every day.
@@grass7864 I think the VA is inconsistent in BotW. The only consistently good voice acting was Revali and the zora prince whose name I forget. Zelda has some really good lines in some of the memories, the ones that come to mind are when she talks to link about being a swordsman, and the one where she's annoyed by his constant protection of her. Both convey how Zelda is feeling very well. There are other times when the acting falls short, not just for her, but for other characters as well. Urbosa's VA did not seem to fit her character, and mipha almost sounded too whispery and shaky that it was nearly comical every time she spoke. Despite this, her voice acting has one redeemable factor that the others don't, which is charm. On top of this, the accents for the King and princess zelda do not align at all, making the one memory with them both speaking lose it's weight because it's hard to believe that they're related at all. I think because of the inconsistency, the voice acting is sub-par, and I hope it improves by the next game. However, this by no means makes the game bad, if anything its barely noticeable and likely wouldn't effect a normal player's experience if they didn't consume a lot of media like this.
1:13:48 The fact that this was the first memory I've seen in the game... I was so confused and had feelings that are too hard to explain. It was my first Loz game, and I got into it completely blind. Just after getting the mission from impa, I found this. Didn't knew any of the characters, but it was still so emotional and moved my soul deeply. Before I didn't really cared about the story line, saving Zelda or anything. Too stunned by the open world and it's climate to give a damn. But after this... It was a perfect way to start a story for good. This memory made me fall in love with BOTW for the first time, realising why everyone loves it. Coming back here after the TOTK new trailer reveal, it still does hit right in the spot. Truly a masterpiece of a game.
Yeah, some people complain about the nonlinear storytelling, and I do understand because I also don't enjoy nonlinear narratives usually, but my first memory was the Silent Princess cutscene, and it still worked as the 'first memory' for me. It's designed so any of these memories would be enticing enough to learn more
1:16:08 i only just noticed...at the end of daruk’s sentence, revali turns away and scoffs he’s STILL salty about how link is the special one who gets to go fight ganon
I like the facts how revali is so salty when he tough link was pathetic now when he sees link defeat windbilght Gannon he respects him abs is pretty chill
Rewatching this to brush up on the lore for TOTK and all this time I never realized that at 1:24:00 you can hear Fi's theme while Zelda is speaking to the Master Sword
@@liamdalemon1525 wdym how did Zelda get powerful because of luck? Her power got awakened because she was trying to protect the one she loved. This can be proved. Revali said he underestimated Link’s luck because he just did not want to admit how Link was worthy of being the chosen hero. Well unless you were just joking
@okokokokokokokokokokokokokcool If it was really a bad game series it wouldn't have all this success. I'd say it's the best one. I've never had as much fun in any other hame series. I played lots of games but LOZ is definitely the best.
@okokokokokokokokokokokokokcool I literally own different game consoles and PC games since I enjoy them, Nintendo just develops some very good games as well lmfao (also dude grow up, “must be pog” lol)
@okokokokokokokokokokokokokcool You claim I'm the one making non-arguments when you're the one making claims about what I choose to defend and making non-arguments about the game itself, man. To get it out of the way, yeah the game is unfortunately held back by the hardware its released on, the Switch is a very weak system that doesn't offer much in terms of graphical fidelity and it affects the games released on it, including TOTK, but that's something related to the hardware itself and NOT related to the games that release on said hardware. I also will say that it is unfortunate a game releasing on the switch is $70, since it's not a next-gen console and it doesn't really warrant that price, but that's moreso due to the nature of inflation and rising prices in general, even if it's still hard to just defend. You claim TOTK is a $70 re-skin which really goes to show just how much you know about what you're arguing here, since anybody who's played the game knows that straight up is not the case, there is SO much more to the game that genuinely surprised me as somebody who loved BOTW when it came out. Even entirely ignoring the sky islands and the depths (the depths being an entirely new map equal to the size of the main map), the main map of hyrule adds so much more to what was previously there in BOTW and it's really refreshing to see. One of your main arguments was the fact that nintendo fans don't play good games as well? Which is a non-argument in and of itself? Yet you claimed that me explaining my own experience in playing games was a non-argument lmao. I love games like DOOM Eternal, Elden Ring, Spider-Man PS4, etc, and I love how beautiful they each look, but it's also not why I play those games in the first place, I play them because they're really fun games with interesting stories. Games released on the Switch have to deal with its limitations, but many of the best switch games manage to look great even despite the limitations of the hardware, like Mario Odyssey, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and well TOTK itself.
Quentin Costeur They are indeed. Why did they have to be dead though? It means we're unlikely going to see them again. Though they'd all make great Hyrule Warriors characters.
"I always thought- no- I always believed that you would find a way to defeat Ganon." *Trailer of Breath of the Wild 2 comes out* ..... Well I guess we defeated the wrong Ganon!
Ganon was a manifestation of Demise's raw uncontroled power Ganondorf is a vesel of Demise, the antithesis of Link and Zelda in a way I would think Ganondorf may be a tad more dangerous as he is rational
Zelda had the weight of the world on her shoulders and unfortunately she spent most of her time doubting herself. Maybe its because she already knew the outcome. It didnt help that she had people doubting her. Fantastic character.
This is the Zelda game we all wanted for three decades. Hyrule in all of its glory. Zelda with actual character. A handsome (and nekkid) Hero. Voice acting. So many outfits and equipment. Calming sounds and ost. It has everything.
Omg I just noticed how in one of the cutscenes when Zelda says she’s just a failure and stuff when she hugs him you can see the love in his eyes and how he cares
Am I the only one who wanted Link to say at least 1 word? (Not even a full sentence, just one word) Mostly I wanted it as a big shocker at the very end, or in a very emotional moment, like when Zelda starts crying about how that the Guardians and the Divine Beasts have turned against them, that would've been the (subjectively) PERFECT spot to have it. But meh, can't expect *too* much... :T There was voice acting, which I really liked, which makes me happy. ^v^
Luminee Luma Productions he should have said a sentence but made it very retarded like "fault..." Zelda: what? "Not....your....fault" or something like that lmao
"I've been keeping watch over you all this time... I've witnessed your struggles to return to us, as well as your trials in battle. I always thought -- no, I always believed -- that you would find a way to defeat Ganon. I never lost faith in you over these many years... Thank you, Link... the hero of Hyrule." "May I ask... Do you really remember me?" -The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (2017)

