Wade! I cannot tell you how excited I am to hear that you're doing these sort of interviews and stuff. It is such a cool concept and I truly love and appreciate hearing from other makers that are on this journey. Carrie is absolutely awesome and on the right track and I am so excited for her launch :) Hopefully I'll be able to snag a few items when she does it is so fascinating. I went into this video thinking it was just like the disney villains which are cool and all but her actual concept is hundreds thousands times better. I wish her all the luck but I think she's going to rock it! :)

OMG, I LOVE the wax melts from a design point, I haven't smelt them yet. And it sounds like they are similar to the scent-changing ones I am trying to make. Their product descriptions even make me want to research the movies, like a trivia blurb.

It opens with her singing Freak On a Leash by Korn. I hadn't heard of her company and I'm sold. She rules. However, I have never made a bad candle. I was fortunate enough to have a guy named Wade make a ton of videos on how to make candles!

I have been struggling. On the fence about launching because of my theme... This video may just prolong my launch yet again because watching it is giving me the nerve to do what I REALLY wanted to do, but was too afraid it was " too much", or afraid my target audience might not get it because it's "Renaissance" inspired. Old art forms in the modern day feel. ( dragons, king/queens, friends/foe, castles and dungeons, spells and wars. I think i might be a fan of your products, can't wait! and THANK YOU!!!

@BlackTieBarn yes I already bookmarked her site and I will be impatiently waiting like a kid in a candy store to buy. It's hard to merge the 2 and I'm still struggling on how to integrate more music into it but she seems like a natural and her brand is going to be huge!

Congrats to her! One advice I would give is move slowly! I see and hear from other candle makers that they try to move too quickly and invest way too much money in inventory without understanding their market, what customers would like or dislike, cost vs profit etc..Learn your craft and learn your business.

I agree with 32:00 ish 100% Talking about products is what I think I am best at. There is something in your (general person's) voice that changes when you know what you made and believe in it, versus, what in writing is called "writing to market," making items that will sell because you know others sell them.
Why would someone buy a handmade D20 (dice) and a box to hold them in from someone who makes wax melts with a scent meant to capture a fantasy land? Because I designed the green/brown/gold dice to represent a Druid, and the scent is Druid's Rest (woodsy scent,) creating a whole immersion for the tabletop player. Perhaps I did not describe it right, but see, it is easier for me to speak about versus words in a picture.
You are definitely right. Words mean a lot and you can sense a lot from them.