Lots of them..... tons of them... a lot a lot a lot lotta lotta of them... a huge mass quantities... enormous school of them... they're so cute though... itty bitty little fish babies... some of them were eaten by some frog just before they hatched... and a bird... and some larger fish... until I realized what... who they were... but yeah.... I don't think I'll be able to afford to have anymore babies... so I got my self fixed... sorry.. :( Bright side though... we can have a lot a lotta tons hours and days... weeks, years... maybe even, depending on what the heck the erection... I mean resurrection thing did to us... maybe centuries... of sex... hot steamy sex.... and if we get board, we'll invite some ghosts, monsters, and other fun loving folks in... have our self a real Hyrule party... but only if we get board... and if it is centuries... we're probably going to be doing some really freaky shit... real freaky... it's gonna get insane... but no poop stuff or pee stuff... where you going? What happen to that "I'm going to have your babies" face? Come back... hey, I told you I was raped! Wasn't my fault! I hear getting fixed for guys can be reversed... we can try that? I'm not totally broke... we'll be like king and queen anyway right?
I think zelda is too self important to marry a bodyguard. Why else does she not try get with link EVER. No matter the generation. And whats up with the stupid fish girls liking link.
34:23 Link has a genuine look of sadness and looks touched when Daruk apologizes for being dead and unable to help with calamity ganon. Link also has a grin on his face when he reunites with Daruk's spirt. easily the best reunion based on what Link does.
When I played botw, the cutscenes were spread so far apart that they lost all meaning to me. But watching them here, all together actually made me legit emotional. The story in this game is great, but I think it's hindered during gameplay.
@@xyzshantaram like, right at the scene mentioned, what if he looked at Zelda and simply said “are you alright, Princess?” my heart would be DEAD. DECEASED.
Revali: ... and then I said “good luck sealing the darkness”, and then flew away! Urbosa: lol Mipha: Revali, that’s pretty ru- Daruk: HEY DID YALL KNOW I EAT ROCKS? JUST IN CASE YOU DIDNT HEAR ME THE FIRST THREE TIMES IN THE MEMORY
I love how whenever Revali flaps down the music kind of syncs with the flapping... it just goes to show how much effort was put into such small things.
1:18:00 everyone who says link is completely stoic and has no emotion has ignored the way he looks at her right here. there is so much pain in those eyes, so much empathy, this is the only moment they are allowed to hurt, before they have to pick themselves up again.
1:16:47 is the one moment link didn’t do his job because if he would’ve done what the king said he would’ve picked her up and kept running but he didn’t he listened to her and let her speak that’s the one moment that he was her friend and not her knight and it’s a sad and a great moment
I haven’t come back to the game since I beat it in 2018, and my god. The story is so good. Zelda is amazing in this game and inclusion of the champions makes everything so much better.
My God I love Revali. I love how he doesnt particully like Link whilst everyone else cant get enough of him. You rarely see that towards the protagonist of a game.
Tears are connected in our society with weakness, when in fact, they are the opposite. Genuine feeling is a beautiful part of our humanity. To be free in ourselves to show our vulnerability is a sign of true strength; to be on guard and unwilling to be who we are or show how we feel for fear of judgment is not.
GOOD. GOD. I barley know anything about or follow zelda, and this video alone bring out so much. This game is straight up GORGEOUS. The story is so, SO ambitious, and unlike anything I have ever seen before. Thank you so much for uploading this.
Link and Zelda are supposed to be 16 when they're planning this whole Ganon thing, and 17 when they got nearly killed by it, and I'm 15 and struggling with school :v
Number1miraculousfan Haha, I’m sorry kiddo, it gets worse, a lot worse, I’m still in school and currently 17, believe me, you’re so lucky you’re not on your last year while the corona bullshit
38:19 The one thing that always annoyed me about this scene is that it implies that not only can Link see them, but so can others. At the bare minimum blood relatives can. So WHY don't Mipha and the King go talk to their loved ones?? They're all shown watching over Link and Zel at the end in Hyrule castle so it's not like they can't leave their resting places. The only one I truly want to see get closure is the King. I just want him to let Zelda know personally that he regretted his attitude towards her and that he was planning on apologizing and being easier on her as soon as she got back. That's all I want
First of all, BoTW has the best storyline in a Zelda game EVER and wow does Zelda have a personality like never before! This game is just so unlike the other games in the franchise which is why I love it so much. Also, at the end when Zelda asked if Link really remembers her, I honestly almost expected him to answer her. I don't know why I thought that, but that would have made that ending so impactful. Just a thought.
Dude, The Divine Beast Vah Naboris is terrifying. The music, the sounds it makes. Imagine visiting the desert and suddenly seeing a titanic, otherworldly monster-looking robot stomping towards you like that. I’d die
My younger sister took over that fight because my blood pressure was at the point of eruption. Took her some time and was down to 6 out of 15 hearts when she was done.
To me, it fits her. I think the reason why people complain about it is that people always had their own idea of what Zelda sounded like. and hearing her actually talk in a game throws them off. but hey, let's hope Zelda fans don't get anywhere near as bad as the Sonic Fanbase. the way they go about the voice acting in that series is far worse.
@@srijadas652 Urbosa kind of had associations with earth, but not a lot. It just made sense since the other 3 elements are with the other champions and divine beast

Anybody who says Zelda's voice actress has no emotion really needs to have their ears checked. I mean look at the scene where she told link to quit following her around, you can really hear her frustration.
At least she got to know what all previous incarnations of Link felt with Navi, Midna anf Fi etc.
The English voice actress for Zelda has no emotion.
The Spanish (I'm from Latin America) and Japanese voice actresses, on the other hand, are superb and made me care for her.
Just watch the Latin Spanish ones
I personally like the scene where she actually is talking with no emotion, when shes knighting link in front of the champions. I just like how fed up and defeated she sounds.

Imagine a loz where the only character that has a voice is link and everyone else is silent
And yes, I will return if I ever need more information, that's so considerate of you to offer!!"
or link only says mean things in his head and link helps people to make dark link shut up
Lmao I feel like it would ruin Link/the game especially if the voice doesn’t suit his badassery

There's a comic in the back of the Hyrule Historia that's basically that.
Jordan Bernotavicius Yeah other than Daruk I thought the voice acting was good, especially Zelda.
At first I hated Zelda's voice. But then it kinda grew on me. Mipha's voice is too monotonous, she could have done better. Revali is a smug and I love his voice. Urbosa and Daruk is also fine

I don't understand why people don't like the voice acting. I actually like it.
I like the voice acting too.
ESPECIALLY Revali.
No no nothing can beat Link's voice acting
Ashley S
Because it's perfectly fine.
They did so well with this one. Humanized the franchise a little more.

I really loved the story of the game, it was very well done. Also, this game finally confirms what weve known for a long time, that Zelda is in love with Link
I am quite positive that is what she wanted the Deku Tree to tell him
Who *_isn’t_* in love with Link in this game?
